I started off watching shoujo romance anime, and then started watching darker themed animes like this one. I love the underlying storyline and backstory of the characters and how they came about to how they are now. Whilst watching it, I became impressed by the art of the anime, the details that are put into the buildings, to the clothes are just amazing.
The story plot for me was extremely fresh, which is probably the reason why its my favourite anime. Like I said before, I felt so connected to the characters, thats probably why it stand out from other animes like SNK and Mirai Nikki - don't get me wrong, these 2 animes are excellent as well, its just a personal preference.
