Well, I haven't thoroughly tested this out, but somewhere in Volume 8 or Gokuraku Seishun Hockey Club I thought, I wonder if this is an intentional parody of Ouran High School Host Club? At least some of the time, anyway. Ouran is certainly famous enough to be parodied. There's a girl forced into a boy's club, which is totally unlike the Ouran Host Club, but the male members are rich, there is a set of twins, there's the glasses-wearing intellectual type, and there's a pretty boy (OK, he's not as short as Hunny). The heroine is somewhat odd and somewhat detached, too. The purpose of the club seems to be somewhat ill-defined in both cases. At one point the leader of the club announces a plan for the club to take on the noble cause of getting a prince to stop hating Japan, very much like Tamaki takes on noble causes. In any case, it's not a close parody. I mean, Ouran is itself a parody of other things. But it's fun to think about. You can look for your own similarities and differences.

They are both really a series of 5 minute shorts about everyday life, in the case of Chi it's a cat, and in the case of Kaa-san, it's about children mainly. The art is a little cuter in Chi than in Kaa-san, and there is more of obviously autobiographical aspect in the Kaa-san series, and also there is more of a continuing story with Chi (this also applies to Chi's New Home, by the way). But both are a story of funny, cute, even touching moments in the daily life of Chi or a mom.

Well, the aura of competition and the amazing abilities of the main character seem to be the same. The progression in revealing the character and skills of the main character seems to be the same, as well. The main differences are that One Outs is much more adult in content and tone, and we're dealing with more of a team sport since it's about baseball rather than tennis. The characters in One Outs are much more adult-looking as well, but I believe some people (OK, I mean women especially) can definitely find something to feast their eyes on! In addition there's quite a bit about gambling, both in the strict sense, and as a personality trait.

Well, it's about a boy who gets turned into a girl (all the way down to his/her genes) but still for 6 years has been trying to get turned back into a boy (it was an evil genie that did it). The genie reversed his wish to be the manliest of all men. So it isn't surprising that now she's beautiful, but can fight really well. She starts attracting a group of guys ranging from the pervert geek to the tough guy gang leader. There's a LOT of physical fighting going on as well. She is beginning to realize that her memories of how boys think at age 9 has not kept up with the way boys think at 15. Maybe she doesn't think as much as a boy as she once did. But she doesn't quite think like a girl either. The art isn't at the same level as Pretty Face, however.

Doujin Work

It's a short comedy about the manga/animation business, both with a female character as the lead. Both are quickly and hilariously overwhelmed by the realities of their new chosen activity, whether work or hobby. Both of them were about equally funny, and both give insight into our (the viewer's--that's us, the MAL user!) interest.

Also Cosprayers (TV) and Cosprayers (Movie). All of these are the show that they are making during Smash Hit! with the same characters, but now they are playing their roles in the show.

I agree with the other person--boy disguises himself as girl to attend school. Similar art, I think, too.

Probably more people have seen Ouran High School Host Club than I My Me! Strawberry Eggs, but if you haven't seen it, it's about a girl persuaded into posing as a guy at school. Otherwise the guys in the host club are definitely of the shounen type because they too frequently cross the gender line. The show is a hilarious comedy satirizing the whole boys love genre among other things. Even if you didn't like Strawberry Eggs, you might like this!
