Anime Relations: Fruits Basket: The Final

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the last week of this Spring 2021 season, and in this week we have the last set of big & minor shows alike finishing with their last episodes. 18 shows finished in the course of the week, and most of them had shifted the list again, and arguably much more disruptive than last week.

This week is more disruptive than last week. And yes, I am late for over a day, but this week gave us another controversy that we have seen before in AoT, and now that went to Fruits Basket: The Final. It HAD the precious #1 spot, and it HAD lasted on it more longer than AoT did. But because of the traditional voting squad of FMAB, it got its score downwards, and it's now back to 9.07...the same score it had last week. Such a shame, although for some it really feels weird that Furuba 3 out of all animes got the #1 spot. But to all of you FMAB losers...you're all pathetic and it's shameful that it has to happen once again in the same year.

Now with that out of the way, we have 18 anime series that are finished this week. Don't bother me to list it all, you can find it below with the BLUE numbers signifying that it only finished recently.

It was a lot to take in, and mostly it was a comeback for week for some, and a final nail for the others. Out of the 18 animes that ended this week, 13 managed to GAIN points ranging from Mars Red's +0.01 to the Spring season's record that [b]Fairy Ranmaru[b] made with +0.73 gain.

The only one that did not move in its final episode (and the one that shouldn't have happened) is Furuba 3, such a shame because it would've been +0.11 points if it weren't for. And then in the loser category, there were only 4 titles, with the sequels of Nomad & Moriarty capping off their run unremarkably after relatively a stagnant season for both, and then the big losers of the week Higehiro & Osamake. You all know Osamake's terrible run this season, and it ended off pretty much on point to its performance all season, but Higehiro also ended disastrously, and tbh it was pretty much losing all season as well, just not as worse as Osamake did.

Now one last thing to note of. The animes that ended in the previous 2 week also suffered some losses due to a lot more people rating their stakes at it. Notable examples are The Slime Diaries, Super Cub, Saint's Magic Power which lost about -0.10 points. But the prime exception of this is actually Full Dive RPG which recovered +0.13 points for some reason, and thus bringing it back to a bit more better scoring.

Overall, that was a very active week with a lot of changes that shifted the list entirely compared to what it was 3 weeks ago. Excluding the animes that are going to spillover into the next season (which is starting today), there is actually only one anime that is waiting for its results, and that is Shadows House...and that led to another change of plans. I earlier said that there will be a 14th week, but since Shadows House is the only remaining 1-cour anime of this season, I decided to include its final results to the post-season recap. And that's just about it.

For one final time, I hope that you will look forward into the post-season recap, where we reflect & finalize each anime's performance throughout the season. For the 13 weeks of dedication that I made this blog series, I know only a few people who would actually see this, but I'm still glad for myself that I made it work and actually do this to the very end.

It's now the Summer 2021 season, I am NOT doing this again, that's for sure. But I hope you got something from this, and I hope you'll become more curious about the scores & numbers of this lovely app called MyAnimeList. Welcome to the 12th week of this blog series, and officially the 3rd-to-the-last week of the season. Yes the first week of July is also counted because there are a couple of animes left that will finish in the first days of July, that also includes the spillovers to the upcoming Summer season.

But that will come later, right now we have seen 15 shows ending. And with that, their score change surmounting, and what a week this is. There are a lot of shuffles in the rankings, with some animes that have underperformed all season finally getting their 1/5 rebound. And other animes who are also nearing their finish line making some moves that will impact their final performances.

Strap on, because this will be a wild one!

15 animes finished this week, and here are their names: Vivy, 86, Mashiro no Oto, Slime Diaries, Super Cub, Dynazenon, Seijo, Diet Konosuba, Kabaddi, Godzilla: S.P, Mug Maker, Seven Knights, House-Hunting, Full Dive RPG & Jouran. That's a lot of names, but the most notable of them are the finishes of Vivy, 86, Dynazenon, & Dragon Goes House-Hunting.

