I can really only describe my reaction to Academia as follows: Wow! Just...wow!

Story (8/10): Academia follows are witch-in-training hopeful Akko and how she basically becomes a (n even more) magical girl. And I just love it. We get a good look into the world of witches and the academy, and while it's just a sprinkle of it, it's enough to wet your pallet and give you an understanding of the world we'll enter. And while it does have the problem of there really being no background (like how much do people know about witches?), I wasn't bothered by that at all. Trigger made a story that makes you want more and to see how Akko continues on in her studies to be the most fabulous witch possible.

Art (10/10): This OVA has some of the most amazing art that I've seen in a while in anime. The colors are vibrant and striking, the spells looked mystical, the whole final battle was great- seriously, I just want to praise everything! I'd also like to say that the

Character (9/10): All the characters were fun and interesting. Akko is a spunky kid who wants people to love magic and she just made me like out of sheer charisma. Her friends are fun (especially Sucy, being the crazy poison loving girl that she is) and I would've loved to see more of them if the OVA was longer. Her rival Diana was also interesting, since she at first gives off the 'totally evil witch-with-a-B' vibe, but easily switches over to a more boastful-heroic that changed my opinion about her right away. Her friends, though, can go suck eggs for being annoying. We also have the mysterious teacher/Shiny Chariot that I would love to find out more about.

Enjoyment (10/10): It's like Trigger took inspiration and magic of the Harry Potter series, the magical girl genre (or more specifically, Ojamajo Doremi), the design and comedy of American cartoons, some RPG antics and meta-humor, and the rainbow wave motion guns and butt kicking of the Precure franchise and mashed it all into one. And it WORKS. I was entertained throughout the entire 24 minutes, and I was honestly amazed at how much I wanted to keep watching it even at the end. I can also completely believe that this was made by former Gainax employees, since it just does an amazing job at sucking you in and making you feel all the more happy for watching it.

Little Witch Academia deserves all the praise that it gets. It's just so much fun and so interesting that I sincerely hope that Trigger's Kickstarter nets them enough for more episodes (though really, we all want to see a full fledged series. Don't lie kids, you know it's true). I can't recommend this enough for all to see. Since, you know, "Believing is Magic". ;)

(I held off on the super obvious MLP: FiM reference. You're welcome everyone. XD)
