FAVORITE. MANGA. EVER.
I'll make my review a little different from everyone else's and just be drop dead honest as to why this is my favorite:
I love Guts. So much.
He is a man's man. Tall, built, and very strong. However, that's not what made me fall for him. He is ambitious and skilled, he is loyal, he runs towards his challenges (literally), he is not concerned of what others think. He loves one woman truly unconditionally.
This is by no means a romance, but if you're looking for a read with a lot of mind and a little bit of heart, you will enjoy Berserk.

When I first heard of this manga/anime, I avoided it due to its infamous violence, particularly the end scene. After giving myself a good ten-year preparation, I finally decided to watch Berserk.
And I loved it. More specifically, I love Guts. It's not common in an anime to have the lead character as a manly man with a manly voice and a manly body and a manly disposition (am I right, ladies?). He makes mistakes and amends them.
