And I loved it.
More specifically, I love Guts. It's not common in an anime to have the lead character as a manly man with a manly voice and a manly body and a manly disposition (am I right, ladies?). He makes mistakes and amends them. He makes decisions and sticks to them. He stands up for himself and those he cares about. He is by no means a nice guy, but he is a great man.
The story is seemingly simple yet intricate and complex. The characters are intriguing. The art is average but keep in mind that this is from the 1990s. If you enjoy an intelligent story, complex characters, action, violence, and a taste of fantasy, then you will love Berserk.
