If you enjoyed the first season and are curious about how the story continues, then give it a shot. Personally, it wasn't for me, but many other people liked it.
STORY [4/10]:
Generally, you can split this season into two main arcs (The Beast of Gevaudan and the Amusement Park arc) with a filler episode between them.
I would say that the story of Vanitas no Karte is complex and the author has a habit of withholding information and giving it to us bit by bit when we need it. And normally, I’d love that (I liked that in the first season very much!), but in this second

season, I just couldn’t handle it.
The Beast of Gevaudan arc was awfully confusing which made me zone out after a while because I didn’t understand what was going on (I could not explain the plot of the first arc for the life of me xD). The first episode was already kind of insane and I had a lot of questions about the plot (What happened with the book? Who broke the chain? Where is Noé? Where is everyone else?). However, it was fine because I thought the confusion would clear up after a few more episodes. But, no! I was lost in the plot! I was more and more confused and maybe it’s my fault, maybe I just didn’t pick up the clues. Still, the pacing was off in this arc and I think everything was horribly explained (maybe it’s better in the manga, but I probably won’t check it out).
The filler episode was okay. It was just to further develop the romantic relationship between Vanitas and Jeanne which I don’t care about. Though I have to say that I found it very funny and I giggled a couple of times.
The Amusement Park arc was much better in terms of pacing and storytelling than the first arc. This one focuses more on the characters and their dynamic which was quite engaging. I liked the conflict between Vanitas and Noé. Finally, we find out more about Vanitas’s past and he and Noé had a nice bromance moment at the end of this season.
ANIMATION [8/10]:
The animation and art are decent and of the same quality as the first season. The fight scenes are nice, not much to say there. But sometimes it felt like they put more effort into the fanservice, specifically Vanitas’s and Jeanne’s scenes.
SOUND [7/10]:
Fine. The sounds and voice acting are as good as in the first season. What I have to mention is that I love the opening and ending songs of this anime. They truly never miss!
CHARACTER [6/10]:
This season focuses more on the backstories of the most important characters like Vanitas, Domi, Jeanne and Noé with newcomers like Chloé and Mikhail. Furthermore, Vanitas’s and Jeanne’s romantic relationship grows which is fine. I don’t see the connection between them except if we’re talking about lust (because let’s be honest: it’s mainly based on that aspect). The romantic feelings feel just too forced to be believable to me. I’m also not one of the people who would want it to be a BL anime/manga because I like the friendship Vanitas and Noé share. It reminds me of platonic soulmates or something like that and I think that it’s well written.
ENJOYMENT [5/10]:
The first half wasn’t it. I couldn’t care less about what happened in the first arc and as it turns out, it doesn’t even matter that much because it never came up during the second arc. The Amusement Park arc kind of saved the whole season for me since I enjoyed it though I don’t see myself reading the manga or even watching the next season (but who knows… that could change). The comedy relief in this season wasn’t always for me. A lot of times I’ve found it to be misplaced and it took me out of the moment on more than one occasion (there’s a serious situation/talk and it cuts off to some chibi-styled comedy).

The best MHA movie out of the three, but definitely not necessary if you're not a fan of the last two.
STORY [6/10]:
The movie began with the introduction of the villain group which was an anti-quirk cult and I actually think that they were fine even though you only really get to know the leader's backstory. The fact that it revolved around quirkless people was intriguing because they were kind of forgotten in the main series. What doesn't really make sense is why almost only Japanese heroes and hero students are handling an international crisis. (Well... I guess they can't really introduce us to a handful

