but i probably looked at the title, read the description and saw the cover and thought wtf is this
at first i was pretty dubious that this would be some historical arabian nights thing, that was super lame and followed some sort of formula. But i was surprisingly wrong.
while its not perfect and i found a number of faults with it, it still managed to be highly entertaining to me, and the new season just started so there's more interesting anime in the future.
this may borrow elements of arab mythos but it goes its own way in typical japanese anime style. In fact, you will pretty much overlook the setting fairly quick once you get into it.
The best part is the unpredicatbility that rolls in with the story, and the adventureous nature of it.
The downside is that sometimes you just want the fighting to get on with it. in fact, i would have preferred a little slower pace which is rare for me. but well worth checking out, its definitely a hidden gem as far as im concerned
