At this point Tokyo Ghoul has became a giant in the anime and manga community, for years it was impossible to ignore. Unfortunately the anime adaptation it got is nowhere near as good as the manga.
Story: 8/10 The story of Tokyo Ghoul isn't exactly unique, however it is still enjoyable regardless. While reading this I was constantly trying to guess what would happen next. Its good about making you wonder where character will end up when this all ends.
Art: 9/10 This manga was a lot of fun for me, the art is always interesting and I just love how expressive the pages are. Sui Ishida
...
is easily one of my favourite artists of all time, even on his tight schedule he was able to draw better than almost all his contemporaries, its a shame we most likely won't see him produce another manga for a very long time.
Characters: 7/10 This characters in Tokyo Ghoul are a mixed bag. Some are layered and interesting while others are generic and cookie cutter. Overall I love most the characters, and the character design of this series is simply fantastic. One thing I can be sure of is you'll me you forget the main cast.
Enjoyment: 10/10 The fight scenes are fantastic, the abilities of Ghouls and the weapons of the investigators are amazingly well drawn and creative. Which makes for some incredible fights and tense moments. All I can say is it was indeed quite a ride. This series has great re-readability.
Flaws: It has somewhat of a weak start, and ends of a HUGE cliffhanger. Some of Kaneki's character development may seem a bit forced. The characters can sometimes look a bit abstract during fights, this is up to opinion and I personally love it but I can see why some people wouldn't.
Overall: 9/10 Don't let the lackluster anime adaptation trick you, I assure you will have a great time with this series. Don't forget there is a sequel series named Tokyo Ghoul: RE

Its rare I am changed on a spiritual and philosophical level by a piece of media. Sure I may form certain opinions after consuming a story or movie, however Vagabond is the only story to every completely change how I look at life.
To absurdly oversimplify it, Vagabond is a story of self improvement and finding your place in the world. Before I read Vagabond I didn't know where to go with my life. But soon after starting it I realised this wasn't a normal manga, this was different.
By volume 10 I had already been so motivated by Musashi and his journey that my grades at
...
school had improved exponentially. Vagabond taught me what it means to push oneself to you absolute limits. Reaching your potential is important, but more important is realising life continues after you reach your goals. And that's okay. Life doesn't have an epic conclusion, it is a single long journey from start to a end. Though you won't have some Hollywood conclusion to your story, you can accomplish many goals along the way and it is important to constantly be pushing yourself, for when you stop trying is when you lose your way.
There will be no spoilers in this review don't worry
Story: 10/10 Vagabond follows the journey of Miyomoto Musashi and loosely follows the actual life of Musashi. Over the course of his journey Musashi is taught numerous things by the people he encounters. This taught me to seek knowledge from people I meet. I'm everyone has stories to tell and things to teach you, meeting new people and discovering new things is a great way to progress towards your goals. Musashi's development doesn't happen in huge jumps, but instead happens over the course of the story. All his experiences shape who he is.
Art: 10/10 I doubt I need to say much about the art. Vagabond is notorious for having amazing art, and is considered by many to have the best art of all manga. Reading a Vagabond chapter generally takes me a lot longer than normal because I find myself staring at each page admiring the beautiful art, only to realise I haven't even read the words yet.
Characters: 10/10 A big part of Vagabond is seeing how each character grows, and the anticipation of their eventual dual or interaction. I've found myself wishing some characters didn't have to right because I enjoy both so much, and would be saddened if one were to die. The fact I care so much about character throughout this story shows how compelling they care. Each Vagabond character feels like their own person and the main character or their own story. It just happens that we are following Musashi's. I am always excited to learn a characters back story and to find out how they become the person they are. These feel like real people with real emotions, and I hope I find another story that makes me love a stories character as much as Vagabond.
Enjoyment: 10/10 There have been many times over the course of Vagabond where I have literally been on the edge of my seat in anticipation. Excitingly turning the page and trying to keep my cool as I fanboy over how amazing the action scenes and dialogue are. Even arcs that some may consider "boring" are very enjoyable to me. This story is a hood example of how to write what seems like boring things in an exciting way. There's literally an arc about farming, and its one if my favourites in all of manga because of how well it is written and portrayed.
Flaws: The series is currently unfinished, and by the looks of it won't be finished for a very long time as its on a long hiatus. That's literally all the flaws I can think about.
Overall: 10/10 I understand that Vagabond isn't for everyone, but I would 100% recommended it to literally everyone. I have become a better person (in my opinion) after reading Vagabond. And if you find yourself lost in the world, in a dark place or just feeling depressed in general. I urge you to read this story, it helped me in more ways than I can describe and I hope it can do the same for you.

Its always hard to try and form an objective opinion on something that has a lot of sentimental value to you, and this is definitely one of those cases. So i'm just gonna talk about why you should read it.
Note: I wont have ANY spoilers in this, so read away.
Fire Punch is an absurd manga, everything about it is ridiculous. To simplify it, Fire Punch is about people struggling in a post apocalyptic world. But not in the same way something like Fallout is post apocalyptic, the world of Fire Punch has completely gone to shit. We are told very early that humanity doesn't have
...
long left, and anyone who is pretending to "rebuild humanity" is kidding themselves and because of this there are essentially no rules. The world is dark and gritty, yet also humorous and quirky. The manga isn't for everyone, but if you do end up checking it out PLEASE don't take it to seriously, its only 8 volumes so just sit back with a coffee and enjoy the ride.
Story: The story is sometimes disjointed and to be honest completely nonsensical at times, yet theres something interesting about how things end up. It starts of as a relatively normal revenge story but goes in a completely different direction when a certain character starts "trying to make a movie". Theres lots of bloodshed, pain, struggling and obscure movie references.
Art: To be frank, the art isn't amazing and doesn't improve much before the end. However the art style is interesting and the characters are unique so it isn't "bad" i guess. You'll never be bored by the art thats for sure.
Characters: The characters in Fire Punch are a mixed bad, sometimes they are cookie cutter tropes and sometimes they are the single greatest thing i've ever seen. But i feel like that is done intentionally, a lot of the characters in Fire Punch seem like they are trying as hard as they can to be "normal" and cling to what they remember of normal society.
Enjoyment: This is where the series really shines. I assure you, you'll never be bored reading this manga. It's completely unpredictable and takes random turns in the story all the time. One minute you'll be reading a revenge story and within the next 20 pages the story is now about actual lunatics making a movie oh look now they're in space okay. Its horrifically dark at points and hilariously light at others.
Flaws: The characters are pretty simple, much like the art. The contestant mood and theme changes may get annoying for some people. The story isn't the strongest.
Overall: Fire Punch is an amazing ride and i hope as any people as possible read it. Its not often we get stories like this so we need it appreciate it when we do. To summarise its a crazy journey of a man on fire and his weird film addicted friend.