of new heroes but it still felt kind of odd to me...)
Most of the movie is spent with the new character Rody Soul and Deku and this part is surprisingly enjoyable (even the calmer moments).
The last part is standard MHA stuff (the hero/villain stand-off). Here, the MHA movies have a common theme of unbelievable fight scenes where the kids get so hurt that they should have been dead minutes ago. I guess you get used to it considering it's the same in the series with Deku breaking his arms three times in a row.
ANIMATION [6/10]:
The animation was fine but a lot of fight scenes overwhelmed me. So many things happened that I straight up didn't know what was going on. Nevertheless, the choreography was very good (especially in the chase scene). But in those scenes, the background suffers and loses its details which really threw me off.
SOUND [6/10]:
Not really anything to say about the music and sounds.
CHARACTER [9/10]:
In every MHA movie, there is a new character introduced: in the first movie it's Melissa, in the second it's that little boy and now it's Rody Soul. Honestly, it’s a shame he’s not in the main series. His character was well-written, likeable and hilarious. The friendship he develops with Deku throughout the movie was awesome and you actually get to know him.
The only negative aspects are the stupid decisions or actions some characters make. For example, the chase scene. I understand that Rody knows the city better than a newcomer like Deku, but come on! He's a hero student!
ENJOYMENT [8/10]:
I actually think that this was the best MHA movie (mainly because of Rody) and I watched it two times (once a few months ago and now when it hit the cinemas in my country). The cinema experience was even more enjoyable and the audience audibly laughed a few times even if the humour was a bit childish.

You want to watch something that has a similar vibe as 'Bungo Stray Dogs' and doesn't always take itself 100% seriously? Then you might like this steampunk-inspired vampire story.
STORY [7/10]:
The Case Study of Vanitas is not the usual vampire story, it takes this trope in another direction. Vampires are hidden from the normal world and no longer attack humans but they can get cursed which makes them go batshit crazy and strike anything that has pulsing blood in their veins. This is when things get interesting: Vanitas and his book are the only ones who can cure them, but this book is also the thing

that created these curses. I know, I know… It’s confusing at first, but doesn’t this already sound interesting?
The overall premise of this story is first introduced in the first episode where you are thrown into the chaos and this new world and don’t really know what’s going on (and I love when they do this!). I feel like many would say that this episode is confusing to watch but for me, it was the perfect introduction (especially the end scene was phenomenal) and it made me want to continue watching. As the season goes on, information gets thrown to us in bits and pieces when we need them to understand the plot. We always learn something new about the characters and the world itself, so it really never gets very boring.
But (and that’s an important but) the overarching narrative or goal is kind of thrown away. This anime is nice to watch from moment to moment because, throughout the season, there are small arcs where the main characters solve various incidents with vampires and curses, but it’s difficult to piece them together into the bigger picture. It feels like we don’t progress and instead get sidetracked.
ANIMATION [8/10]:
The animation is made by bones and they honestly never miss. It’s definitely similar to 'Bungo Stray Dogs' and it also has a nice change from the usual Japanese setting to a European (Parisian) steampunk city.
SOUND [7/10]:
I honestly didn’t really pay attention to the soundtrack, but I liked the English voice acting (it was actually pretty good).
CHARACTER [7/10]:
Noé and Vanitas are the main characters of this anime and they undeniably shine as a duo rather than as separate characters. Noé reminds me of a child. He has this childish curiosity, is borderline stupid and he’s kind of basic (but that's okay because the protagonists of this anime are Noé AND Vanitas!). Vanitas is this arrogant, but somehow charismatic guy that can easily get on your nerves at times. These different personalities complement each other and their bromance (as I like to call it) and their way of bouncing off each other sells this entire anime for me.
ENJOYMENT [7/10]:
I overall liked this anime. The first episode sucked me into this new world and I enjoyed my watch. The only thing that really bugged me at times was the comedic relief. It definitely reminded me of Bungo Stray Dogs’ humor (so if you already hated that, then this one’s not for you). I love BSD, but I just couldn’t get into this quirky humor and was close to dropping this series. Only in the last few episodes, did I get used to it and developed a liking.

