Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou

Apocalyptic manga which choose to focus on the human element (the characters, namely cute girls) instead of putting too much emphasis on the actual apocalypse. Gakkou Gurashi is more plot driven than Shooujo Shuumatsu Ryokou, but both of them are stories about overcoming adversity and human connection.

Both are about the complexities and difficulties of love and just of being human. Developed, well-rounded characters.

Both are beautifully animated and heartwarming films that have similar imagery of shooting stars and several plot simiarities, such as time-slip elemtns and the main girl cutting her hair short. Sophie and Mitsuha feel a little similar to me, as they are both very strong young women but are not quite happy with themselves and the lives they lead.

Similar single father adopted child dynamic. Both series are set off by the death of a relative and focus deeply on fatherhood in a very sweet and touching way.

Both are deeply emotional and focus a lot on memories and how painful they can be, but how they also make us stronger and are necessary to let us move on. They are both animated by A1 pictures.

Bokura no Hentai

Both stroies about a group or a pair who deal with gender dysphoria and crossdressing. Both are slightly more serious and dark than your avarage gender bend manga. The character's are of a similar age, at least initially, and they both include gay/ bisexual characters. Bokura no hentai is a lot darker, while Horou Musuko has a serous but light tone.

Supernatural, ecchi KyoAni animes. They both start out pretty silly, but get more emotional for the last couple of episodes. The main characters couldn't be more different, but the arkward situations they get themselves into are similar. Setto is physically similar to Mai, but mentally similar to Koito, but Reina and Latifa aresimilar both physically and mentally.

Both center on a guy who has pretty much given up on life and doesn't do much who reencountersa misterious girl from his past (life or otherwise). They are both sweet tales that will make you cry, with a strong supernatural element and an array of strange, broken and likeable characters, who are hanuted by their pasts.

- Cute, likeable characters, most of which are pretty clumsy and odd. - Both have a rabbit mascot character. - The characters are smiliar: Anne is Cocoa, Hibari is Rize, Botan is a slightly pessimistic version of Chiya, Hibiki is Sharo and Ren is Chino, althought the last pair are by far the least similar. - Smiliar art style. - Similar mood: happy, silly and relaxing.

The air of the two series is similar, with equally strange and wonderful characters, a main character dealing with identity issues and trying to hide who they really are and some elements of shoujo-ai and shounen-ai (although a lot less relevant in OhimeniNarenai). Entertaining comedies with weird but not too unrealistic characters, I recommend both.

Both about a girl who has problems with her own emotions and who writes a cell phone novel. In both series the family of the boy plays a big role, with the younger brother of the main hero falling in love with the heroine.

Same setting and some crossover characters. Another is almost like a sequel to the original, as it features both Mamiya and Miyoshi as adults.

Noragami
add

Both series deal with a fairly ordinary person (Hiyori and Kyon) who ends dealing with an irresponsible, slightly crazy, god (Haruhi and Yato). In both cass the other characters are mostly also extraordinary beings. Although Noragami is slightly more serious, both series contain large amouts of slapstick comedy mixed in with some more intense moments. The tone is quite different, but I sincerly recommend watching both.

Durarara!!
add

Both series basically consist in a group of people trying to manipulate each other into doing what they want without realising the others are doing the same. The element of pitting best friends against each other without them knowing who their opponent is is also a similar component. Lelouch and Izaya could be considered very similar, although Lelouch is admittedly much more sane. Code Geass is darker, on a lot bigger scale and more brutal, the art is very different and so is the tone, but the plotlines have many things in common.
