I am and have been for at least 15 years or more, completely in love with Japanese culture and society. I am learning Japanese, and plan to move to Japan to spend the rest of my life basking in their amazing civilization. It is the only country i've been to where I don't feel like I am surrounded by stupidity, greed and indifference. No amount of radiation, earthquakes or typhoons could deter me. I've never felt so at home while there, nor more emotionally devastated when I have to leave.
I love Japanese movies, music, tv game shows, dramas, and even the news. AKBINGO! is quite possibly the most entertaining television show i've ever seen, in addition to being totally adorable! I'm completely, utterly addicted to cute, thanks to Japan. I've been watching anime for around 17 years, and for the last few, little else.
I don't care what anyone else thinks on this subject; subs are the only way to really experience anime if you can't understand spoken Japanese. Bleach and One Piece converted me from the exact opposite 'noob' opinion that dubs were better. Fuck that shit, dubs are just horrible abominations and the sooner fanboys accept that cold hard fact, the better off they will be. I apologize to anyone whose superior anime wisdom i ever questioned or debated in the past. You were right, and i was just a rookie deadshit. Really, sorry.
Japanese is clearly the most beautiful sounding language on earth, and is home to the most talented voice actors, singers and idols ever. I recently started drawing again after 18 years, and discovered that there may yet be a career for me drawing manga (yeah right).