Give it a shot if you're a fan of the franchise and want to see more of the students of class 1-A.
STORY [4/10]:
The movie starts off with class 1-A being shipped off to a small island far away from mainland Japan where they have to manage a hero agency without any supervision. This is already the first issue. Why would the hero commission ever suggest such an absurd idea? Of course, the students would be attacked by villains! They are literally magnets for trouble (as previous villain incidents in the main series show). They've only been in the hero course for a few months...
But whatever,

nobody cares about that. The movie has to start somewhere and honestly, it's not that bad. I really enjoyed watching the students work as heroes (even if they only did small jobs).
The only other issue, I had with the story itself, is at the very end of the movie (which I don't really want to spoil for anyone who hasn't watched it yet). But they don't follow what was already established in the main series. They bend the canon logic with a wage explanation and a stupid excuse.
ANIMATION [9/10]:
The animation is probably the strongest aspect of this entire movie. I loved seeing the amazing fight sequences and choreography. Yes, there were a few weird CGI moments, but they don't stick out too much.
SOUND [6/10]:
The sound didn't really stand out to me. The voice acting was good. (I watch MHA only in English and you really should give it a shot. They did an awesome job!)
CHARACTER [5/10]:
In this movie, the individual students of class 1-A each get their time to shine (at the beginning of the movie and when they fight the villain). So this is already better than the first movie.
But the villains are very cheap and mediocre (though I have to say that their designs are not as forgettable as the ones from the first movie). The main villain, Nine, is a knock-off All For One and his motivation is a bit boring. His three sidekicks and their quirks are a bit forgettable... except that one furry that is just overpowered and the other two are downright weak compared to him.
ENJOYMENT [7/10]:
Even though this review doesn't sound very positive, I really did enjoy watching it (despite all its flaws). Yeah, the end threw me off, but the movie isn't really canon so it honestly doesn't matter that much if they don't stick to it.

This season is definitely better than the first one with the amazing adaptation of Dazai's mafia past and the conflict between three organizations.
STORY [7/10]:
The story doesn't pick up where season 1 left. The first four episodes of season 2 revolve around Dazai's past from the perspective of his friend Odasaku (which is the adaptation of the second light novel) and everything after that takes place after season 1.
I read the novel before watching this season and already loved the story and the newly introduced characters there. They did a beautiful job adapting it. The tone of the first four episodes is different from the rest

of the anime and it is much more of a crime mystery/thriller, but that just makes it more intriguing.
The rest of the season is about the three-way conflict between the agency, the Port Mafia, and the Guild. It's a good concept with awesome fights where new characters with new abilities are introduced, but the reason for this conflict is a bit confusing. You kind of know what every party motivates to fight, however sometimes I completely forgot what the Guild's goal was.
ANIMATION [8/10]:
This season maintains the same top-notch animation style as the first season.
SOUND [8/10]:
For some reason, the music stood out to me more this season (probably because of the Odasaku arc). I liked this season's opening and ending more than last season's and the soundtrack really helped set the mood.
CHARACTER [9/10]:
Old characters are developed and new characters are introduced.
The Odasaku arc honestly steals the show this season, because they really took their time to establish the main characters Osamu Dazai, Sakunosuke Oda and Ango Sakaguchi and their relationship.
The Guild arc brings in completely new characters who are inspired by non-japanese authors. All of them have interesting abilities and personalities (I find Lovecraft highly fascinating). The feud between Atsushi and Akutagawa escalates further (especially in the last part of this arc) and the mini-rivalry between Poe and Ranpo was probably one of my favorite parts of this arc.
ENJOYMENT [8/10]:
Overall, I really think that this season was more entertaining than the first one and I enjoyed my time watching it.

