They give the same relaxing, pleasant vibe. Both are slice of life about getting to know new people and making new friends.
Isshuukan Friends has more drama, although it has a lot of funny moments as well; while Tanaka-kun is more about comedy (even the "dramatic parts" are fun). The characters are interesting and cute in both shows. If you watched Isshuukan Friends, I recommend you this, and vice-versa. Enjoy!
Both very relaxing (aka. iyashikei) and light-hearted with simplistic character designs.
Tanaka-kun is more episodic, while Isshuukan Friends has more of a storyline (and some drama at the end).

Light-hearted slice of life anime that features a male protagonist that is always uneasy.
Both have a similar artstyle and school setting.
Tanaka-kun does have more comedy while One Week Friends has more drama and a slight bit of romance.
They both share this dreamy spring atmosphere, contain comedy and romance and are very easygoing slice of life anime.

The main similarity that came to my mind was the art-style and atmosphere: both Tanaka-kun and Isshuukan Friends have that adorable, fluffy art and feeling, which is standard for Hazuki Maacha (Mangaka of the latter). Both also have a very likeable cast of characters that are generally soft-spoken and rarely raise their voice and both also have (somewhat) subtle romance parts. Lastly, both will most likely be some of the more relaxing things you'll ever see (excluding the final part of 'IF' for this one) and can turn even the shittiest day around in a heartbeat.
