Don't judge a book by its cover.
You're goddam right. This piece of trash embodies that statement. It starts off like any other shoujo romance, with very common themes being used.
But it just like goes off the rails man wtf.
Firstly, the characters have ZERO development. The MC started off as a kinda interesting character i guess, with his transformation into a completely new personality during his mother's divorces and remarriages. It was good, it was cool, I thought we were going to see more.

Yeah you heard me right, RAPIST BROTHER. Double trouble ladies and gentlemen, that's some elite Alabama stuff, not even those inbreeding mfs would do something like this.
In conclusion, the FL is a brother loving rape-kink indecisive mf, the brother is a half-assed rapist, and the MC (the only passable character) is a punching bag with ZERO development. Judge for yourself if you want to read.

Horimiya is like those couple tiktoks that come up on your fyp at the worst possible times, like I get it world, I CAN'T PULL BTCHES.
While reading this manga, I was completely repulsed by the multiple cute couple moments, THAT SEEM TO HAPPEN EVERY OTHER CHAPTER. I was completely and entirely perplexed and discombobulated man. was reading this, I was praying for the downfall of all the characters, especially hori and miyamura; they were way to cute for each other. I got down on my knees to pray to god that these two don't work out; maybe miyamura was gay, or hori would get into an abusive relationship, but ultimately god didn't hear my wishes (probably cause this was divine punishment).
Now before y'all get on my ass for being salty for some fictional characters' success and happiness, this manga is just that good at aggravating me.
In all seriousness, this story is pretty good. The plot keeps it simple, and realistic, not making hori some big titty generic damsel-in-distress or miyamura some super edgy 3 million iq-denser than a black hole mc.
And that's what I like about horimiya, it's SIMPLE.
It feels realistic, and not fabricated to fit some 14 year old boy's fantasies of what a relationship would look like, but it instead uses elements of developing minds and bodies to shine a different light onto the characters, revealing parts of them that are imperfect, and relatable (to a certain extent). That's what the story's all about after all: how teenagers work out relationships and realize their feelings for each other.
Although the arcs for each couple is relatively short (miyamura and hori having banged already by chap 37), its sweet, and contain moments that are hard to forget. And although I will admit that most of this manga is basically filler (again because hori and miyamura's relationship was basically set in stone since they got together), the intricacies of relationships are thoroughly explored in the rest of the manga, things like insecurities, kinks, and lovers quarrels are not shied away from; in fact they are highlighted, in all their glory and imperfection. This shows how love is never perfect, but instead love is about remembering the good moments with your partner, and always trying to replicate those moments, through hardship and obstacles.
Now that we have gone past the love part, lets talk about the comedy.
Horimiya is a rom-com (although I would certainly say it leans into the love part more) which means that there are some pretty cringe moments depending on your personal taste in comedy. In my opinion, its not bad, but not love is war tier either. Its somewhere in between. It'll make me laugh one time, but the next, I would just sit back and not react at all.
Overall, it's a good read that's worth your time. For those introverts out there (I know damn well that most of y'all can't pull btches) this is a read that would really make you wanna go and enjoy your life with those around you, and dare I say, fall in love. So yeah, give it a shot, but you might find yourself drinking at the end (I seriously considered smoking at chap 70).

I have no words for this manga.
Honestly, actions speak louder than words anyway, so lets take a good look at this things that happened in a span of 35 chapters.
1. MC confessed his love for his childhood friend they start dating
2. Side girl falls in love with MC
3. Otaku teacher falls in love with MC
4. Weird as loli girl try to seduce the MC.
"Wait a minute, nothing that bad happened so far, seems like a pretty average harem story. Maybe you're just exaggerating man."

