This is my first time writing a review in a long while, and dear Kami what did I feast my eyes into. It's been a long while since I got a heavy fanservice episode like this, and somehow I had a blast throughout.
DanMachi is back with an another OVA, this time for its 3rd season that aired in last Fall. Now the whole series has been a hit or miss for me, but I can gladly say that this, this is one of the hits! The whole episode is just one big trashy, onsen fanservice, and I enjoyed it, because I know what I was
...
getting into.
Nothing special can really be said about the art and the characters, since they didn't really change. And the story is also alright, following a basic storyline of our characters going around doing some stuff while also being treated with some fanservice moments all throughout.
If you like your fanservice, if you like DanMachi, and if you just want to burn some time for some cultured entertainment, then I could safely say that you will enjoy this OVA. It gets a good grade for me, and a nice bonus content from the series as we wait for the 4th season coming next year.

After 6 months and over 24 weeks of watching the series that is When They Cry - GOU, I've finally watched this episode and completed my journey. Actually, Higurashi - GOU have many firsts for me personally.
It is the first Fall 2020 anime that I started to watch, since it was the first anime to come out of that season. Since I'm watching it weekly along with JJK and King's Raid, Higurashi GOU is also my first ever anime that I will watch weekly with a 24 or plus episode count. And eventually it will be the first 2-cour show that I will finish by
...
watching weekly. Lastly, and I can consider it one of the greatest mistakes I've ever done on my history with anime, GOU is the first Higurashi series that I've started, since I thought that this was a remake.
Sadly that broke my ass and viewing experience in the long run, but yeah Higurashi GOU is atleast one of the more special and notable title in my anime list. It was a special experience initially, until it didn't, and then it eventually become special again.
It was certainly a rollercoaster, but in the end it was atleast a good ride and a good series. And since I've completed all the two seasons (plus Rei) in the middle of GOU's run, I can say that this Higurashi brought a lot of interesting ideas in the table. And it has certainly twisted what we already know from Higurashi. But I guess GOU's actual reason of existence is that if you're not yet satisfied with Higurashi after the Kai's ending, and if you want more interpretations and ideas to be explored on the series, then GOU has that for you.
Overall after a bit of modification and some second thoughts, my score to this series is a weak to a near solid ?/10. The art definitely saved this anime from going lower. Music production, the theme song, and a very solid performance from the reprised cast was amazing. Although once again, I am still confused and some of the actions that happened in this series still doesn't connect with me. Characters are also changed along with the story, which left me more conflicted of it after coming out of Kai & Rei. And some of them were actually bad, so that stops this series from going up higher than a ?.
Hopefully SOTSU will answer and continue the interesting storyline that is set up in GOU. And that's it for this review or I guess I can call this more of a reflection, I hope you had a nice read from my ramble.
Final Score: 7/10

Ooh now this one interests me and not in an expected manner. We got Urasekai Picnic, one of LIDENFILMS packed offerings for the Winter 2021 anime season. And compared to LasDan, this anime is more interesting to watch, albeit more risky and more confusing.
It seems that LIDENFILMS is putting a respectable effort to make this kind of show work. The production quality is decent but not that great, and first we go to the visuals. The art is bleak and almost grounded with backgrounds depicting a ruined and uninhabitable "Other World". With the use of distortion and unorthodox visuals, it can already put the viewer
...
on edge and pique the said viewer to its story. Though one thing that I am not fond of is the use of CGI. This is mainly provided by the co-studio, Felix Film, who is credited alongside LIDENFILMS. The 3D models looks so bad and using them interchangeably throughout the show's 2D drawings doesn't help a viewer to fully immerse itself into the anime
But what I did like in the anime is its music, and it is a very commendable part of the anime. I don't praise the music much in anime, but in this title, it is very marvelous. The background music and sound mixing helps further present the setting of Urasekai in a surreal and unpleasant feeling. Once the music hits in a thrilling scene, it gives the viewer some real tension rather than just forgettable BGM. That's how good the music is in this anime. In the case of OP & ED, nothing really that remarkable though. They are just decent enough songs for the show.
From what I saw in the first four episode, this has managed to barely encapsulate me in its world. It can just potentially degrade itself as a poorly-executed SoL adventure show. But I'm not gonna cross out the possibility for this to become a mystery thriller show with some supernatural action to boot. I'm hoping that LIDENFILMS and Felix Film will execute this. But from what I've saw for the first 4 episodes, the show is not yet near at its true potential. Which is a shame because it has the interesting story and the capabilities to actually shine strong. But as of now, it is currently dragging itself down.

Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina has finally closed its chapter. In a span of 12 weeks, this show left me in awe for its enchanting story of a character travelling to different kinds of places. Learning different things about the big, endless worlds and herself as a person in the process.
When I first checked the Fall season way back in August, Elaina is one of the shows that instantly caught my eyes. A synopsis so simple yet interesting for a viewer that is tempted to check it out. And when I did watched the first episode, the show already grasped me with our titular
...
character, Elaina. A young girl that wants to become a witch to travel to all different kinds of places, with her inspiration being the book, The Adventures of Nikeh.
The adventures that Elaina experienced throughout the story each served an important lesson to her. Each world that she will travel to is a mystery of their own. And that the biggest takeaway that she will learn is that the world can be beautifully kind and despicably cruel at the same time. Every one of her travels is important to her overall growth as a traveller and as a character. And that's what I love about the show. That even though it is episodic most of the times, it can bring random stories that will speak to her and to us as a viewer.
The meetings and the farewells that she has to make serves as chapters to her overall story. Characters that we met along the way are only there temporarily. But when they do meet with our traveller, they give of their own flair and uniqueness that paints the colors of the whole canvas. Some were important, some were enjoyable, some were a nuisance and some were despicable, each one gives off their own colors to the show. And that makes it a much more enjoyable watch as we immerse ourself to the overall world of the story.
In the case of the art, C2C did a fantastic job at showing us the worlds that we're travelling to. If the world or a place is in peace or prosperity, the art will be bright when it needs to be. And if it's a gloomy or a dreary country, our surroundings turns dark to give off a tense and unpleasant atmosphere. And if we're talking about the sound, the OST of the show is decent at best. The OP is a beautiful song that welcomes us to the story and Elaina's world. While the ED gives off an enchanting magical atmosphere that makes this show immersive to begin with.
The only thing I can actually nitpick is when the show don't take itself seriously. When the characters and the pacing becomes clumsy and forcibly comedic, the show will lose its momentum and its presentation will be half-baked. And that was an underlying problem throughout some episodes of the series, which dragged down the score for me.
But if I gotta sum all this up, Majo no Tabitabi was quite an adventure. It didn't fear to push Elaina into different situations that can go great or way worse at any time. It lets our main character realize her flaws from the decisions that she made along her travels. Each of the worlds that we were presented brings out its own unique feel. And all the lessons and experiences that she made along the way developed her as a person. I will certainly look back at this show for the way it captured my interest to a story. Of a young, imperfect witch that travelled to a world unknown.

