Wow at least you have some friends that watches anime. For me, the only people I can talk to about anime/manga related stuffs are people online. I'm a casual viewer of anime and an enthusiast reader of manga. I also prefer shoujo. Nice to meet you Stephanie! My name is Aldrin, although I prefer to be called Chichiri in this site. :P
Oh and I am of Filipino descent.
I haven't watch the anime version of FMA. I know it was huge before. I tried reading the manga but I couldn't get into it. Lol what's up with me not getting into most mainstream series. I'm a huge collector of manga, I used to collect anime before though. Yea, it sucks that we are on recession right now and lots of publishers are shutting down. It's hard getting a job right now, so money is just enough for everyday needs. Damnit! Although I'm finding the convenience of having scans though.
Mushishi is amazing. It's relaxing just like Natsume Yuujinchou and it is episodic as well. Piano no Mori is a great movie. It's character driven and it is a slice of life series. I love the main characters. Awee why thank you!
Ughhh tell me about it. Haruhi was annoying. I couldn't stand her. The series was better off if she's not around. I mean Kyon, Yuki and Mikuru were alright. I just don't see what most of the people liked about this series. It was a dragged finishing this series.
Both of the EF series are my top choice for anime. I just loved its artistic animation and the amazing soundtrack. Even though the plot were cliche, the animation made the series epic. Yep, Okiku Furikabutte is about baseball, pretty much focused on the baseball aspect. It's character driven too. Yeah I know Cross Game, I haven't seen the anime but read up to volume 7 of the manga. It was ok. I started reading this right after I finished watching Okiku Furikabutte. I don't like sports period, although with the exception of Okiku Furikabutte. I found myself skipping through the baseball parts of the manga. The story was alright, I did liked Wakaba and Kou. I wasn't a fan of stories involving a sibling rivalry for love etc..
Haha sorry, I ramble lots about shoujo stuff. I'm quite fond of lengthy conversations so it's fine. Well ttyl.
Definitely! It's nice to know someone from SD. Here at the house nobody are into anime/manga. Its nice to talk to people who share the same interests.
What series got you much into anime? I like like like Natsume Yuujinchou! It's very relaxing and it's like a slice of life series which I always end up liking when watching anime.
Currently, I'm much more into manga. I haven't seen any of the new anime ever since EF - A Tale of Melodies. I did tried watching Kimi ni Todoke but I wasn't all caught up with the anime so I haven't had the chance to watch the whole first season. As a matter of fact, I have the manga onhold for a very long time. It wasn't easy since I wanted to read the entire series in one sitting. I finally went ahead and read the scans so now I'm all caught up.
Btw I was lookin at your anime lists how are you finding Mushishi and Piano no Mori? This are in my top favourites. Hahahaha *cheers* for not liking Haruhi Suzumiya! :P
I highly recommend that you go and watch Okiku Furikabutte as this is my current fave anime series.
I'll ttyl then.
