Both are your regular "guy gets transported from modern world into RPG-like world" except they have this gimmick where instead of being op right from the start they start from the bottom as one of the weakests. Of course, they get their super abilities (not so much) later anyway. Grimgar protagonist still stays relatively weak though, in a good way.

similar setting although hai to gensou no grimgar is more drama oriented and struggles more in the new environment.

Both series are about a group of adventures in a new world trying their best to grow stronger and survive, while also growing closer together as a non-blood related family. Both anime also have other groups of adventures, who have a much stronger base strength then the main party. Each one of these anime is great for its own reason. Grimgar is great for it's more slice of life feel while the main group grows closer, while Shield Hero is great for it's more lively adventure feel and also it's characters.

both are mature isekai that show the hardship and the ugly side of fighting monsters in another world

Both have weak mc in the beginning stages where they start to learn from 0.

Contains main cast who are generally ill-received (and considered worthless) by the population at first, and must work their way up in order to gain acceptance. MC's also learns the values of working as a team

It has the same plot where a group of people were transported into another world, however in Hai to Gensou, the group of people there had to team up if they were to survive while in Tate no Yuusha, the group of people there were competing against one another , but it was mostly with the one whom was an outcast that has to prove that he is nobody to mess with.

Both have the MC randomly transported in a world and being unsure of why. Then they are told what they have to do in this world. Both are set in similar places, with a city center with people selling items.