The second season is finally over, so what did we achieve throughout 24 episodes? Well not that much...
We continue from where we left off the first season as the 8th company tries to unravel more mysteries about the goal of the White Clads. And at the same time, trying to fight them to protect the Empire. It's pretty much the same as the first. We still have multiple arcs, training episodes, some greatly-animated fight scenes, and our cast having spotlight moments for their character developments.
The thing that frustrates me in this second season is that the quality goes up and down most of the time.
...
There were true moments of climax and greatness but it dragged on in some parts and it didn't felt like we had a true climax. Which means the payoff for watching 24 episodes of the show doesn't feel redeeming for some people.
In the case of sound, the OST and the BGM is still solid for Fire Force. The OP's & ED's are much more better-made this season with SPARK-AGAIN being my favorite of the 4 as it evokes hype and excitement each time when an episode begins, also the OP animation was really great. David Production didn't let us down with the art as it's just as solid and high quality than ever, you can tell they put a lot of effort half of the time.
The characters of the show, they're still there. Almost all of the cast from the first had some minutes that are important to the story. And some of them had their time in the spotlight to spark and shine, receiving some considerable character development. Also the villains/antagonists were decent as well, each presenting some hard challenge to our characters this season.
To sum this all up, I gave so many chances for this season. I didn't felt like I witnessed a great sequel but it was also not enough to say that it has become a mediocre series that deeply wasted my time. What saved this season is its great production quality, banger theme songs and the story still having its flair to interest me. What doomed this season is its inconsistent pacing, drowned out arcs and minimal progress from the first season, which was the true letdown for Fire Force this time around.
Overall, it is still a good show that manages to keep me interested amidst all of its flaws. I really hope the third season will be the true masterpiece that this anime series really needs, cause at this moment it only manages to surpass the first by a short distance.

I've finally got to finish Attack on Titan, and here's my take on it. Out of all the shows in my PTW, AoT was not the show that I highly want to watch. It's only because of the final season coming out soon (at the time of writing) that I did initiate on watching the show. And when I did, it was an outstanding and maximalist viewing experience that I really enjoyed. The journey the anime took in the 25 episodes was so amazing. I will remember the story and the characters as time pass by. It was not a perfect anime though. Lots of
...
recap syndromes, questionable still animations and the pacing was questionable in some places. But I will admit Attack on Titan proved me great. My expectations of why it became a super popular anime has been justified. And I will continue to watch the sequel seasons and some OVA's from here.
It was kinda hard watching AoT though. I already had my seasonal schedule being really long and really tight. And I'm also in the middle of schooling (don't worry it's at-home) which gives me less time to watch animes. But in a period of one week, AoT gave me a great visual and storytelling experience. Even though it will not be overnight, I will appreciate AoT just as the same way as I appreciate a series like Re:Zero or Bunny Girl Senpai (one of my favorite shows yet). Mikasa is becoming one of my Top 10 anime girls, Levi will be a cool dude as always. And Eren Jeager will become a memorable MC that I had cheered to and will look forward to in his growth as a hero.

It really is weird that I'm gonna put this show above slice of life/comedy shows like Konosuba, Sakurasou and Toradora!. (it really is odd)
But the reason why I love this show like is also the reason why I love Shirobako. It's a slice of life show that is straightforward to its core premise, a show about highschool students who fish in the breakwaters after school.
How to Fish 101: The Anime, and it does the job very perfectly. Our characters do have their own semi-cliche traits. Yet it was not focused and overdone in the anime which really did the show a huge favor. The setting
...
was really nice, different from the commonplace urban city places and more in the Southern Honshu coast which is tropical and is a perfect for a fishing anime.
Every episode really brought a smile on my face. Each episode brings us a certain day or a certain fishes that they're gonna catch and it is refreshing because they always have a certain goal to meet and the characters in the show enjoy what they do. I love that they put haikus or quotes by the end, it is a nice touch.
When it comes to our OP and ED, oh let me tell ya. Both of them are really great!
Sea Horizon (OP) and especially Tsuri no Sekai e (ED) are really catchy. The empowering OP and the jazzy ED is a combination I never expect I will love in a slice-of-life show.
Additional points for Houkago Teibou Nisshi for giving me moments to smile at and positive vibes throughout the trying times which is the 'middle of the year'. It's a contrast to the thrilling Re:Zero 2 and the trashy KanoKari this Summer 2020 season which I both like as well.
The chances of Season 2 are really slim, lets be honest. But what we got is already great, it's a very nice show with lovely characters and is one of the shows to watch when you feel down or discontent from everyday life. What an underrated show and a show deserving for my first review.