The first two had a very good performance all-season long, and Vivy as a matter of fact, finishes just one point below the current standing of To Your Eternity, which once again has not been doing well all-season. Another solid one for 86, which has been a drama action-fest, and finishes ahead of Tokyo Revengers, which gained +0.03 points this week.
The other two, Dynazenon & Dragon Goes House-Hunting, on the other hand, finishes with probably the biggest gains all season, finishing with +0.45 & +0.63 points, respectively. And on the side note, Fruits Basket: The Final gained another +0.04 points this week, making it now the 5th highest rated anime on MAL, such a fantastc milestone we're seeing here, folks.

Now these animes I mentioned above along with other finishers did some massive changes in the list, and the ones that were affected took a big brunt this week. Higehiro which has been sliding for 2 months now made its biggest loss yet, with a -0.06 points decrease, Idk what happened with that. And even at its final weeks, Osamake made the same reduction as it now sinks to 6.40...wow. And finally, at the bottom pit of the list, Battle Athletess finally sinked below the 5.0 line, the first and hopefully the only anime who will in this season.

Alright ladies and gentlemen, we're now on the climax phase of the Spring 2021 season! Or as I would like to call it the Te B.O.T.E. (The Beginning of the End) of the season, but since it means something bad in the Spanish, I had to discard that instantly.

Now the reason why I call it the climax phase of the season is because this week saw 2 animes finishing their airing period. And in MAL, once they are finished, they will see a score boost, and (skipping over the 1/5 rule explanation) it's either going UP or DOWN. Btw, the 2 animes are How Not to Summon a Demon Lord 2 & It's Too Sick to Call this Love, one of them fell while the other improved.

This is just the beginning, because in the next 3-4 weeks of this blog series, you & I will see more animes finishing, and more of these wild score boosts. So the list that you're gonna see below will obviously change drastically once we enter July. But this has been a long explanation, you can now see the list.

Alright there's a lot of things to point out in this week. And just as I predicted last week, we have Fruits Basket: The Final having a rare moment, as it hits 9.03 this week. It is already the top rated anime in this season, but it ALSO meant that it became the #9 highest-rated anime in the MyAnimeList site. Not only does it surpassed animes like Koe no Katachi & March comes in like a lion 2, but it also surpassed the score of AoT: The Final Season! What a deserving feat for Furuba 3, and the titles below it did not disappoint either (well except for TYE). Tokyo Revengers, 86 & Odd Taxi all saw gains this week as they solidify their standings as 8.0 animes.

Now just below the Top 10, we have some impressive things happening. Shadows House, which has been an upswing anime all season long, has surpassed [/b]Mashiro no Oto[/b] for the #11 spot. And for the first time in this season (and with the help of a tiebreaker criteria) MHA 5 now has a higher score than Super Cub. And it looks like it will stay that way as I noticed that My Hero Academia 5 is actually improving due to a certain arc's conclusion.

And this is where we talk about the first animes that have ended in this season. Although in actuality, the first one to end is F'ed By My Best Friend, which ended 2 weeks ago but eh why not?
As I mentioned before, these two animes are How Not to Summon a Demon Lord 2 & It's Too Sick to Call this Love with the former losing another -0.11 points, while the latter gaining an impressive +0.23 points. Because of this, the animes that surround it all saw some shifts with their positions. Now before we move on, these two animes will still be counted in the last weeks of this blog series, but their score change right now will be highlighted on the upcoming post-season recap, so stay tuned for that.

Lastly, we have a surprise addition this late into the season. It is...Youkai Watch ♪, which debuted at #34 with a 6.26 score, landing just between the wide gap of Let's Make a Mug Too & Seven Knights Revolution. Now because of this late introduction, I don't think that I can include this in the post-season recap, so unlucky for that. But what's also unlucky are the animes below it, as they all share the same brunt of losing one spot in the rankings.

