Honestly, I think it's likely to leave a "bittersweet" taste on every watch. The whole ride is a very wholesome one but so much so that it's bitter for it to come to an end... But of course that doesn't really take anything away from the series. I think the one thing I'd wish for would be an epilogue episode to show us a glimpse of the "happily ever after", but that's fine.

Even seeing posters for the anime makes me feel bad on the inside for now but maybe you could enjoy it again now that so much time has passed. Good luck either way!

Hey man, I finished Golden Time today. I actually binged the last ~5 episodes as I just couldn't stop. I'm not new to anime nor the "emptiness", at all, but it still left me feeling so, so empty that I had to "relax" by reading other people's experiences with that emptiness after finishing a series... After checking a few reddit posts, I coincidentally stumbled upon your comment from 2 years ago with the same feelings that I'm having for Golden Time! As you wrote in there, I'm also not someone who likes to talk anime with people and I'm sure my girlfriend would also laugh at me if I were to share this painful state with her haha. I wanted to thank you for being a nice coincidence and cheering me up with your comment :). I'm really happier about seeing you than I might seem here hah. Honestly I'd be a wreck if it didn't have a happy ending :/.

The anime had flaws, for sure, but the enjoyment and connection was far beyond the flaws.