But this. This is far from an average harem story ladies and gentlemen. In the span of just 35 chapters, the FMC got ntr'd THREE WAYS. Oh did I say they fell in love with the MC and that's it? Oops I meant to say,
THEY ALL NEARLY HAD S*X WITH HIM MULTIPLE TIMES.
In fact if this was a hent@i, then I am 100% sure the MC would've f*cked all of them already.
The story? It's idiotic. I wasn't the biggest fan of the setting. It was pretty unbelievable and the addition of magic and demons to make the situation possible, wasn't my cup of tea. But getting past that, the story just doesn't flow well. It's almost like no one wants to actually face reality. Almost like all of them are living in their own bubbles. The MC neglects what he is actually doing, and apparently doesn't feel much guilt, cause he DOESN'T STOP. The other long hair girl is delusional as well, convincing herself that she is ok with being his side chick, when it is obvious that she wants him to himself. The teacher is quite literally delusional. Morals aside of f*cking a guy who is in a relationship, but she just totally ignores her pedophilic self. She's 27 for gods sake, like act your age u social reject. The loli? We don't know much abt her but it's probably for another delusional reason. And the most delusional of them all, the FMC. How does this idiot not realize what he's doing behind her back.
The art is good. Honestly the author should just draw hent@i tbh.
I'm not going to start on the characters, I think that you can see how much I dislike them already.
Overall, if you don't like ntr, do not read this you WILL have a seizure. Otherwise, this is kinda like a guilty pleasure. You wanna hate it, but it is kinda entertaining to watch this absolute train wreck.

Black clover, aka Berserk's bitch.
Alright that might be a little too far or whatever, but you can't tell me that black clover is actually original or creative in any way.
Just like how demon slayer gets A LOT of shit for being a generic shounen with uninteresting characters, black clover should be receiving those same criticisms as well. Asta's really annoying, and he also follows the loud, energetic, and hard-working mc trope. Juno and his relationship with Asta as a rival is a certainly more unique compared to the generic trope, but to be honest that's really about it for what's different from these

2 main characters. Sure noelle's development and realizations make her an interesting character to read, but in the end she just boils down to being a strong, altruistic female mc. Not to mention, she and many of the other females also follow generic shounen tropes, like the tsundere, the kind big titty side love interest, the two faced head-over heals girl and a kudere. Nothing outstanding at all.
Now for the themes. The theme of "the monster within" has been exploited in the shounen-battle series genre for as long as dinosaurs roamed the earth. The actualization of the "monster" and the physical manifestation of it actually came later in the series, which is pretty standard compared to other shounen series, like naruto or bleach. For the actual demon itself, we don't know that much yet, but given his backstory(not gonna spoil it), I don't think that we should expect there to be a big plot twist involving it. And for how Asta and the demon get over their differences and actually work together, its pretty standard as well. Demon wants to take over host's body, host goes into some meditation mode and confronts the physical form of the demon, demon attempts to kill the host, host uses the talk-no-jutsu and convinces the demon to work together, demon and host realize that they're a lot more similar than they thought, and agree to work together. The end. Not interesting or creative, in fact the entire process took like 4 chapters, which made the development feel disingenuous and boring, because this series has been so predictable. The other themes like nobility and "suppressing your limits", are not exactly explored enough for it to be called a main theme. Most of the time these themes really only apply to Asta, or like 2 other characters and are exploited when convenient, not thoroughly inspected and explored like how I would've liked them to be.
The art is fine in my opinion, definitely above the average battle-shounen art, but the characters' facial expression and structure looks weird for some reason, it's very pointy without many smoother edges that would've made it them look a bit more realistic. But otherwise no real complaints. Character design wise I liked how the demons were drawn out with very similar basic designs, but each of them fluctuate to differentiate them from one another. For the other characters, I think it's kinda average.
World building is good, with a diverse diet of different elements and settings from common fantasy tropes.
Not much to say otherwise really. This review mainly focused on the negatives of Black clover, but in the end its a fun read if you like something like demon slayer, but want a little more depth in power system and world building, or if you just want to have a fun time without worrying too much. I personally didn't enjoy it that much, but take my opinion with a grain of salt.

