This anime is flawlessly executed; it has beautiful artwork, a funny but meaningful storyline, interesting and lovable characters, and a sweet and believable romance. It's not the first anime to examine the relationship between humans and youkai, but in my opinion it's one of the best.
Story: 10
The beginning was kind of crazy, but once I got through it, the story flowed really well. This is not your typical high school romance, although there are hints of it. The focus here is on Nanami and Tomoe, two drastically different people from different worlds, and how they clash. The story was funny (I actually cried laughing at some parts) but there are serious and touching moments to it as well. I thought the pacing was just right - the two main characters have to learn to love each other, and I thought that was great. The spiritual elements to the story weren't overwhelming either - they were nice touches to a great romance.

My biggest pet peeve in animes is ridiculous artwork, and I'm happy to say I didn't find that in this anime. I thought both the character artwork and the background artwork were nicely balanced, and the characters were all so beautiful! Especially Tomoe - I think I fell in love with him, like, the first time I saw him! Absolutely exceptional.
Sound: 9
The opening theme is so catchy! I found myself singing along, even though I don't speak a word of Japanese lol. The music throughout the show was well suited to different situations, and I found the music even added to the magic of key scenes. The ending theme wasn't as great, but I usually don't like ending themes anyways.
Character: 10
Every character in this anime worked well with each other. The dynamics in the relationships in this anime were hilarious and perfect. I loved every character, and they were so unique and real it blew my mind. The main characters - Nanami and Tomoe - are perfect. Not only for each other, but for the anime. Nanami is so cute and determined, and Tomoe balances her out with his dangerous allure and sarcastic (almost cruel) sense of humour. They revolve around each other and in the anime so beautifully it's fantastic.

I recommend this anime 100%! I enjoyed it so much I even went to go read the manga, which is saying something because I usually don't have the patience to read through mangas. The story is so superb, and Nanami and Tomoe are probably my favourite couple (they're currently battling it out with Sawako and Kazehaya). I haven't rewatched this anime yet, but I probably will. Several times.
