This anime is about two aspiring voice actor and actress (seiyuus) and their special kind of bond that healthily influence each other's lives to do their best in their craft.

Chikako, has a stage fright due to her previous professor's strict way of teaching, which lowered her self-esteem and her confidence in portraying her roles.

Minato, on the other hand, is new to voice acting and does a decent job but lacks the emotions and doesn't quite understand how to "breathe life ... into a character".


I like how the characters are portrayed in such a way that it's convincing. Like, I could see a person like Chikako or a Minato in real life and I wouldn't be surprised. I could somehow relate to Chikako's stage fright and Minato's frustrations because I know it can happen to me and to anyone.


Animation-wise, it's beautiful. It's not the type of beautiful that you would see in anime movies but I would not say that it is "just good". I mean, it does its job in immersing me into the "inspiring" vibes and when important scenes happen, the animation and art perfectly complements the atmosphere that the scene just flourish and sparkles naturally.

Perhaps I can say it's above average, I guess.

Oh, yeah, the voice acting is great. It should be. It would be quite ironic and hilarious if an anime about voice acting would have terrible seiyuus, right?

(Oh gosh, imagine a parody anime about crappy seiyuus... anime gods! can you hear me?! Make it come true!! Lol)


Overall, the story is decent enough is you have the time and it certainly wouldn't disappoint you, especially if you are fond of the Shoujo genre.

Thank god for changing the studio, now this, THIS, is what I like to see!

Like, seriously, compared to the (thou-shalt-not-be-remembered) first season, the animation DRASTICALLY turned up so fine that I desperately wish they continue this quality of animation up till the end (or else... *cries in the void*)

Things I appreciate in this adaptation:

- the pacing is surprisingly not that bad (although not that good, too... such is the fate of game-turned-anime shows)
- no awkward CG's yey!
- the "objection" animation is more natural and not that emphasized and over-the-top (although still kind of is... but yah get what I mean)
- there are actually behind-the-scene things ... that happens whenever an investigation-thingy happens (ex. Phoenix Wright talking to Detective Gumshoe while Maya is searching around and messing with some stuff). this is an important and crucial thing that the first (thou-shalt-not-be-remembered) season missed the mark on... but this season DID! so... yey!


Can't wait to see if Ace Attorney anime redeems itself! <3

"CG Anime! Oh noes!!" (lol i'm not that good at sarcasm)

Okay, sure, we still prefer our good 'ol 2D beauties but let's not judge here, alright?

And besides, at least it's a full-on CG anime... and not a crappy-2D-that-suddenly-gets-a-crappy-out-of-place-CG

Also, I'm a girl that watches RWBY (speaking, it has a new season *cries* so many anime, so little timeeee), therefore I'm more open-handed and accepting when it comes to this style of animation.
...
So yeah, Himote House... it's about the lives of 5 girls (and a talking cat) living within the same dormitory which Tae-chan, a newcomer in the household, straight-out named it Himote House, because why not?


I watched the first episode and in the early first half of the episode I was like "Oh, just another girl that arrives in a dorm where she meets new friends" then the latter half of the episode happened and my face went "WTF am I watching?! Why did you show each other's panties? You just met today!!" "Powers, what? WTF, ENERGY BEAM! Oh, a talking cat! How nice! WTF you just did a KAGEBUNSHIN NO JUTSU!!"

And then I went ahead and watched all available episodes...

...aand yah know, despite all its weirdness (which is exemplified by the animation style and a sprinkle of magical influence), it's a pretty chill show that shows the daily lives of 5 people and their interactions and antics.

To be honest, it's very refreshing and I'm glad of the decision of making it full CG because it fits the chill, nonchalant 'i-don't-give-a-crap' atmosphere that Himote House has (heck, the opening song fits this anime so well <3)


They have an episodic format where they:

- talk about a certain topic during the day
- they apply/test out whatever the heck they learned 'till sun goes down
- night comes, and they do a "queen of the *insert random thing*" and they each take turns of doing the thing. (ex. queen of metal voice, each character holds out their phone and sing as raspy as possible, then the most hilarious one wins, i guess, since they don't really announce the winner because we only see them laugh and the animation fades out into their house and into the night sky, then cue the ED song... which is only instrumental but still nice to listen to.)


And by following this format, Himote House created a chill, yet amusing, show that is easily watchable (its only 12 minutes long per episode).


So yeah! Give this show some slack and enjoy what it offers! At least watch the first two episodes and you'll see what I mean by "chill, yet amusing".

Yey it's another one of those bishounen music shows!!


I admit, this genre of anime is so common yet it still gets me and I always wondered that draws me into these type of shows:

- is it the bishounen?
- is it the drama?
- is it because of how extra this type of show tend to be?
- is it the songs (*whispers*that they keep on singing over and over again?)

No matter the reason may be, this genre of anime turned out to be one of those guilty pleasure type of shows that I watch, even if they turn out to be crappy or cliche in the end ... (which most of this type of shows sadly fall into)...

