Clannad is one of those few fantasy stories that you just want to live in because all the characters are kind to each other (yes even between Kyou and Sunohara). Everyone is nice and kind, loving and caring; peaceful... it's the ideal world. But even in this world, it's still slightly twisted in a rather sorrowful way. The death of a true love whose time spent with was too short, and soon after the death of the only child also whose time spent with too short. And then the final death that eliminates all traces of the family: you. If you had a second chance in which both lived, would you take it? Would you believe that reality? Such is the question posed in this remarkable drama.
Story - 8
This story is one that would bring families closer together, but best watched individually. A child who has yet to understand the meaning of "love" will come to understand it when he/she immerses him/herself in this story of family and friendship. There are times when you can or cannot take things for yourself, and times when you must give back to the world. Humans help shape the society that you live in, and when you come to love the world you are living as of right now, then how could you hate the people around you? You grew up with a shitty father, but at least he doesn't inflict more damage or pain unto you than he already has. This story makes you appreciate everything more, and convinces you to truly treasure your family and friends, for they are the ones who have made you happy and kept your life joyful.

I have to admit it but... THE FISH EYES ARE REAL. Though it does add to the cuteness of the characters and such, IT'S STILL KINDA CREEPY AT THE SAME TIME. Without the human face and school uniforms, I'd bet they would all be weird freaks of some sort.
Sound - 10
The music fits everything so perfectly. My parents thought Kotomi's theme was Parisian (they grew up under French influence) and I thought so too. All the themes and songs certainly fit the moods and settings throughout the story. They also all very representative of the characters, like Nagisa. It was intended for the character of the same name and the music fit her profile so well because it mixes her childhood love of the Dango Daikazoku and who she is currently in the story.
Character - 9
The characters seemed too "set up", as in it seems that "God" or whatever created an ideal world for Tomoya to choose whichever girl to fall in love with, and he'll create that same bond of love with Nagisa whichever path he chooses. Unlike Angel Beats, where Otonashi eventually falls in love with Kanade after just trying to simply befriend her, Tomoya has an easy love life. It almost seemed that no matter what mistakes he made, they will eventually fall for him (I played the VN, it's hard NOT to hit (bad end)). However, the "set up" fit perfectly for a bright and beautiful fantasy story, which I think is difficult to do.
Enjoyment - 10
Even though it made me bawl like a baby a few times, I still loved it. I cried because I was that immersed into the story.
Overall - 9
Well this is self-explanatory because of what's written above so... YEAH! Go ahead and watch this anime if you love fantasy drama and/or comedy but if you're an action-lover, don't expect too much out of it.
