From the get go I need to say that this anime is very overrated. For something that has a score of over 8 you'd expect a story with deeper meaning other than a guy who wants to touch boobs killing monsters. But that's all there is to it.
From that synopsis you'd expect this to be a generic shonen, but this show somehow manages to subvert that and be generic in an uncoventional way. At its core this is an extremely bad & barebones battle shonen, filled to the brim with gimmicks which try to pull your attention away from the fact of it being trash.
...
Every manga reader said that this was a "seinen masked as shonen" which is one of the cringiest things I have ever heard, second only to Denji's motivations. One of the reasons for people thinking this series is good is simply because it is so unconventional, but just being special doesn't mean its good.
This whole anime (as well as the manga) seems like a big gimmick. It always needs to be special and unexpected because nobody would be interested in something as bad and barebones as this if it wasn't so unordinary. A good show wouldn't have the only noteworthy thing being that it is special.
For example nobody seems to have plot armor because there seem to be more deaths in the series than in other shonen, in these 12 episodes a "main" character died (Himeno). Why I put her name in quotation marks is because she barely appeared for 3 episodes just to puke in Denji's mouth and then commited suicide so she could protect her crew from Katana Man and the snake demon but her demon simply gets one shot by the snake demon and eaten alive. Yes, the fights in this show are that barebones.
In other shonen there exists an intricate power system which is really interesting and keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering who will win the fight. But here there is no power system except "The more a demon is feared by humans the stronger it is" but this doesn't make sense whatsoever. Why is a Chainsaw Devil of all things stronger than anything else? By the way, I haven't mentioned that I read the manga and I know the answer to the previous question and I dont want to spoil it, but the reason a Chainsaw Demon is stronger than anything else is because the author probably thought when writing chapter 1 that Chainsaw vs Zombies is a fair fight and then forgot about it for 100 chapters and then remembered that a chainsaw devil being as strong as darkness devil makes 0 sense whatsoever and then made up an explanation as an afterthought.
Basically the power system is whatever the author says and many times it makes no sense, there is no suspense in fights when the winner of the fight is determined by whoever the author wants to win since he is making up the story as it goes.
Denji's motivations are downright cringe, there is 0 suspense when Makima is obviously the main villain, the fights aren't hype since there is no power system and who ends up winning doesn't really matter, I dont care for any character since they die randomly (like Akane killing herself off-screen) and I can't believe how people Chainsaw Man is revolutionary for nobody having plot armor... If nobody had plot armor then the ones who get killed off the most wouldn't be completely random characters and villains who appeared specifically for the arc where they will die in.
There is no greater meaning to this show. Also none of the characters have a spine, everyone does what they are told by Makima which is boring.
One thing I also want to mention is that isn't simply bad because its so unconventional, I hate it because all it has going for it is the subversion. I hate Demon Slayer yet its the utter opposite of this, following every single shonen convention there is.
Chainsaw Man and Demon Slayer are evidence for the fact how something being popular doesn't mean its good, which wasn't so blatantly true 10 years ago.
Chainsaw man is way overrated and don't let anyone mislead you to think otherwise.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
This the real "Life" manga, there is an impostor manga on this site called just Life which is a piece of shit, but this is Seizon Life.
Story - I can not put into words how good the story is. At first I thought the villain would be Scott Shelby but then it turned out to be a random guy which was very unexpected.
Art - The art is very hyperealistic, you can see pratically every hair of the protagonist's beard.
Sound - Amazing 5.1 surround audio, very good for its time.
Characters - This manga contains some of the best characters
...
ever to be put on paper.
The Protagonist - He left such a big impression on me that I have forgotten his name and I can't bother to search it up so we will skip his name. He is a very good man who is suffering from cancer, but in the manga's universe it seems that doctos have found a cure for cancer so he doesn't die.
Scott Shelby - This character is a reference to the popular thriller video game "Heavy Rain", but half way through the story it blows my expectations away when he was revealed not to be the killer.
Satoshi, "The Killer" - This man is the mastermind behind the murder of the protagonist's daughter, he is a very smart villain that loses in 1 volume. He likes traveling around the world. This is all i can say about him because he is very mysterious.
The daughter of the protagonist - she can draw good.
Conclusion : this manga is a masterpiece that amazingly adapted it's source material (heavy rain) into a manga form. 10/10 - must read.

!!! THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS !!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!!
Before I read this manga people had told me it was "The best drama manga of all time" and "a masterpiece". I went to this page and saw that it had a rating of 8.6/10 so it must be good since the majority of people say its good right?
I couldn't have been more wrong.
