Holy Shit! What the hell am I watching? I'm going to stop watching it right now actually and write a review about it.

This anime had so my hype surrounding it that I simply had to watch it at some point. But it is a disappointing watch, where the ends are not justified by the means. The premise, the plot as well as the ending make little to no sense. Lets get the good stuff about the anime out of the way so that I can give you a lasting impression of what you *should* be walking away with (which is how really bad it is).

- Art (9/10)

The Art did not leave me wanting more. There was very little CGI involved in the film, especially in action scenes, and if there was (which escaped my notice), it was probably quite trivial. Either way, the art is fantastic, a crazy tonne better than what DEEN did with Log Horizon, but thats another rant for another time.

- Sound (10/10)

The music is beautiful. Really, it has a sort of elegance to it that so many anime with musical components simply miss out on. The very first song is so very soothing, and in a way so bleak that it perfectly describes the premise of what is happening. Truly marvelous sound-track. Its so good, that I'd say that its second only to FMA's sound tracks.

- The Bad (Story 1/10, Character 1/10)

GC is what happens when you have a small budget but a disproportionate amount of hype. These guys tried to do everything, put a little bit of Code Geas, mixed in with psuedo-harem and fan-service as well as robots, amnesia and whatever else felt cool at the time. Like Dystopian shit.

GC is a dystopian story (not really) about an idiot of a boy (called Shu) who forgot everything that would make solving all the problems presented a 1 episode thing and his gang of friends, or should i say people who just got stuck with him. The story is so generic and so badly executed that I'm not going to get into the specifics of why it sucked. But the storytelling suffers from a chronic lack of coherence. Shit happens out of nowhere, robots just come in out of convenience, vaccines are supposedly cures now, the main love interest supposedly sings in a band, but the other members seem to be non-existent. Like what gives?

Don't get me wrong, I *love* generic stories. I'm a huge Naruto, Bleach and FT fan. But man oh man! Nothing made sense in this anime. Furthermore, the second part of the anime was so completely different from the first that I felt as though I was watching a different anime directed by a different director all together. Pace accelerates (which is good), but it gets so fast that the story essentially becomes bits and pieces sewn together. No real character development ever occurs throughout the series, but the second half is an abomination.
