Was going to give this a 9, possibly even a 10 since I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Apart from the largest cop-out in anime history for me. There's nothing worse than taking a lovable character then completely ruining them, what they did to said character was despicable and ruined a great series for me.
Everything was great up until said point though, the story was fantastic throughout.
The art was great for the style of anime it is.
The music was wonderful, apart from towards the end when they decided they would make our cute lovable character a sex idol...

I love the Romeo/Juliet feel this anime gives, and in a very unique way. I would recommend this anime to anyone who loves a serious and dramatic romance, as most do. It gives back that feel of youth we all had (or in some peoples cases still have) and the feeling of regrets and what we could of done different. That youthful refreshing feeling is what made this anime so enjoyable, really wets the appetite ( pun intended ). The characters are well developed, all getting their fair share of screen time and back story, while the unique art style of this underwater paradise

From the score this may seem like a very biased review, and for some parts that might be true because it is a lot like the hit TV show 'Heroes' which I personally loved.
But that is not it at all, the character development is on a whole other level, the story is incredible with plot twists and incredible action scenes, be that not many. The sound was incredible, the tracks by ZHIEND were truly emotional and beautiful for all you audiophiles out there! One of the best anime's I have ever seen and I thoroughly recommend it! *Somewhat SPOILER*!!!! This review was originally an 8/9, but ...

I'm going to start by saying this, I love this anime. I do, this anime is great, it shows how people's lives were back in a golden age where there were a lot of troubles, be it political, emotional or even physical. The story for that matter is great, the way it follows there lives and how honest to truth it is is incredible. The art is amusing in a way that could draw you in, and the sound... well, it is an anime based around music so the sound is incredible. I thoroughly enjoyed this anime and highly suggest it!
