I legitimately think this is one of the most underrated mangas of all time, I won't understand anyone giving this manga a score lower than 9.
Anyways, if want to know why this manga is so good, just look at other reviews that have enjoyed this manga as much as I have.

(This was where my review was gonna end but MAL doesn't let short reviews get posted, so here I go I guess)

I think the thing this manga does the best is genuinely surprising you and keeping you on the edge with its repeated plot twists, and these plot twists are revealed so fucking masterfully that ... they all make sense from the perspective of our main character and the information we have as a reader.

The other thing this manga does great gives you genuine horror while reading it. This could be the most underrated aspect of this manga but the art is genuinely drawn so horrifyingly well that the plot twists have literally given me more chills than most horror mangas failed to do. The psychological horror aspect of this story is what makes it a fucking 10/10.

People say that perfect mangas don't exist that's why they don't give anything a 10, but I follow the idea that if a manga does anything beyond what I expected from this medium of art then it has pushed the boundaries of what manga as an entertainment medium can achieve with the story, and this manga does this with being one of the most cleverly written plots and characters with genuinely horrifying art in the best moments.

I think this is one of those mangas that you should definitely try to read in your life time.

Holy shit, this is probably one of the most overrated things I have read in a long time. I hope this is one of those things that I couldn't get because after 20 chapters or so this is probably one of the most boring mangas in terms of story and character writing I have read. I cannot believe I was foolish enough to manage to read through it expecting something good at the end.

The story loses its initial hook very quickly when you realise any fucking random thing is possible with the author's convenience, it does not even have a basic consistent power scaling system ... that most shonen mangas have and the fights have 0 suspense or tension behind them.

I wish I could say at least one of the characters was interesting but all of them are very one dimensional and most of them seem to serve no fucking purpose in the grand scheme of things but the author wants to forcefully enter them somehow in every context.

The only good thing about this manga is it sometimes looks great with the art, and the side stories were almost okay i guess ?
But the main take away is that at least for me this manga did nothing good to justify reading 127 chapters. I wish I could say this was an average shonen manga, but at least for me, this manga had nothing to offer after 50 or so chapters to warrant even reading the whole thing.

I will be quick, I was waiting for adaptation of this manga since it was so well written and drawn amazingly. The trailer was immediately a hint to the quality of the show. (Expectations : 2/10)

Calling this anime a disappointment would be wrong since I didn't have any great expectations to begin with, but embarrassing would be correct. The source material has everything that a good anime needs and wouldn't require any alteration in terms of writing or even direction of fights. Just the animations should be satisfactory that at least makes us feel the fight scenes has any impact, but the animation in this ... anime is way worse than watching a good still panel of art it takes everything in terms of power scaling this anime has. (Animations or Art : 2/10)

As for good things I would say the voice acting and music is pretty good and even makes the anime/characters enjoyable at many places. (Sound : 8/10)

Even the characters feel decent at some points since source material is so well written that it would be hard to fuck that up. (Characters : 7/10)

But the pacing is horrendous, and the stiff animation is a major turn off.
It's not something that the phenomenal voice acting and astounding music can carry on their backs. (Overall : 3/10)

And people blaming the studio and giving them death threats is just fucking stupid, in most cases the studio always suffers due lack of time and employees being overworked due to the tight schedules, so there is a lot of nuance in this matter and blaming any one particular thing for this is just dumb.

TLDR;
Anime has bad animations and stupid pacing but has very good voice acting and sound track which amplifies some of the moments but it alone cannot carry the lack of former things. Studio did a decent job probably given that tight schedules are common since it is a Netflix adaptation.

The characters are kind of fun to watch because of the excellent source material but it is way better in the manga with good action sequences so doesn't make sense to recommend this anime instead of the manga.

If you enjoyed the anime then good for you and you should read the manga too imo since characters writing is way better and fights feel more impactful.

Gonna keep it short.

The only reason this is a 9 for me instead of 10 is because for me the anime lost its appeal mid series or I should say the story aspect of the series went to shit mid series after a certain characters death.

But the first half is felt to me so amazing and unique (at the time I watched) that was I had never seen before in terms of character writing, the direction, the sounds, and the sheer attention to detail and the philosophical battle between the defination of justices of characters. This alone is the reason that this anime is a ... must watch.

But after a certain character's death and introduction of new characters as its replacement was intresting but the execution was awful, some parts of that half destroyed build up by the previous character and the some of the things happening were nonsense with respect to story.

But credit where credit is due , last episode was a banger , the direction and the suspence was very good , and the ending was satisfying even though I did not like the new characters but Light was still brilliant character in the whole series.

First the positive side of things is the anime is very well researched , the amount of work put by the manga author is just incredible. Its amazing to see how realistic these depictions are.

If you are not bothered by the story or characters and are just interested in space then this anime is for you.

But as for me the anime is painfully average despite having good production and realistic depiction of NASA and how they work and look.
The main problem for me lies in the story and character writing, which is way too one dimensional.

The premise for the story is great where the ... main protagonist has his life ruined and is envious of his younger brother of becoming an astronaut.

It seems like the main protagonist is very unlucky and has to face problems and every level and gets humiliated in comparison to his brother.

But the story tackles his problems in a way to boring manner. He just breezes through his problems as kind of a genius or pure luck.

My point being the story isn't realistic at all in terms of the difficulty of being an actual astronaut while trying to be realistic.

Even if we keep that aside, the character writing is way too one dimensional and boring to keep this story going.