But hey, the premise of a guy being a ghost singer for a male idol is new to me so I started watching it...


And oh boy, I can feel the drama already!


But don't get me wrong, I currently love what I see in the events that transpired in the 4 episodes that I just binged-watched. And, it's not your typical bishounen music show... it has this mysterious flair due to the premise and conflict of the show and whenever a new crisis or behind-the-scene things happen, they spice up the story in a way that makes you crave for answers (*whispers* and because it's a 15 min. per ep. long, you'll be left on a cliff hanging for your dear life)


Oh, and there are female idol groups in this, as well. So, this is technically "not" a bishounen music show... but the feeling and aura that I get whenever I watch those type of shows exist in here, so I'll categorize this show as one and the same.


All in all, I'll go on ahead and continue watching this and for now...

... As a fan of the original source (game), I only watched this just so I could see how the anime would adapt and portray Zack and Rachel.


As a fan of the game, there are ups and downs on how they did the anime. Like, heck, why did they change one of Catherine's obstacles into a fricking dollhouse... it was originally an abyss with several narrow columns spaced far away from one another as their only support to cross to the other side... that or a rope so thin it could break... not to mention that at random moments guns would shoot them and potentially lose their balance and fall into their deaths. That, and they went on their separate ways because Zack can't cross using the rope and Rachel can't jump too far between the columns...

...I'm getting off-track, back to the anime itself


Yes, I can understand why people could hate the anime without knowing the original source first... because it was originally a game, hence the puzzle-solving aspects and the each-floor-is-a-new-challenger-kinda thing. And that I felt that each of the "villains" was not given enough "tension" and their resolve and character was not properly adapted (in my humble opinion), that's why anime-watchers only didn't connect enough with them and didn't feel their presence enough to be intimidating (like, if they made this with two seasons with 24 episodes total, they could have expanded and put up each of the villain's back story, which was available in the manga adaptation... *shrugs*)


But then, sure it was quite disappointing but like I said at the beginning, I loved the game because of Zack and Ray, and that really, it was said at the summary of the anime that this is about the two of them and their strange promise at one another and their obstacles that they face in each floor. And the floor bosses actually served each of their purpose... to put up a psychological damper in both Zack and Ray.


Edward Mason, his resolve in putting Rachel in eternal rest due to him knowing Ray's past was because his past (I won't spoil them here, read the manga instead) shaped him into a character that turns those that he kills and buries into his treasures and that became his form of love... thus his desire to end Ray's misery.

Catherine Ward, with her strong belief and prejudice that knows no bounds (her backstory in the manga just emphasized that), and that she truly believes in her own power of condemning those she hails as criminals... no exceptions. But it was her observing nature and beforehand knowledge that makes her a threat to Zack and Rachel's relationship. I like to think of her as a prosecutor that explains her reasons and views... before mercilessly killing those she found guilty.

Danny Dickens... as his name implies, he's a d***
...lol sorry got carried away there, He deserves to be the main antagonist of this series due to his connections with Rachel and his past. I absolutely loved his character development the most and I thank the anime for actually fleshing out his resolve and desires... (ep. 16... "...mother!"... seriously, I don't remember him saying that in the game but it made his character closure so much better!).

And lastly, Gray (lol I just searched the character list and apparently, his last name is Abraham haha good to know). He is the most mysterious character out of all of them since we don't know much about him. All we know is that he's the "god" of the building that our protagonists are trapped in and that he's the one leaving those cryptic messages that Rachel sometimes find in some of the floors. Yes, he does attempts to kill Rachel at one point but that is after evaluating her and giving her trials and tests that would let him assess her morals. I would spoil if I keep on talking about him so watch the anime instead.


I think the reason why people didn't like the anime because they thought since this has a boss-per-floor thing, the action scenes will be the focus. This ain't shounen guys, this is horror... specifically, psychological horror.

Therefore, don't expect jumpscares and gross things. Find them someplace else. Not here.

The main obstacles are not the ones that are physically present (strength of the enemy), but rather, it was the situations that is presented by each of the villains that is the real threat to our protagonists.

It was a battle... a clash of ideals.
With our two protagonists right at the center, their decisions and inner workings of their minds shaping the series. They adapted Zack's and Ray's relationship with each other so well that I actually teared up in one of the later episodes due to how good it was.


Okay, I talked enough.


As a fan of the original source, I'm happy with how they adapted this anime.

Hi there, amateur reviewer here. This time its an OVA of Little Busters. This is more like a breather episode where you can relax for a while from the emotional feels you are getting from the entire Little Busters series. Watch this before watching Little Busters EX and after watching Refrain.

Story: 8

This OVA is about the daily lives of our lovable characters with a twist... well not much. Remember the battle and ranking/title system they always play, with weapons and stuff and if you lose you'll get an embarrassing nickname - ... this OVA elaborates and focuses on that. Oh that and the wise "advises" Kurugaya-san gives to her friends. Ohohohoho.

