Certainly:

  • V by Thomas Pynchon

This book is rather complicated and may be a bit overwhelming. Certainly there were sections of it that left me scratching my head, but the standard of the writing is incredible.

  • The Stranger by Albert Camus

Very short, wonderful book that imagines a man who rejects all social norms and lives only for himself.

  • The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers

Southern Gothic novel about several characters living in the Southern USA during the 1950s or so, each one of them battling feelings of intense loneliness.

  • Lucky Jim by Kingsley Amis

Perhaps one of the funniest novels I have ever read. I don't see many people talk about Amis which is a shame, his writing is excellent.

  • Nausea by Jean Paul Sartre

Provides an introduction to Existentialism. I read it several years ago and felt I didn't understand it entirely, but those parts I did grasp I found myself in agreement with.

That should give somewhere to start. Consider the recommendations in descending order. If you already read one, simply skip it.

Lol 15% compatibility isn't bad, I've had negative with quite a few people. I have been meaning to check out Arise eventually but it's just not extremely high on my list. I get the feeling that doesn't have a lot of what made SAC stand out, or would I be wrong about that?

Uhh, thanks? I guess :D

You were right. I like that a lot.

I can't believe how good she is at cleanly jumping from one note to another!
