Both these shows are kind of slice-of-lifey, but they have much more story/character than most such shows. They both meld comedy and drama together perfectly.

If you liked Tantei Opera Milky Holmes add

...then you might like Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! add

Both of these shows start off with the pretense of having a story but quickly devolves into comedies where the main characters are incapable of accomplishing anything. Both also involve humor based on all the main characters being idiots. Milky Holmes is the funnier of the two.

...then you might like Rolling☆Girls add

Rolling Girls is like a less substantive FLCL. Particularly when it comes to the main characters' role in the story, FLCL has a lot more going for it. Where they are similar are the over the top, super enjoyable fight scenes. Though FLCL is more crazy and Rolling Girls is more artsy, they both want those fight scenes to be a lot of fun to watch. And they are.

...then you might like Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru add

The same kind of spin on magical girls. Yuuki Yuuna is much more uneven when it comes to quality, but it has enough to give for someone looking for something Madoka-esque.

If you liked Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki add

...then you might like Uchouten Kazoku add

Very similar in how they're both balancing between slice-of-life and drama. They are both about the mostly ordinary life of a family, but they still have character depth and some semblance of a flowing story. They also strike the same tone of struggling a bit to get by but still being happy together with your family.

They are both the top of the genre when it comes to consistent quality of lighthearted entertainment.

...then you might like Yuru Yuri add

Yuru Yuri is like K-On with more characters and a giant love polygon. Very similar comedy and cuteness.

If you liked FLCL add

...then you might like Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann add

These shows have the same style of animation, comedy and way over the top awesome fightscenes, though TTGL is somewhat less crazy. While FLCL spends time developing its characters and Gurren Lagann has a more palpable and classic story, they give off a very similar feel.

If you liked Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei add

...then you might like Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu add

They very much remind me of each other, not because their humor is very similar but because they have the same way of spitting at klichés. They both deviate from what is "classic" anime comedy, and both does so brilliantly.
