I'm still trying to look for some content about the magazine but I haven't found much :'( Wait I didn't know that Araki had an interview recently, I gotta check that up later. Btw I finally read the new Rohan chapter and like always it was a very interesting and quite bizarre story. Also, believe it or not but with this chapter it's official that Covid is canon in the JoJo universe XD

Yeah, the story is made by a different mangaka so I understand if people are a bit skeptical about the manga but so far I've been liking it. The mystery vibe of part 4 and the bizarreness of JoJo is well preserved for the moment in this spin-off so I'm really eager to see where the story is going.

About the Josuke/Hol Horse spin-off, it's a bit cool and very random at same time. It's kinda weird to put this two characters together but I'll give this manga the benefit of the doubt. Also, this manga gives me strong doujin vibes but it also has some charm to it. So far, I've actually liked the mystery vibe that it has so I'll keep reading for now, it is only four chapters long for the moment. So if you can check it out!

I've both watched the anime and read the manga of Monster and both respective versions are phenomenal. Although, I prefer the manga since I can determine the pacing on my own volition, since the anime was extremely slow at times. When I'm going to revisit the story of Monster I'm definitely going for the manga. I see you're currently watching Monster so I won't delve deep into discussion, but if you want to discuss it afterwards I'd be glad to.

Awesome! I'd love to hear your opinion(s) of the show once you've finished it. Although, don't feel the urge to rush through it because of that! It is a draining show to watch. I haven't watched Ergo Proxy yet, but it has been staring at me in my PTW for over 2 years now... xd

I agree with you that ambiguity and usage of symbolism can elevate the depth of a show tremendously. Although, it's a double-edged sword, because if done wrong a show can come across as pretentious and "too tryhard". If done right, you get shows like the aforementioned SEL, Texhnolyze and (I assume) Ergo Proxy.

Texhnolyze definitely isn't the type of show that resonates with everyone. It's a slow gut wrenching, philosophical tale with heavy theming in nihilism and human nature. It's setting is incredibly done, showcasing the duality between the apex and the rock bottom of humanity. If you think you have the patience to watch an extremely slow-paced show, sparing in dialogue that relies on visual cues, I think you'd enjoy Texhnolyze. I personally think it has the best pay-off in anime/manga with its 4-5 last episodes. It's done by the same trio that created Serial Experiments Lain, so that should be a good indication of what type of show it is, that is if you've watched SEL. If not, expect a slow-burner. I always try to recommend Texhnolyze but it's not the easiest show to sell, since it has to cater to the right type of person.
