Thank you for responding and it's been years since I last watched the first Ghost in the Shell adaptation. I re-watched SAC and 2nd Gig some time more recently, my other semitomboyish friend from Maryland did also, a huge Dot Hack nerd.

As for Japanese, I highly recommend Instant Japanese (super easy to download) for beginners before reading more advanced or more detailed stuff like Oxford. Although, I do recommend reading the Oxford (Japanese Verbs and Grammar) page about particles after Instant Japanese. AI can also tell which particles are overused and which ones are underused.

I thought kanji was hard, not exactly! It's the particles. The lefty pens I got from Black Friday actually do a good job helping me write kanji ambidextrously according to the Nihongodera website. That same website is a very good kanji encyclopedia too.

I'm thinking of learning Min Chinese or Southern Min (Taiwanese, in layman terms) some time. Southern Min uses particles often like in Japanese yes, but they are sometimes known to be easier with more consistent grammatical function than those we see in Japanese. Like Russian, it also lacks articles and direct object pronouns which make many notable languages needlessly complicated sometimes. My former classmate used to get completely baffled when he had to learn direct object pronouns.

Linguistics aside, that's one of the best things about Gonzo anime. Current studios and mangaka should try to attempt beautiful anime with interesting stories.

I would read indie comics instead of mainstream graphic novels in order to find that similar Gonzo aesthetics. Most mainstream graphic novels are about making money than art. In general! I'm not that crazy about battle shounen, romantic comedy, currently trending stuff or superheroes.

Your average Joe or Jane can just use AI to summarize the story of mainstream, currently trending graphic novels while developing better taste in art.

ごきげんよう、貴婦人!

Have you been studying Japanese too and what do you love most about Last Exile?

My semitomboyish friend from North Carolina loves that anime and many things sci-fi.

Silent Möbius QD was the last sci-fi manga that I read after Trigun Maximum. I also re-watched Ghost in the Shell fairly recently.