A nice supernatural action show with a handful of humor.
STORY [6/10]:
I'm not sure why but it took me abnormally long to really get invested in the story. The concept of people with supernatural abilities isn't anything new or fresh but the combination with the detective/mystery genre definitely makes up for it. I feel like I have this kind of love-hate relationship with the plot and its pacing: Sometimes I feel like the mood is changing too drastically and it completely throws me out of the story. But sometimes the humor just fits so perfectly (for example in the first episode).
ANIMATION [8/10]:

SOUND [8/10]:
I watched the English dub and it's honestly underrated (You should really give it a try!) because it's surprisingly well done. The soundtrack wasn't that noticeable for me, so I can't say anything about that.
CHARACTER [6/10]:
Every character's name, as well as their personality, is based on a Japanese author, their abilities are based on their respective works and this idea is fascinating (this is what originally drew me in). Though, foreigners will not catch the book references unless they do extra research and watch a video about it or something. What's great about this anime is that it also gives their supporting cast more screen time. But because of that, every character feels a bit underdeveloped which will definitely change in the second season (but I just wanted to add that here, so you won't be surprised or disappointed).
ENJOYMENT [7/10]:
It took me a bit to get into it, but the anime is a fun ride and definitely worth a try.

If you're a fan of the franchise and have nothing else to watch, then you'll definitely enjoy this one (though I don't think it is worth your money).
STORY [5/10]:
The plot is pretty simple and straightforward. It was a classic hero movie which isn't really a bad thing because it was overall well-paced (and we finally see I-Island). It has a few nice plot twists (some were predictable, some were not as much), but the movie does rely on plot conveniences (Like, what are the chances that so many students from class 1-A have a ticket to I-Island?!).
ANIMATION [7/10]:

the animation is bad because it really isn't that serious. I quite liked the art. Especially, the last fight was nicely done.
SOUND [5/10]:
Not memorable at all with a few old songs from the first two seasons. Nothing new and special, but definitely not bad.
CHARACTER [4/10]:
The movie brings back half of class 1-A and it was enjoyable to see them interact with each other, but it felt like they were only really there when their quirks were needed in fights. Though, it was nice seeing a bit more of All Might in his past.
ENJOYMENT [6/10]:
I never really have high expectations for a movie from a popular anime series. I did enjoy it, but it wasn't anything too exciting. So if you're a fan of MHA, then watch the movie and you will certainly have a good time.

Certainly not a masterpiece as seemingly everyone says. Poor writing with shitty characters. Severely overhyped.
STORY [3/10]:
The concept of devils (that get stronger the more people fear them) is very interesting and somewhat unique, but the execution was very poor. The worldbuilding was weak, the power scales were inconsistent and the storyline was all over the place. Denji has the strongest plot armor I've ever encountered (I know that he's the MC and has to survive for the story to go on - but come on!) The ending was the worst part of it all. while, it just seemed like the mangaka thought of every possible plot twist, shoved them in the last ten chapters, and just went with it (sometimes it felt like I skipped chapters).
ART [5/10]:
Art is subjective and everyone likes different styles. This wasn't necessarily for me, to be completely honest. The art is average. Some panels were nice and the designs for all the devils were awesome, but most of the human faces looked the same and so most of the characters were just very forgettable.
CHARACTER [2/10]:
Before reading, I heard a lot of good things about the characters; that they feel like real people and that was the main reason why I even picked it up. But they were my biggest issue with this whole manga series.
It has the generic main trio which consists of the (kind of) stupid main protagonist, the female, and the black-haired emo who at first can't stand the MC (and normally I love such a dynamic). But this specific trio just didn't do it for me. At first, Denji seemed like a breath of fresh air but his goals were just too simple and not relatable at all (as many reviews state). Power was the most interesting character at first but just got weaker and weaker as the manga progressed. Aki was by far the best character and I really liked his story from beginning to end (I don't really want to spoil anything).
I don't know why everyone hypes up all the other female characters so much (except maybe because they are all hot). Most of them are really shallow and have very little personality (such as Reze, Kobeni, that Chinese chick). Makima is just an overall unlikeable character. I don't know what everyone sees in her. I don't even think that she's a good antagonist.
ENJOYMENT [3/10]:
It was ok (I didn't drop it completely and read through, so this means something), but I don't really see how this is seen as the next big anime adaptation. I'm not even sure if I'm going to watch it.
