I will be evaluating this anime according to the circumstances surrounding its production. That is mostly because it was the FIRST anime to be produced by its respective studio. In other words, I will be ignoring the censoring part and carry on as an uncensored version watcher.

Also, as of credentials, I've watched all 13 episodes and read the manga as well.

Story (main plot): 2/10

Clearly, the beginning was rushed, but that was inevitable (far too many characters to handle in 13 episodes). The premise was extremely rough for the series and was the reason for many drops (including the censorship). The reasons behind the crew's expedition to Mars sounded more like an excuse than anything. And so, yes, 2/10 for the main plot. However, I am only giving this grade because of the MAIN PLOT.
Many sub-plots centering around the main characters made the anime extremely enjoyable (see character rating)

Art: 7/10

Art style is pretty subjective, but I appealed to me. However, if argued that the cockroaches' designs were lazy (they pretty much have the same face), then I'd just reply that if they had to give a difference face to EVERY single cockroach on Mars, then the budget would explode (think about it, in war anime, soldiers are all dressed to same way).

Sound: 8/10

Sound is very subjective too, but I think the OSTs were great and dramatic, fitting the anime's overall theme. Great opening too.

Character (sub-plot): 9/10

Many main characters are very likeable. One is able to identify to many of them simply because of the screen time spent on their respective backgrounds on Earth, as well as their reasons of joining the expedition. The characters of Terra Formars were its strongest point. Now I won't go further into details because I don't want to spoil anyone.

Enjoyment: 8/10

I literally watched it for the characters (and their own unique sub-plots), not for the plot itself. Also, being a manga reader gave me much more details about the anime, so it was much more enjoyable 8/10

Overall: 7/10

After a bumpy start, the anime redeemed itself around episode 6~7 and kept getting better from that point on. Along with the fact that it was the FIRST anime to be produced by its studio, I believe that I can safely give the anime a 7.
