Kamisama no Memochou has a saying that the dead live on only through the work of a detective or the work of a writer. Hyouka... despite not having as dark of mysteries as Kamisama no Memochou runs along this train of thought to start off with. Both have similar art styles on top of this.

Both series' main protagonists have a strange personality. The rest of the characters also have contrasting personalities but shares the common idea of solving mysteries.

Both show's genre is around Mystery and the main character of both show always solve the Mystery with friends or a least together, the art are alike in a really good way since i love the art in Kamisama no Memochou and the reason why i started watching this show is because i really like it's art......

Kamisama no Memochou has a more adult theme with much more touchy and sensitive object, and more violence. However both are mystery with a very good pace and logic. You may feel uncomfortable watching KNM though.
