Featuring Ginko from Mushishi as a solemn bartender, this anime elaborates on the nature of matters originally presented in Death Billiards. Despite the annoying stock humans who wander their way to death in conspicuous ways, the show can be relatively enjoyable by forcing some of the most disgusting and disguised types of people into positions where they will fight for their lives. Unfortunately, the truth of the situation they are in prevents any real suspense, and one can usually predict the outcome of an episode. I feel like this show tries too hard to appeal to a younger audience, and therefore misses out on some wonderful darker aspects that it could visit. The attempts of this anime to be philosophically deep are annoying, but I can see how some people could be emotionally "touched" by them. By the way, I lied about Ginko being in it, that would be stupid.
