Gore and boobies all at the same time! YAY! No wait...
Seriously, this was a waste of time as huge as the female characters' racks! Basically, if you ignore the zombies, it's just a harem anime with unusually shallow characters and an extraordinarily stupid script.
If you want gore, check out Elfen Lied or Gantz, and if you want fanservice, I'm sure you'll know where to look.
Animation
This is one of the best looking anime I have ever seen. The graphics and visual effects are just stunning!
Too bad the character designs are not as top notch. Most people look dull and uninspired. And the actual animation is a little stiff. But still, High school of the dead looks great, there's no denying that.
...but why do all the boobies behave like balloons filled with clabber?
Sound
Opening and ending themes are really bad. I FF:ed through it to spare my ears. Background music is also pretty meh. Sound effects are great though. Awesome gunshot samples and the zombies sound really zombie:ish.
Voice acting is also really good. Too bad no one is ever saying anything worth paying any attention to...
Story
Short version: Stupid.
Longer version: Stuuupid! How a studio can throw money on graphics and voice talent while letting a cow write the script and dialogue is beyond me. The first episode was very promising, but soon the dreaded irrationality that many anime share took over completely.
Every scene is filled with and based on irrational and unbeliveable behaviour which makes all credibility go out the window.
There is also no backstory; both the metaplot and the characters are incredibly shallow.
Character
Really shallow and stereotypical characters here. Nothing we haven't seen before in just about every bad harem anime out there.
Plus, they all act stupid beyond belief.
Value
The Coalgirls fansub was not that bad. Constantly lousy timing, but I could live with that as it didn't really matter what anyone said anyway.
Will not watch again.
