Preliminary (3/12 eps)
A lovely blend of fanservice and cuteness in just the right amounts, all packaged up in a visual treat. While this anime won’t make you come to any life-changing epiphanies, it will provide a joyful amount of enjoyment across all spectrums of typical anime spheres. Unless you absolutely hate fan-service or need blood and gore in your anime, this one is worth a try for sure.

There is fanservice in this anime, yes. However it is in very modest amounts, and doesn’t feel out of place or incredibly forced to the narrative, it also comes with it some very prettily drawn elements of clothes and ...

This series leaves alot to be desired narratively but is stylistically a refreshing treat to the eyes. It will absolutely need a second season to make the narrative better.

While it's true that some of the romcom elements and tropes are a bit common, the setting of Hokkaido provides a certain level of uniqueness to them. It's also nice to see that despite the female MC being incredibly busty, we don't see an overuse of tropes playing onto this. Especially when it comes to bounce physics. If you're looking for a masterpiece of an anime, this ain't it.

If you're looking for an anime about cute mermaid girls doing cute things and can put aside the fact that physics will break in this and the mermaid aspect is nothing more than a reason to put tails on girls and have them float around, this is right up your alley.

I'm not sure what happened with the earlier episodes but both the sound and animation was incredibly mediocre early on. Around episode 4 this series started to up the swimming cycles in animation and also added more SFX that makes you "feel" ...

Harukana Receive fits into a really weird storytelling narrative and manages to simultaneously tow two dichotomous lines.

Is this a story about beach volleyball that features girls in bikinis and all the obvious fanservice tropes and camera angles that come with it? Yes. Is this a story about people overcoming obstacles, both past, present and from within and external forces? Also yes.

Outside of this the story is visually gorgeous, I particularly found myself falling in love with the over embellishment on the eyes and hair.

About the only major elements where this story falls flat is sound and character. The beach volleyball sounds used ...

Konbini Kareshi feels more like a hostage situation than an anime. The initial action sucks you in and then spends the majority of the series teasing you until the last few episodes where things really start getting emotionally impactful and interesting. Leading to the final wrap up episode which left things... as nicely concluded as they could be with the main groups, but left alot of the secondary characters empty.

If you go into that understanding you're going to get sucked in and then held hostage for a really slow burn slow pace series... and left somewhat unfulfilled then it will be an enjoyable if ...
