I watched both series expecting some fine hand to hand combat, and both delivered well in that aspect. The spotlight goes to the fight itself, if that what you are looking the series have well animated and choreographed fights. It was fun and eye pleasing. One difference is that Kengan has a bit more serious tone.

Share the same setup, the transfer student challenging the school in a over the top themed battle. It is enjoyable to watch the though process and revelations that ocurs in each duel. Both MCs are likeable as well. And one more thing they have in common is the fan service. I feel is not out of place is this kind of shows, if it didn´t bother in one series it shouldn´t bother in the other.

The story elements are very similar, cursed MC forced to move out, then met the Main hero (movie title) to overcome a major conflict. As usual Ghibli is the GOAT of worldbuilding, aside for the stories we are witnessing you feel there is great and alive world out there with so many interesting nuances that you just take a glimpse. Very enjoyable watches, Howl focusing on personal growth and Mononoke on enviromental awareness.

This series are a battle royale for a God-like power as a reward. The interesting thing in both is that the victory is decided mostly through making the right alliances and applying tactics rather than raw power, wich obviously gives an edge anyway.

The main and probably only reason to compare these two series is the Rui character who has a very similar development as Violet. A journey of self discovery, when she learns to deal with the new emotions she feels and understand her own hearth.

This series show some serious stuff and little bit messed up stuff, the main characters being underage made great contrast with the hard truths they have to deal with. I can assure you both series are going to leave a lasting impact in you as viewer.

Series with fast paced action extremely fun to watch. There is a plot in both series but is kind of shallow, the stakes aren't that hight but we are all here for the hype of the next fight.

Aside from the obvious mecha genre i got the same vibe from the characters. Everyone, especially the MCs are damn serious about the matter at hands, they may be underage but they know the game well and are ready to play and gamble against the big shots. Even the more naive character get her shit together mid-season.

The series are about dealing with the scars left by the war. Both protagonist figure out how to deal with their traumas through a new job, trying to understand themselves by performing such activities and meeting new people. And they both have metal arms (obvious).

The duels have the same aura there is a tactical thinking before engaging, it is not about raw power. With the weapons involved any misstep is lethal. Characters rely on applying the right technique and/or tactics rather than their power level.

Death is not the end of the road, at least not for everyone. Both series deals with how hard is to move on, some people can't and some just don't want to. The series bring the supernatural element in a kind of "realistic" way without spookyness or something like that.

Mind games and ecchi. The MCs are pretty likeable in both series, i liked the way they enjoy the game itself while everyone is worried about the stakes.

Series about criminal mastermind pulling strings for an ulterior motive. The investigation teams in both series are similar, carried cast of characters with different personalities who fit their role in the story quite well. There is also a supernatural (B) / sci-fi (PP) element to spice things up. A element i really liked about both shows is the wildcard player with his own agenda in the middle of the plot.

Both have similar extremely over the top characters and action scenes. The art style, setting and even the speeches feel like a shared universe.

Aside from the obvious "rebel group fighting tha corrupt government" theme. What really got me in both series are the characters interactions, the entire cast is a joy to watch bouncing on each other, there are no boring boring characters in either Night Raid or the Sins. PD: if you are on the market for a waifu there is a nice catalog of girls with actual personality to choose from in any of these. not the typical helpless dumb girl waiting for the hero (aside for certain princess)

Masterminds engaged in a tactical fight with some extra spice, mechas in CG and magic in Fate/. Both shows their respective worlds as morally gray, no one is 100% good or bad.
