An incredibly silly premise played surprisingly seriously. Mito looks like your usual gorgeous shoujo female lead but grew up doing farm work and is the most hardy person around. So all the pretty boys around her seem real weak in comparison so she has zero interest. The lead character is just learning about helping out at a pet clinic so there's a lot she has to pick up but she's fairy perceptive when it comes to the wants and needs of people and their pets. Deals with some heavy pet related topics but ones even children may have to face one day.For example, the very first chapter addresses the issue of how a child might feel when his big strong dog is getting weak and older and needs him to be there for her. I was indecisive between scoring this a 7 or an 8. But I have decided it must land itself an 8. The art style is definitely not for everyone. This isn't a story about some cute and fuzzy animals. There's sweetness to be sure, and tears, but it is the struggle of life with some really strange looking critters. Many of whom have oddly human faces, I suppose to more easily put across their expressions.
But despite that oddness there's still something engaging about reading this. All centered upon a baby who brings something unexpected to the world, more than just being a bundle to be ...

Being a mi-monthly series and sitting at six currently out it may seem a bit early to give this a score of any sort. Despite the simple premise of a strong girl needing to protect the lead it is done in a way I find to be absolutely charming.
The interactions between the two main characters, Kagari and Takimya makes for plenty of funny but also sweet moments. One of the elements I like best is how the powerful female lead doesn't smack around the male lead, all too common in other series for my tastes. Even better, she doesn't try to him him away. ...

Being a lover of dogs I just had to try this out. Mostly expected it to be silliness considering the premise. And it does have plenty of laughs. But there's some good emotional content to it as well. Worries of caring for someone you can't quite understand because you are so different but still sticking with it because there's love. Wrap it up with some adorable artwork and some continually doggish behavior from Ponta and I'm charmed.
