Your Lie in April is an anime that revolves around friendship, loss, love, and recovery. It has this way of making your heart wrench and then making feel warm and cozy not long afterwards. Even though it is an overall really serious anime there are moments of comedy carefully woven into the story to take some of the edge off without throwing the anime off of its course. The friendships in this anime are so solid that there is nothing that could make them dissolve in the slightest. Even when there are issues that come up that would strain most other relationships, the friendship in this anime shows how true bonds hold no matter what and how friends are meant to support each other though their hardest times. The love in this anime was so endearing that it could be felt in reality. The warmth and happiness that comes with love was developed very well as well as the sadness that can also come from loving someone. The loss in this anime is the type of loss that cuts into your heart really deeply but they didn’t make it so that it would be overwhelming at any point. They made it hurt just enough that you could understand what the characters were going through just a bit. With that loss they also brought into play recovery to show that no matter what happens, the heart can be healed with the proper support and facing the matter so that there can be closure to heal.

I personally loved this anime. I wasn’t sure how I was going to like it after I first started watching it because it didn’t seem to be my type. I had never taken an interest in watching anime about music before and that was what I thought it was about without reading the summary and just going off of some pictures of it that I saw on tumblr. But as I watched the anime I knew that music was only playing a role to support what the anime really wanted to portray. It has been a while since I have watched an anime that truly kicked me in the feels but this one did. I smiled, laughed, and cried with all of the characters in this anime. It was so raw that I couldn’t keep myself from feeling everything that was going on. Even the music touched my heart. I would recommend this anime to anyone who is looking for a touching anime. Or just anyone at all because it is amazing, from the artwork to the story.
