What's that? A CGDCT show? Nah, Bocchi the rock is not just that. This shows, in my opinion, is the peak slice-of-life with an actual plot. Have you ever finished a slice-of-life anime and just forget you watched it tomorrow? Well, this show isn't like that at all. The way they portray each and every, and I mean EVERY, character in the show makes you intrigued and some of the time it's just, real. Every character in the show compliments each other very well and at no point do they feel forced to say things which is probably a result of good scripts (props to
...
the seiyuu too!).
The art style is also creative, presenting it as simple at first glance yet versatile as seen later in the show where they implement new art style into the show which act kind of as a base to the new art, giving the show more depth and comedic value. Speaking of comedic value, this isn't the kind of show you'd expect to laugh throughout but you're guaranteed to get some giggles out of it. Even if you don't find it funny, it's hard to not appreciate the dedication you can obviously see from the animators that they put in the show because god damn, aren't the way they animated it creative. Ranging from shots from real-life shots to 3D animation, you can tell they put heart and soul into this show.
The plot to this show is also very well done. Going into it as a slice-of-life fan, I didn't expect to root for characters in the show but to my surprise, I feel excited every time a major event comes up and you have to wonder if it'll go as planned or not. The show isn't predictable but I'd say it's comfortable to watch as well, despite what I said earlier about feeling excited. You will know how the character will act yet the situation they've been put in left you wondering how they'll handle it.
Overall, the show is basically an accurate representation of a group of girls who share the same dream trying their best to achieve it. It's comedic, heart-warming, inspiring, and most of all, full of cute girls! The music is also pretty good.
That's all, give it a watch if you want a comforting yet memorable show, I highly recommend it.

The whole serie revolves around the 2 main characters, yamano and tanigawa. Back in middle school Yamano find a missing button for Tanigawa. This is where it reveal that yamano got a crush on tanigawa then fast forwarded to highschool, Tanigawa suddenly approach him then reveal to him that she's dead. However, Yamano then found an alive Tanigawa walking around. The dead Tanigawa then told him that she was killed but don't know when or by who. Yamano then go out to try solving the mystery and the two of them (yamano and dead tanigawa) get to know each other more and more along the
...
way.
As you can tell from the synopsis, it really feels like slice of life meet supernatural mystery but it really just feel like romance slice of life show. I'm not saying it's a bad thing that it turns out like this but it does feel like the mystery element slowly fell off along the way. Like they constantly trying to solve the case throughout but whenever they're getting serious, there's always something breaking the atmosphere and return it back to slice of life.
This serie tries to be a lot but I think the only thing that's decent about it is the romance and since it's a short serie, the build-up feels pretty lackluster because they tries so hard to make the mystery part interesting but what really sold the whole show is the chemistry between the two mc and I'd say the ending did both of them justice by making it emotional.
I really don't really know where to continue this review lol so yeah if you're looking for a slice of lifey romance manga with a little mystery on top then I'd recommend it. It did it job pretty well consider it's pretty short (3 hours read for me).

Even if you don't enjoy anime, I am more than certain you will enjoy and appreciate this anime.
This is one of the best drama comedy I've watched ever. It never tries to be something else and it excels at what it's trying to be.
This anime follows a life of a boy who's moving to an apartment. The story itself will revolves around the boy and his interaction with people around him, mostly his neighbors who lives in the same apartment (as it's a small one). The cast supports each other SOOO well, like really, I legit sit through all of the episode without getting bored
...
even if there's some element of slice-of-life to it.
The comedy in this can be cliche sometimes but most of the time they're not jokes that tries to get you bust out a laugh, they're more of a subtle giggle if you know what I mean as the comedy in this is pretty much a cherry on top
Now, this series, at least for me, is focused on the drama element. It's sad. Like really sad when it tries to. Now the reason is a spoiler so skip to the last paragraph if you want, it's only minor spoiler tho so.
*SPOILERS*
Whenever Kotaro talks about how his parents never abandoned him, I felt that. It's almost surprising how seemingly wise he is as a child (sometimes even as an adult lol), he never hesitate to protect his obviously terrible parents. You can tell after like 4 episode that he obviously know that his parents abandoned him but despised all that he took the blame on himself everytime. I'm telling you, this is DEPRESSING as hell.
There's also Karino the neighbor which is a character with clear development throuhout the serie, starting off as a miserable mangaka who lacks stylish art. When Kotaro arrives, he obviously find it annoying since basically he's the person Kotaro interact with at first but you can tell at the later episodes, he basically become Kotaro's dad.
Another great thing about this serie is how big of an effect Kotaro has to people around him. Like seriously man, this kid do be giving life advices left and right. There are times where some characters just come and gone but it leave a lasting effect on the viewers. One of my favorite is Tasuku. The arc he's in is about how he's going broke then trying to leech off of Kotaro which is as you can tell, a f*cking horrible thing. It later reveals that he's the one that teaches Kotaro about trusting people and yet he can't do the same. When Kotaro reveals he knew it all along and he's willingly falling for it, it really did send a simple and powerful message that when you trust someone so much, you're willingly to play the fool to make them happy. This really shows that the right approach at simple thing can leave an impactful lesson. So yes, you can bring your kids to watch it for lessons if you're into that. Anyway it's getting long so....
*SPOILERS END*
This serie overall is a serie you can watch in the living room with your family and still have fun with it. It's one of those few where the plot is surprisingly simple and to the point while being able to convey an impactful message with it. The casts compliment each other well and yes, it might make you cry so prepare a box of tissues if you're one of those people. This is going on my must-watch list and overall 10/10 since I relate to this very well.

I really want to give this a lower score but giving a low score would be a harassment to the art and soundtracks.
Eventhough this is a very run-off-the-mill story and characters, the soundtracks compliment it to a point where they seems more interesting than they actually are. Not only that the art makes it seems a lot more interesting and eventhough it may seems basic, it compliment the genre quite well.
The story completely missed the mark on cementing itself to be a heartwarming love story but on the same note, the atmosphere support slice of life genre quite well so it's like watching a
...
slice of life movie with a side plot being a wholesome love story. However, the second half is pretty adventurous and it's decent at best and the ending feel exactly like those princess cartoon where it's too happy to be true but I guess it's pretty fitting to the demographic this aim towards.
Overall, a great anime with 0 rewatchability and an anime that got hard-carried by the sounds and art 8/10.
