The basic premise and presentation are evocative of Whedon-san's Firefly, right down to the stand-alone nature of many of the episodes and the lamentable yet appropriate brevity of the series' as a whole. Interactions between the characters are always lively and engaging, and no part of an episode is ever wasted. Everything, even the music, works together to tell the stories of the bounties and the cowboys alike, each episode dovetailing to form a richly populated universe that serves as the stage for the members of the Bebop in their struggles to come to terms with their pasts, their comrades, and their woefully meager cash flow.
