Awesome! Hope you end up liking it! LMFAO well, I can't say I've ever had anyone ask me for a mediocre rec of their own volition but I'll make a mental note for next time.
I've read "re-take" as well, pretty decent IMO. The Evangelion manga is also pretty good too so if you're still fiending for more Eva, I do know some that actually prefer it to the anime. It's a bit less abstract and psychological than the anime and is admittedly missing Anno's direction but it's still fairly great. You should check out "Oyasumi Punpun", shouldn't be too hard to find. It's a masterpiece IMO and is by far my favorite thing I've logged on this site. If you enjoy Evangelion it explores similar themes of depression and social isolation and is honestly a great way to pop that cherry if you've never really dipped your toes into the medium. The only down-side is that most manga you read after will probably seem inferior by comparison.
"(wow, it kinda feels awkward to write public comments)" spoken like a true introvert, this is how I know you like Evangelion LMFAO. You're among friends Sorken, don't feel awkward, most anime fans have trouble levelling with each other. I'm doing fine myself, I've been in the process of watching good shows (for once) which is an earnest change of pace. I'm used to getting viciously drunk and watching something less than desirable to pass the time. Have you ever tried manga or manhwa? I notice your list is a bit lacking in that regard.
NGL, I was under the assumption you had added me when you had sent me that message a bit ago, goes to show how observant I am. How are you doing Sorken?