And hey, we started this off in a honourable mention, so let's end this on a dishonourable mention!
This willl be Battle Athletess Victory ReSTART! which sits dead last in this season, and after weeks and weeks of losing, it seems like it will actually fall below 5.0. That is disappointing, but it is not as worse as Ex-

I heard that this week were full of great episodes (and some bad ones), but mostly positives. Which is why I can see why so many animes have gained a lot, and I'm bringing them to you. Welcome to the 10th week of this series for the Spring 2021 season.

But before you look at the list, I'm gonna announce something that has just gone thru my head. I decided to extend the series for one more week against the initial 12 weeks. Alright! First, the Top 10. FB: The Final is looking like it can take the 9.00 score next week with the gains it's having every week, and all I can say is that "wow idk if it deserves it but I'll be congratulating once its hits the milestone". And hey it's nice to see a 9.0 anime in a season, it's actually rare to get that these days.

Once you get past that, it's actually stagnant with Vivy & Tokyo Revengers only getting +0.01 & +0.02 points, respectively. But this week brought us not one, nor two, but three animes getting an 8.0 score. What an achievement, and the animes that got it have been rising for a while now. They are 86, Odd Taxi & Iruma-kun 2, nice props to them. Lastly, Zombieland Saga Revenge doing good with 7.83.

Outside of the Top 10, we have Shadows House surpassing Higehiro as the former keeps gaining and the latter keeps losing. My Hero Academia 5 finally rose for god sake as it gained +0.02 points, surpassing The Slime Diaries.

And let's keep the ball rolling, and discuss about the 7.0 tier. Koikimo (It's Too Sick to Call this Love) gained one point this week bringing it out of the danger for falling more. Slime 300 is not the case as it falls again, thus risking itself for falling. But another news this week for me is the revival of SSSS.Dynazenon, gaining +0.06 points this week. Dynazenon has been gaining for a while and hopefully it finishes on a respectable score.

Lastly, on the "everyone else" category, it seems that there are many animes losing -0.02 points, except well Osamake which lost -0.06 points, and others. And some like Mazica, Cestvs & GLOOMY gained atleast +0.01 points to save their lives, but clearly too little, too late for that.

The season sure is on its way to finishing (lol), and the first place to look at is the impressive rise of Fruits Basket: The Final. Since the anime as a series is finishing in its 3rd season, the love and the reception from hardcore & regular fans alike are surely reflected in its score right now. And with the pace that it is going, it is highly likely that Fruits Basket 3 will finish in a crowning 9.0 score, so let's observe where the score will land in the coming weeks.

Still on the Top 10, Vivy which is also doing well, has now surpassed the 8.5 zone, and with the way that it is going (and maybe a very solid ending), Vivy might surpass To Your Eternity, which is also doing well in this season on losing score bit-by-bit. The sequels of Nomad & Moriarty has stood still now this week, as Tokyo Revengers aka the AOTS on popularity keeps gaining in a steady pace.

Lastly (still in the Top 10), Odd Taxi is keeping its promise and potential, as it finally nears to taste that 8.0 score. Along with 86 & Iruma-kun 2, we might see an additional 2 or 3 animes having an 8/10 score very soon. While just outside that, Odd Taxi's sidekick on rising score, Mashiro no Oto, surpassed a falling Higehiro. MnO also gained for the first time in 2 weeks, albeit a smaller one.

Now I don't know what to tell you, but other than that, this week (outside the Top 10) is the slowest one yet. The only animes that switched spots this week are Dynazenon & Shaman King and Seven Knights & Jouran, and even then those are attributed to minor movements. And shout out to F'ed By My Best Friend, which lost points this week after a big glut last week, and yes, it is this week where the anime lost for the first time, very impressive for a softcore-.

Yet sickeningly, in this slow week in the season, Osamake keeps f**king losing a lot as it loses another -0.10 points, and with the pace that is still continuing to trek, it will likely finish just above 6.0. Which is disappointing because it started at 7.23, meaning that it had already lost -0.67 points since, a 2/3 of a full point.

And that's it for this week, for a slow week it is, I managed to still rant about Osamake's performance. After this week, we only have 3 proper updates left + a post-season recap, so stay tuned for that. That's it for me though, your boi will come back next week.
