It's no mystery Black Clover was a mess when it started and gained tons of hate during its run. And none of that hate was unjustified. It's generic without a doubt and filled with problems.
But Black Clover had a clear vision, and it succeeded toward a strong comeback, and some of the strongest I saw in anime. Or maybe I barely watch anime. I'm still not wrong though.
The story definitely suffered a very bad start. With a generic plot, horrible pacing, bad writing, and its notorious animation. Oh yeah and Asta's Scream™. I will point out the story is not over yet. This is basically
...
Black Clover Part 1.
The story starts with Asta & Yuno adopted to a church as newborns and raised as peasants, where magic is everything, Yuno is a prodigy with magic while Asta doesn't have any magical powers. They aim for getting into Magic Knight squads in order to become the Wizard King of Clover Kingdom. A little familiar?
Yeah, it's not really a new shounen. There are lots of elements throughout the anime which are very generic and can sometimes feel cheap. The setting, while not new does have a nice blend with shounen medieval fantasy. The humour isn't honestly very funny and feels too forced and out of place. There are so many cliches that you end up knowing what happens next and The issue is where all that ends up. Is it still a good anime?
Yes.
Well, at least for me. While there are plenty points in the story that felt underwhelming, it picks up into a story in depth and they explain things better, the characters felt less awkward, and the story is genuinely interesting and doesn't feel slow. It still suffers from generic shounen traits, and is generally unoriginal, but honestly it's meant to be. A strong cohesiveness still succeeds. However, Black Clover isn't for everyone. The frustrations still remain and that ruins the experience. If the writers attempted to be more ambitious it wouldn't be a reduction in quality. That alone brings my score from an 8 to a 7. I sure as hell didn't feel thrilled about some of it...
However, it is not all doom and gloom! The story, like I keep annoying you about, does make a comeback into a more unique, respectable and actually impressive story. While the generic plot elements stay, the qualities improve. Asta screams less, we get a more satisfying plot development, tension, chemistry between characters, mysteries, and exciting moments.
The art, while a fitting and nice looking art style and pretty backgrounds, suffered from bad animation. The animation had numerous production issues, so many choppy movements, weird looking characters, and inconsistent art in general which really sucks. Of course Pierrot do pull a Pierrot and make the occasional episode with amazing animation, but it still is a very mediocre overall package in animation. Even the OPs suffer a bit of this, but they do re-do it a few episodes later. There is CGI, but it actually doesn't look out of place and is usually done well.
The characters, while there are many likable ones, suffers from lack of development and do feel one-dimesional at times. They rely too much on pushing a character trait and shoehorn it unnecessarily at times. However, there is good character development to assist in these characters, and backstories which add to a character, and while it isn't new, it is still done well. There are characters I dislike, but none I hate. If you need characters that are very powerful in personality and development, Black Clover will leave to be desired. However, they are just fine otherwise.
The OPs are fantastic, when it comes to music and the actual scenes. While I complained about the animation in the OPs, like I said it improves within a couple episodes but it still looks fantastic, and the last few don't suffer from this. The EDs are actually pretty underrated, but I'm guessing you don't care about them. The OSTs, while not exceptional, are still nice to listen too and the SFX are good too. Fitting for a magical theme too. The VAs are alright. Asta being my only problem, but after his Asta Scream™ era it's hard to be bothered by it.
Black Clover is a fun anime, and even though it has its strong problems, it's still a blast. It's clear that there is heart and effort put into this, and I commend Tabata and Pierrot for what they have done. Even though it is a long-running shounen by Pierrot, there surprisingly isn't too much filler that kills the experience. What's there is done extremely well and commendable, even though its far from a masterpiece.
Thanks for reading & sorry if my review was explained poorly, I'm not too good at it.

The God of Highschool is one of the most pointless anime I have ever seen. The hype that the anime got was the best part of this show. I enjoyed it more then most people, but not for the right reasons. I tried to like this, but I couldn't no matter what.
I will warn you this review has spoilers, but there not much point worrying about spoiling garbage.