You guys ever watched a Skip Bayless interview, when the hot topic is LeBron James? Well, that would be this anime(not even gonna try to remember the longass name). It's chaos, it's so bad, there are so many disappointments, yet you would still keep watching this absolute dumpster fire of a show, because it's impossible to not be entertained by this garbage.
SPOILER FREE REVIEW:

CHAN! little sister, and the rest are irrelevant. The story keeps going back and fourth, with no real end in sight. Although I am fine with romance stories with plenty of plot twists and change in love interests, this one definitely takes it too far. The anime and the conclusion was too prematurely signaled, in fact, by regular logic, this should've ended in 3 episodes. This makes the rest of the anime feel a lot more stale and undesirable to watch, considering nearly all it's plot twists and surprises are already used up. Not to mention, the plot holes in the anime just make some things not really believable at all. For example, the mc now wants to come back to the acting industry, so what about his trauma? Did he just forget about it? Nevertheless, it does have really solid art, and a good OST, so if you have spare time, I do recommend you checking it out, just don't expect anything phenomenal.
SPOILERS DOWN BELOW
The story follows our mc, who was a former child actor, in the typical high school setting. He retired from the industry, due to his mother's death on set, and ever since, he has became very rusty at acting. Determined to leave his former life of stardom behind, he pursues a normal high school life, and develops a crush on his classmate, Kachi-san. But obviously, things don't go smoothly between them, as the most popular guy in school and Kachi decide to get together. Devastated, our mc plans a revenge plot, with the help of his childhood friend(who also asked him out earlier), to make Kachi fall in love with him, then reject her in front of the entire school. Now you might be thinking: "what? that doesn't sound that bad, in fact it sounds pretty good and interesting!", well... things go south. Fast.
Given the title, you would expect after the revenge succeeds, the mc would get together with his childhood friend right? Wrong. See, she actually doesn't receive infinite plot armor from the title, because it turns out Kachi was also the mc's childhood friend(plot twist motherfricker!). So after Kachi revealed to the MC that she actually loved him forever and that she wasn't actually dating another guy, it seemed like that was it. The end, they would get together, be happy and the title would live up to it's name.
But NO.
The mc decides to confess to the original childhood friend at the festival, instead of Kachi. WHAT? Ok but this isn't that bad right? He'll just get with her, and they would live happily after ever.
But NO.
She rejects him, despite liking him IN FRONT OF THE ENTIRE SCHOOL. All I can say is that is one salty bitch, I swear.
I can keep going if I want to, but I think y'all get the point. The anime is just a dumpster fire collection of plot points from domestic girlfriend, and the undeceive characters from rent a girlfriend.
It's really not worth your time.

Solo leveling is probably the most overrated, over anticipated and overhyped manhwas I've ever seen. The entire plot is boring and predictable. MC goes on a quest in the hidden dungeon, gets stronger by obtaining more "exp", acquires stronger abilities, go out the dungeon, fights monsters with other squad members in a high class dungeon, and repeat. the system, or how the MC gets so ridiculously strong, or why he was chosen to receive this power. It's just, "oh there are monsters threatening humanity, so I gotta save people cause I gotta be the good guy". Despite the lack of direction though, I did enjoy how the story was always constantly evolving from the previous arcs. There was always a change, however, in the recent chapters, that change has became a lot more subtle. Because of the MC insane power, no one really holds a threat to him anymore. In fact, he is so overpowered, there has been no antagonist that actually put this man's life at risk in a fight. And this is why this sucks so much.
Solo leveling loves to hype up its villains. The author makes these villains seem unbeatable and insanely strong, long before the MC actually bothers fight them. For example, the king ant during the Walmart chimera ant arc. He is shown to have power that no hunter can possibly match. It easily killed the Japanese S rank hunter who was shown to be able to go head to head against the MC. It also cornered 4 S class hunters by itself, not to mention, killed basically every single S class hunter from Japan. Now, before you say, "oh those guys were weak, they weren't that strong." many of these hunters were basically the strongest in the world. The Japanese guild that these S class hunters came from were regarded as one of the best guilds in Japan, and the ant just wiped out nearly all of its members by itself, WITHOUT trying. However, as soon as the ant fought the MC, it got folded like an omelet. It's boring to see such strong, evil and interesting villains get beat so easily, with no real tension or risk. It takes away the sense of uncertainty of failure that was in the early parts of the show. Oh so you're sad that these badass villains are gone, and we would just have to wait for the MC to beat another one's ass 20 chapters later?
Oh no problem! Introducing the revival system!(or better known as ASSWIPE PLOT ARMOUR) The author realizes that if every badass villain gets destroyed, it would take away the enjoyment of the show, so now the MC can make these villains his personal bodyguards, in a shadow form, because of course, he just does not want to see these great villains go, so now they can stay in the story forever! It's so stupid, as if the author can't stand seeing characters die or smth, like cmon man, let these guys rest.
Now, we're finally done with the atrocious plot, lets get onto the characters. All I can say is that their bad. The MC is basically god, the side characters are more bland than my grandma's oatmeal, and the antagonists are all just brainless monsters. There has so far been only 2 human antagonists, who actually had personalities and motives, but don't get too excited, cause they're both dead. Not to mention, they were both just douchebags who were just bad for no real apparent reason. Not to mention, the side characters basically receive unlimited and unbeatable plot armor from anything, cause our MC would just kill anything that's remotely dangerous to them. It's so boring and predictable, and it really takes away from the potential character development that we could've gotten.
Now we're at the art. If you actually bothered to stay this long, then you might think that I'll shit on this too, but I have to admit, the art is pretty good. Not vagabond good, but it's definitely pretty good. I enjoyed the designs of the monsters, and the coloring is superb. It really is its only selling point though(at least for me.)
In conclusion, Solo leveling is just really generic and boring. There's really nothing outstanding about this except for the art, and even then, it's not enough to make up for the absolute piece of shit this is.

