TRIGGER WARNING!!! BEFORE WATCHING THIS SERIES BE WARY OF THE GORE AND RAP SCENES!!! WATCH ARE YOUR OWN RISK!!

"The Bird of the Hermes is my name, eating my wings will make me tame"

OVERALL: (10/10) first i would like to say that if you havent started the hellsing series, i have been told to start here because the original hellsing isnt that great and will probably leave a bad taste in your mouth. it was a trip that was worth taking. i am always really wary of supernatural animes, especially ones including vampires/werewolves because they are such sell outs in main stream media. if thats what you are expecting, some sparkly/mommy porn/disney channel vampires then think again. everything was perfect!!! it was so worth the time i spent into it!! if you like Berserk or Shingeki no Kyojin or Trigun you will LOVE this for sure!! the action and gore (if you are into that) is almost non stop with nicely placed moments of humor that are needed to make the show not 100% centered around the bleak atmosphere. the show was a 10/10!!Again, I have never watched the original Hellsing but i heard it was shit so if you havent started watching anything hellsing then start here

ENJOYMENT: (9/10) the episodes are long; almost an hour long each episode with the last episode being over an hour. if you wanna watch this series i would recommend watching it consistently when you have the time. watching this with a few days in between episodes is NOT ADVISED because every episode is important to the next and you might forget something important. the only thing bad about this anime was that you are going to invest major hours out of your day to watching the episodes, but besides that everything was great. it kept me hooked; every episode like a different boss battle in a video game.

CHARACTERS: (10/10) the characters were wonderful. every single one of them are memorable. I have to admit i really didnt like Sereas Victoria in the beginning because of her personality but she really grew into a great character. she is a great example of the amazing character development. every other character was fantastic too. they each had their own story line practically. none of them bored me or really ruined the atmosphere of the show or broke the context of anything at all. the Major has to be one of the best villains i have seen so far.

SOUND: (9/10) music in any sort of production might be the most important part (if not definitely one of the top important things to get down) and they did it wonderfully. the way they used opera/classical music in the anime was very tasteful and i really really enjoyed it. the sound tract did have some like 1920s jazz inspired music for most of the fight scenes and i thought that they were a little bit out of context partly because the setting of the anime was a little bit obscure. we know that is has to be after WWII for plot reasons but the art seemed to be more 1920s steam punk inspired, but enjoyable non the less.

ART: (10/10) the art was very good. the animation was fantastic. i envy people with that kind of talent. the blood splatter and fight scenes (especially during the last episode) showed the animators' true talents. everything was great. I loved the looks of all of the characters because they were distinct. the details they put into the clothes, buildings and the location (london) were very meticulous. it is obvious that they spent a lot of time on this project. the one thing that kinda through me off was the time lapse things. for example, the characters in flash backs to before/during WWII (whether they are vampires or not) look exactly the same in the current time the anime is taking place which is definitively shown in the plot as being many years after WWII. also in the last episode when we journey forward some 30 years, all of the non vampire characters look relatively the same. also we know that the anime takes place around and way after WWII yet the art is very centered around a 1920s/art deco/steam punk/kinda futuristic (?) style that isnt really consistent with the timeline

STORY: (10/10) the story was very involved and very malleable. the episodes remind me of those boss rushes in mega man. every episode is filled with deep story, gore fighting and just a touch of humor to lighten the mood just enough to make the viewer not suffocate in total bloodshed and a beatifically sad story line. Alucard's, Seras's, and Integra's back-stories are not only extremely important to the plot but are tragic and exemplary. it was very enjoyable to watch. i wouldnt hesitate to tell everyone i know about this. the only thing that the anime has against itself it the amount of timer per episode. other than that it was a great anime. could possibly be one of my favorites!
