"The world is not a piece of cloth, it is full of incomprehensible things" - Kiryuin Satsuki

Kill la Kill was produced by Trigger, that was founded by former Gainax staff members. In fact, this anime is one of the 2-cour fall anime that I have watched.

STORY (8):

The story takes place in Honnouji Academy where students possess uniforms that give them various powers and abilities. The place was run by Kiryuin Satsuki and it's all up to Matou Ryuuko to stop her.

The story is captivating in the sense that it has awesome action scenes. However, it didn't make my heart pump fast.

In fact, to me I know that most people will not like this anime because of the illogical fanservice. However, I didn't mind that, as long as the fanservice is not the main focus of the show. I would deem the fanservice illogical if the fanservice is the main focus of the show.

The anime also said some memorable quotes like "Nudist Beach", "La vie est just drole". However, the most memorable quotes are from Kiryuin Satsuki. She said "People do not live for the sake of clothing".

For those of you that don't know the meaning of "La vie est just drole", it means "Life is funny".

ART (6):

The animation took quite a while for me to get used to because the outline of the animation looks filmsy and awkward. The animation looks like a combination of Gurren Lagann and FLCL. The director of those anime is Hiroyuki Imaishi.

SOUND (8):

The only music I loved was Ragyou's theme "Blumenkranz". It has a catchy and addictive rhythm. The music shows power and glory. I am all right with the opening and ending songs. Right now, the song that grew to me was the 2nd opening "ambiguous" by Garnidelia and also the 1st opening "Sorry, I'm done being a good kid" by Miku Sawai.

CHARACTER (7):

I am fine with the characters. They never stand out to me with the exception of Matou Ryuuko & Kiryuin Satsuki.

Kiryuin Satsuki is the best character in this anime. She really takes pride in what she does and she has a bright vision and goal. In fact, she is an anti-hero. She wasn't bad for the sake of being bad. She just wants to protect the world. Not to mention, she is a badass.

Matou Ryuuko is also badass just like Kiryuin Satsuki. She wears Senketsu which is her battle armor that gives her strength and power in exchange for her blood.

Mankanshoku Mako was annoying because all the time she gets kidnapped and she requires Ryuuko to save her. However, in the later episodes, she tries to help her which takes serious bravery. She showed some character development.

Kiryuin Ragyou looks quite intimidating but not so intimidating to the point where I fear for her in my sleep.

Harime Nui was cute but she could also be very sneaky and cunning even when it comes to infiltrating Honnouji Academy.

I also wished that some of the side characters like Mako's siblings and parents especially Aikuro who is Ryuuko's teacher had some character development so that I really can connect well with them.

CONCLUSION (7):

I did enjoy this anime however, this anime didn't surprise me one bit. In fact, I did appreciate the way how they make clothing a sense of power. For example, different clothing is grouped into different classes.

I did enjoy Ragyou's theme song "Blumenkranz". However, that's pretty much it. I guess there's nothing to talk about.

If you like action, and if you don't mind the fanservice. You would enjoy this anime.

So, I would give it a 7 out of 10. It was fun while it lasted.