Ajin is like that one 29-year old cousin who still lives in his mom's basement, but when you actually try to interact with him, he's pretty cool.
I have to start this review by saying that I am not a fan of the anime adaptation of Ajin, the anime was animated poorly, and diverged from the source material, which we all know from experience, is not good.
Let's start with the characters. The mc and the antagonist are really the 2 main characters who stand out as great in this series. The dynamic and relationship these 2 have make every single chapter exciting, suspenseful, and

entertaining. I especially took a liking to the mc, due to how relatable I found him to be. He grew up with a extremely mature mindset, and took on many responsibilities that even adults wouldn't want, as a child. He was the perfect student, modest, quiet, smart and outstanding. The antagonist however, was quite the opposite. He was psychopathic, cold, absurd, and insane. As these 2 battle it out, exchanging blow for blow, the world shakes, and their ideals clash, resulting in great character development. The side characters aren't bad either. All of them were unique, and felt important enough to the story, so that we would actually care about them. My favorite side character was okabe's edgy stoner twin cousin, who was badass, hilarious, and smart as hell.
Next is the story. This is of course a shonen series, so don't expect much of fantastic storytelling or the use of literary devices. However, the pacing is great, and the arcs don't feel repetitive at all. So unlike another anime that uses the similar power of coming back to life *ahem* I'm looking at you, re:zero, the story is constantly moving forward, and the events feel fresh in your mind.
Finally the art. The art is great in my opinion. You can see clearly the evolution of the artist's style throughout the story, as it changes from a more cartoony, stereotypical character designs to a semi-realistic art style that gives the manga it's own separate identity. The 2 paged panels adds to giving the story a dramatic effect, which adds to the enjoyment of the reader.
Overall, the ajin manga is truly a hidden gem of the animanga community. It's well-paced, enjoyable, and relatively original, despite the main power system being used in other animanga. If you like fast-paced action or modern-warfare mangas, this is definitely the one for you.