1) Story - It's just pathetic. The writer of this manga must have been suffering from either amnesia or dementia because half of the story is just ass-pulls or random occurances.
It's like they weren't able to make up a narrative that
...
spanned more than 5 minutes so they just wrote 12 absolutely random plot points and rolled dice to pick which one they'd use.
At the beginning it's shown that Yuu (I had to look up his name because 0 characters are memorable in this) killed three people because he went berserk after his younger brother decided to kill himself and threw himself on the road where a car ran him over, and we are supposed to feel bad for this dude? What the fuck?
The mangaka later realized that sympathizing with a fucking murderer isn't very easy for sane people (which they aren't), so he literally changed up the story (remember, this mangaka has amnesia) so that his brother didn't commit suicide, his death was actually ordered by a mysterious criminal mastermind who was dressed in a suit. Why it was ordered, we don't know and we never find out.
After this happened, Yuu was called by the police and went to see his brother's dead body after it was picked up by the medical staff (none of this shit happened the last time his backstory was explained). He leaves this place and continues walking, reminiscing in the old times when he played with his brother and starts to cry a little, but then he sees a woman with her daughter and the daugther was waving at him randomly, kids do this in real life trust me.
He smiles a little after seeing this and approaches them, but then suddenly the mysterious criminal mastermind walks next to Yuu and roasts Yuu's brother: "HAVE YOU EVER HEARD A SOUND A PERSON MAKES WHEN THEIR HEAD IS RUN OVER?". I do not know if this was a hallucination because none of this makes any sense. Yuu takes the umbrella of the woman and her daugther, but in a fit of rage pushes them on some train tracks nearby and kills the criminal mastermind with the umbrella. A few seconds later a train comes and kills the woman and her daughter.
And then we spend 7 chapters where somehow this dude is portrayed like a good guy. Blah blah blah the girl and Yuu talk and they get closer and then eventually Yuu gets hanged because he was on death row. Boo hoo so sad.
TLDR; 3/10, its bad, pretentious and nonsensical.
2) Art - One of the okay things about this manga. And I said ok, not good, the backgrounds are bland, and in some cases they are just plain white. 90% of panels are just people standing there and talking with no change in their posture. Boring, but okay.
TLDR; 6/10 - nothing special.
3) Characters - This is just a 1/10 from the get-go. I cannot remember even one character's name from this manga without searching it, and no, I don't have amnesia like the mangaka, they are just so unmemorable and boring that it just entered and exited my ear.
And that is an overstatement, since only like 5 characters have a name in this motherfucking garbage. The other 10 you see are just unnamed people who appear for a one-off situation. Im now going to analyze the amazing characters of this manga:
The protagonist - Her mother, who is a world renowned pianist, hates her because her birth marked the point when the mother's fingers stopped working. She then gets raped by her piano instructor and she tells this to her mother but she beats her up and tells her to not mention it again. Then she tries killing herself a couple of times and tries killing her mother but she is saved by the piano instructor. In the ending, she forgives her mother for some retarded reason and lives happily ever after.
Her mother - She beats the protagonist up and hates her. Thats the end of her characteristics.
Yuu - Depressed boy who randomly murders 3 people in a fit of rage, after which we are supposed to feel sorry for him. I heard that many people cried when he died. Such fucking crybabies, I honestly laughed when he died and I'm no psychopath, it was just funny looking at a murderer get executed like he should have been in chapter 1.
The warden - He is there to comfort Yuu when he is sad.
Monica the Nun - same as the warden.
Mysterious criminal mastermind dressed in a suit - Honestly the only reason i give it a 2 in characters, the mystery of this man leaves me baffeled for all the wrong reasons. The only reason he is mysterious is that the mangaka of this work forgot to explain 90% of this manga's story and just ended it on chapter 8.
Other 20 unnamed characters - They are still better than the main cast.
TLDR; 2/10 because of the mysterious criminal mastermind.
4) Enjoyment - The only reason I gave this a 2 is because the manga only has 8 chapters, so at least it gave me mercy because I wouldn't be able to handle more than 10 chapters of this garbage.
TLDR; 2/10 because its short, otherwise 0/10.
OVERALL: -1000/10 - Worst piece of fiction I have read in my whole lifespan. I hope the mangaka stops writing and drawing manga forever because they are honestly wasting their own time making this pretentious garbage.
I can take a shit and wipe my ass a couple of times, collect the shit stained papers and staple them together and add a cover to look like a manga, and the resulting product would still be deeper and more enjoyable than this motherfucking pile of horseshit.
TLDR: YUU, REST IN PISS MOTHERFUCKER