Well, the art is amazing as you would expect and... pfffft--- don't skip the ending theme. Just don't.

Just finished rewatching this series (yeah rewatching since nostalgia hit me and I'm bored so why not?). I'm rating this as a person who has not played all of the starry sky game franchise (I've only played Spring... Suzuya-samaaaa//slapped) so I don't have the capability of comparing between which is better or worse. That's why I can rationally say that this anime is a good watch if you just want something light and fluffy and a must watch if you're planning to play the game itself.

Story: 7

Okay, this anime is about a girl who loves astronomy so she decided to enroll to ... a school that specializes it. The school recently became co-ed so she's the only girl in the whole academy. Erm, we definitely heard about that plot before so what makes this series slightly different from the rest? It's the atmosphere. Watching it made me feel at peace. Like a poem... or maybe a karuta. The anime sings and has it's unique melody for each episode that makes you cling to it even though it is all just speeches. Haha

Art: 8

Art is good though there are times that the animators got lazy and they just spawn pictures. Though they are nicely drawn, I would still like them to move, you know.

The ending theme is just... no effort. I understand, though because of budget issues but... sigh.

Sound: 7

No opening song. They have no time for that because if they did, there would be no show because... there would be no time *laughs*

But they made up with their seiyuus (I like the female protagonist's voice... it suited her). The opening song is okay, no complaints.

Character: 9

This is where Starry Sky shines - their beautiful sets of handsome shounen, all according to season. Because that's what this anime is all about, introducing these guys and their backstories. Each character represents a certain zodiac sign, which they represent astoundingly. My sign is Cancer and my best friend's sign is Taurus and this show hit the bulls-eye for each of our sign. That's why I assure you that you can definitely enjoy this anime... because it connects to its audience.

Enjoyment: 8

Like I said, this anime is like a poem that sings. It touches your soul and makes you feel at peace. It speaks to you by speeches of harmony. It makes your heart aflutter for each character. Definitely a shoujo worth watching.

All in all, watching and rewatching this series made me search youtube and search for video walkthroughs of the game series because I want to know more and explore every lovable character in this series. Because they're awesome and I especially want to explore more of their stories and how they connect to the female protagonist. And love their stories.

I just finished this season of Nisekoi just now. Here's my short and brief review about it.

Oh, there's a little spoiler here so I suggest reading this after watching.


Story: 7... oh wait no, let me give it an 8

The vibe of the first season is still there with Raku as your typical dense yet charming shounen. Plus, the leading girls are also there, with brute force (yes, i'm talking to you, Chitoge *hides beneath curtains*).
But in terms of story progression about your "Ms. Promise Girl" ...sorry but unfortunately you won't find those hints these season. Yeah, I was quite disappointed too because ... I was getting my mind and heart ready for these hints but... huhuhu.

By the way, this season tackles about and gives an overview about all the leading girls like their pasts and such and I'm quite amazed how they fit those in 12 episodes. Plus, one character stood out so much for me so much this season and the very reason why I changed my score to 8.

Art: 10

Yep, still as cute as always. The animation passed with flying colors. The opening theme is cool (the animation of it is superb) and the ending theme is okay. Though those fanservice was a bit overwhelming for me... especially the magical shoujo episode. If they should have just turned that into an OVA, they would have time for story progression but well... it's fanservice and they increased their cuteness with frills and fur so I forgive them.

Sound: 9

Those cute voices are out again, yipee~ ehem. The seiyuus are doing their job marvelously. Opening song and ending songs are great. No complaints here.

Character: 8

Maiiiikoooo!!!! You shone so bright this season, I give you my praise~ *sobs*

Anyways, I wanted to give this a nine but I decided not to because because some characters stood out so much that it shadowed the other characters. Because of the spotlight they gave to the leading characters, they didn't have enough time to focus on enlarging our knowledge on our newfound species/characters. Though I think Paula got hers enough and Haru too much, Fuu-chan (in case you can't remember, she's the girl with the big side braid) faded in the background. I'm so curious about her identity since she showed up in the opening theme but all she got was a short introduction, nothing more.

But if you're gonna ask me if there are character developments, yes there are plenty. Yet if you'll gonna ask me if there are a progress on the romance part, sorry no confessions... yet.

Enjoyment: 9

I know some people didn't like this season because it doesn't show much about the promise girl or the story progression is quite slow but for me, I quite enjoyed it. The element of blushing and love still exists through the entire season. It's a little more tamed than the first season yet it is still satisfying and still bring the sweet love story you crave for Nisekoi.

Overall: 9

This season of Nisekoi gave me a new light and perspective on some characters (Maiiiikoooo~ ehem) and even though it has its flaws, it is a great watch and leaves you hanging for season 3 which I hope would fulfill the gaps that this season left behind.
