Tigermask is about wrestling. I am following Gundam by release date and am going to watch Victory next. I heard there's lots of death so it may be my fav too. Last 3 have been an 8 for me. I have Gundam x to be put to disc soon and Gundam wing on it's way from amazon. I got endless waltz too since it's the conclusion to Wing. Iwill stick to Ashita no Joe movies. I found Ippo to and purchased movies, but have both series downloaded and to be put to disc.

Tigermask 1 is alot like Ashito no Joe 1 (series). More violence in Tigermask. Same style (same era) of animation so if you like 1, you gotta like the other. Same as with all these longer series, they tend to run together and seems repetitive after a while. I dropped no Joe 1 after the 18 subbed eps cause I don't see myself watching the rest raw. I bought movie and will watch it soon. I have not been able to find movie 2 anywhere either. I will let you know if I do.

Tigermask 2 is better overall, but I only have it raw. I only watched a few minutes of it so far. Been into Gundam lately. Check out older Gundams. I don't like the new stuff.

I bought new FotNS series too. The first boxset is the dub version I already had, but with different opening music. The original dub (Manga Ent version) has much better music, but pic is a little better on new release. Boxset 2 has better subs than my bootleg set so I am selling it on ebay. I have several dvds listed that end tomorrow if your interested. I am selling entire Gatchaman and a few others.

I finally got around to downloading Ippo and Ashita no Joe. I dropped it after the 18 eps with subs. I don;t see watching anymore of it raw. Alot like Tigermask, but Tiger has more violence for sure. I am trying to locate movies on dvd since they are shorter and better for rewatching (I have 1st movie on it's way, but can't find second). Any idea where to find 2nd movie for download?

Casshan : Robot Hunter is the original and it was on Amazon. Kinda pricey, especially since I only felt it was a 6.

I will check out Veoh (if they let me on there again) for Ashita. Is the entire set you bought subbed? Did he have more sets?

I am about to start Gatchaman. I have a HK bootleg set and I am sure subs are bad, but I did NOT want the dubbed version of it. I did not like Robotech either, but preferred the uncut subbed versions for the violence. Voltron butchered the violence out of Go Lion, which is why I waited for original uncut subbed version. Same thing with Diarugger. Your R1 set of Gatchaman is dubbed right?

You probably got the 13 ep series if it was 30 bucks. The OVAs should be cheaper than that. I actually have 13 ep set up in my closet and I was going to give it to my nephew since it di not sell on ebay for what I was asking ($10.00). I know I paid less for OVA and it's much better. I just finished Tekkeman BLade and gave it an eight. Tekkeman II doesn't seem as good so far (only a 6) as it revolves more around shithole female characters and gay looking dudes. I hated how many times Aki said " D-boy". Watch Votoms for best mecha action/story/plausibility (mechanically). I upped it all to a 9. The new stuff blows, but stuff from 80's is sweet and musical score is outstanding.

Where did you find bootleg of Ashita no Joe and is it complete?

I did not like new Casshern Sins, but original was decent.

I have all of Gatchaman, but have not started it yet. I may start in a week or so on it. I was torn between Tekkeman and Gatchman about 2 weeks ago and went with Tekkeman. Echoeing grunts and attack noises kinda bothered me, but otherwise kept my interest for whole series. 30 eps in a weekend is ALOT my friend. Most I ever did was for Hokuto no Ken. I watched all 109 eps in like 8 days. 7 of which the wife was gone on vacation with her folks. I spent after work during week and 2 Saturdays on couch with hitter box and lots of fist flying, eye-poking and brain explosions to last a lifetime (or until I rewatch it at least). Of the ones you listed, I would start Hokuto. It will change the way you view other titles when they pale in comparison to this epic title. Just be prepared to put in a couple more 20 - 30 episode weekends, although enjoyable.

Area 88 original OVA is good, but the tv series is a newer version with more romance and more CG. This is why I like original better. The Harlock movie (arcadia in my youth) reminded me of it with the airplanes and excellent artwork. If you end up liking Harlock, check out Crusher Joe. The stories are not related between Harlock and Area 88, but Harlock stories are similiar to Crusher Joe (or vice-versa pending which came first).

Wash your hands and don't get sick from chicken. Salmonella or whatever you get from it is BRUTAL. Things are trying to come up and out from every orifice. Nasty and painful.

Just kidding. Graveyard shift blows too. Your body clock is going to get all screwy for a while. I did that back in high school for a few weeks as a stock boy at grocery store. As long as it pays well, do it as long as you can or until something better comes along.

Did you like original Area 88?

Arcadia of my youth reminded me of Area 88 slightly, but watch each Harlock as a seperate entity. Harlock Saga was very different from Arcadia of my Youth movie. Both about equal (for me), but different. I was told each is different and so far they have been. I did not like the original series (too childish).

I hear ya, Amon could have easily been an hour longer. Almost as bad as how Berserk ended for me (left me wanting MORE).

I watched Arcadia of my Youth movie and gave it a 7. I like the animation style and action, but story kinda lost me after about halfway thru. Still good though. I did not like dub for original series and gave up as it seemed much more G rated. I sampled Harlock Saga and it looks good (so I bought it and also Captain Herlock). I haven't seen them yet, but look forward to it. The new 2010 CG Captain Harlock looks way cool. His ship looks badass. It is said to be more adult themed too so......

I am going to add Ippo and Ashit no Joe right now.

Blue Sky I beleive might also be at Hokuto no Gun. They also have the dubbed version of Fist of the North Star (36 eps) for download, but they are from Megaupload.

I will check out Ippo as you suggested. I been passing on Harlock for a while now and recently discovered it is pretty good after all. It was recommended to me for it's mostly adult cast which I find more tolerable than too many child characters. I was put off by original series, but so far everything else looks good, especially new movie in 2010 (full CG).

I agree Amon was too short. It was awesome when he snapped after seeing the head of the head of his girl on the stick like that. I liked when the boy was running thru house calling his sister and took those arrows thru his head and stuck his ass to the wall. I laugh every time I see it. I seen it 3 or 4 times now.
