Now, getting passed my positive thoughts, there are a number of things that really get on my nerves in this anime. *THIS SECTION WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS OF SOME SORT BUT I WILL KEEP IT TO A MINIMUM!* The women in this anime truly grind my gears, the way they are and the way they do things. I do not know if this was the way it was supposed to be because of the time period or whatever, but the two main female characters in which the two main male characters have a crush on really get on my nerves. Firstly, Ritsuko was nice at first, I thought this is a character i could really grow to enjoy, but then a few episodes in it hit me how much of a fragile pathetic character she really was! Misunderstandings, neglecting her own feelings, neglecting others for their feelings just because she can't handle her own. In short... A bitch!
Then there is Yurika, at first, once again, a nice character. A damsel in distress who is saved by the prince, first showing affection, that then moves on to using of sorts. Then, they destroyed her initial image and made her come across as a bitch of the highest magnitude. Understanding someone's feelings for her and yet going after someone else, all while stringing along the initial man.
That said, this anime is still very enjoyable and I advise it to anyone who is in the mood for a musical anime that will truly dig into your heart, especially if you lived through the time period it was set.