This is a review up to chapter 36, because that's all I've read.
This manga is very interesting. No not interesting because it grabs your attention, but it makes me want to talk about it so much.
Let's start with the art. Although the basic art style is not anything insane, the dark shading and unique character designs are really the main highlights of this manga. Characters look unique, and most of thin and tall, often many of them have very feminine traits, like long hair, smaller hands and longer fingers, as well as more refined and smooth eyes. manga, that I have not seen before really, it makes the experience more mind-bending and interesting for the audience. The art sets the mood of a mysterious, unknown world, as secrets are being uncovered every chapter.
The characters are fine in my opinion. The protagonist is going through some pretty good development, and his relationship and chemistry with cinnibar is contradicting and has potential to lead to an interesting development and climax. Most of the side characters don't get enough depth for me to say that they're great, but I'm sure that will change as I read more of the manga. (also ghost quartz is kinda hot if you know what I mean).
The plot is well-written and paced, the information that we receive doesn't feel like it's coming at us at one time, nor does it rely on flashback moments to convey important information. Right now, it's more like a mystery uncovering plot, where the protagonist has to piece together little bits of information to get to the truth. Nothing too much to say here. I do want to add that the plot amour in this is very minimal, so that's a plus.
Overall, there's nothing to complain about. And I know that this is just the first 36 chapters, but trust me, it's really good, and I definitely recommend this to you if you haven't read it already. In my opinion, this would probably become the new gen evangelion or madoka magica, which means it'll probably be my favorite new gen soon.

I cannot believe that I am wasting my time writing this review.
If there's one thing to take away from this review, it's that don't ever read this.
For literally 100+ chapters, the amount of repetitive arcs is astounding, no it's actually incredible. The lack of creativity and common sense the author has really shines through in this shitty work of a manga. It starts off with an interesting and new concept as well as a relatively relatable mc.
But 50 chapters through, the author just ran out of ideas.

girl, blushing all the time, admiring her body and beauty in his mind. I swear to god, if he actually said what he was thinking, he would've been arrested 10 times already. My guy has no confidence, to the point it's absolutely cringe to read. Virtually no development happens between the main girl and the mc. IT'S BEEN 177 CHAPTERS, AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP HASN'T CHANGED SINCE LIKE CHAPTER 70.
I understand how romcom mangas are normally really dragged out, and just kinda repetitive, but this? This is just unnecessary at this point. Litterally there are so many opportunities for the mc to step up to the plate, but for some reason, whether it's cause he's a coward, or the constant cock- blocking from Ruka-chan, he just cannot say what he really feels.
And it's actually extra annoying, cause at some rare moments, he does say how he feels, but he talks in a extremely roundabout way, and the main girl is super dense, meaning that there's no reason for any type of communication between these 2. After all, nothing will happen anyway.
It's just hard to read after the first 50 chapters or so. If you are looking for a cute and wholesome romcom, read something else. If you're looking for a maure romance that deals with real problems, read something else. If you're looking for ecchi romcoms with lots of fanservice, read something else. If you're looking for anything remotely creative or entertaining, at this point you should just read something else.
This is just not worth your time.

This will be my first manga review.
So imagine if one day you decided to mix the Sexual and depressing moments from PunPun with a Kaneki-head ass looking mc, what you will get is boy's abyss. This manga is kinda like highschool, not because I related to this during my highschool years, because it starts off with great potential but in the end, it makes you feel so stupid that you wanna off yourself.
The more you read, the more annoying it gets, not even joking, if it wasn't for the great art, I probably wouldn't have read 42 chapters of this. The characters are

all retarded for some reason, the mc keeps going back to those who emotionally manipulated him, and the side characters are all there to serve the purpose of making the mc hate himself even more.
Personally, I'm completely fine with depressing stories and flawed characters, in fact, some of my favorite mangas and anime have both of these attributes. That's not to say that you can just mix them together, and except the work to be interesting or deep in any way, it just becomes a hot mess of depression and sex.
The main problem is the lack of build-up. I personally wasn't able to emotionally connect with any of the characters, because there was so little time for any build up to happen, before we jump into the main conflicts and stories. Emotional connections are an extremely vital part of these tragic and depressing stories, because without them, the story would just seem dull and hollow.
The themes aren't bad at all in my opinion. Dealing with abuse and emotional manipulation is a very serious issue for many people, but the characters are all used in a way that represent abuse instead of demonstrating it. For example, the teacher, represents obsession and emotional control. But she never got a meaningful background to her character that turned her into the type of person she is, she's just like that way. Of course, I'm sure it does get briefly explained when she was introduced, but again, it wasn't enough for me to connect and comprehend that.
The art is very good, and I think that's the main selling point of this manga.