A entire anime based on a tournament arc is actually pretty intriguing, but it's so badly executed, that it's such a waste, and there is one big reason why. GoH's worldbuilding is absolute garbage. The tournament,
...
the characters, the powers, the fights, and other things are riddled with plot holes and what's actually there is boring and honestly so ridiculous it's not even funny. The way the tournament works and is broadcasted doesn't make sense, there's no interaction outside the arena, things happen for no reason, the competitors aren't even in high school, the powers in this show lack ANY depth or explanation, blah blah blah. GoH lacks cohesion. It's like if I got obsessed with a shounen in 5th grade and tried to make my own. Come on. Anyone can do better than that.
The first episode was definitely the best of the entire season. It introduced characters well, and a genuinely interesting bike chase occurred. The build-up toward the tournament was excellent and the fight scenes were great to watch. However, GoH doesn't do anything else beyond the first episode. In fact, none of the episodes ever get better. I can't count the amount of times I got bored and stopped paying attention. Not like I had anything to miss or anything...
The main trio, Mo-Ri Jin, Mi-ra Yu, & Dae-wi Han are supposed to be the best buddies you've ever seen, but they lack any chemistry. The reason they became friends was stupid, and pointless. You can't really tell how close they're supposed to be until you see the ending of them having fun. They have nothing in common besides "haha i bash bad guy" or whatever. Who cares? Why should I worry about such plain protagonists? How is it friendship if they don't even bother building one?
The characters in general are also very bland and worthless. There is no ambition to their fighting. They just seem to be fighting for the sake of it. To fix this, they shoehorn a backstory during a fight, which is pretty dull and not worth caring about. Still lacks ambition anyway. Mi-ra Yu came to the GoH tournament to find a successor to her sword or something. She loses the sword. Decides she doesn't want to get married. And yet she continues the tournament? Dae-wi Han fights for a sick friend, and then he dies. He gets over it a minute later and stick participates. Why??? The only decent backstories became worthless and the characters redundant. Everything else is people's lives suck so they need to complete their life by fighting in a "high-school" tournament.
That's what GoH suffers a lot of. A lack of ambition. The main villain group called Nox (I think?) attack a high-school (not really) fighting tournament, but why? Why do they want the "key"? What kind of villain just randomly attacks some place for some power for NO REASON?! Why do they want to take over the world? What is the reason behind ANYTHING? This is never explained, like it's expected for us to know already.
The best part of GoH was its fights. It actually made me go "woah" at times and that doesn't happen very often. There are fights that absolutely look amazing, but there's a lot that doesn't look all too impressive. The choreography is my biggest issue, because it's always so out of place. Honestly the only reason I watched this anime. Just sakuga. None of the characters, tension, or the way they look when fighting. If the plot and characters were meaningful, they could've been more iconic, but nope.
Speaking of the looks of the anime, it looks... fine. It doesn't look horrible, like you'd expect from a MAPPA production. The main issue is the character designs. The characters have noses and ears so red you'd expect a damn flu outbreak to happen ASAP. Still a better villain than Nox. The character's actual looks suck, and aside from a few, they look forgettable and sometimes looked way too familiar to a few certain other characters in other anime...
The "character development" relies heavily on backstories and getting over it. The "training" to the characters' skills is just someone saying "you can't do this" and then they do it later. Especially Mo-Ri Jin. What's even the point of it then? They slap in powers without explaining it, and forget about it later. The power-scaling is the most ridiculous thing I ever seen. Mo-Ri Jin already has enough plot armour. What's the point of having these Goku-level powers I wonder. And speaking of plot armour, why is there no struggle with these central characters? They get beat up, unlock new power, and win.
Another strong reason this crap is crap is because of the ridiculous pacing. They adapted 118 webtoon chapters into 13 episodes. These chapters aren't 4 pages for god's sake. Everything goes so fast you don't even know what's going on. It's almost as if the anime is an ad for the webtoon. Pretty terrible trailer but whatever. By the time of the last episode, I just gave up. Good sakuga can't save this. Why did Crunchyroll only fund for 13 episodes anyway? Did they even bother reading the webtoons?
Don't forget about the crazy advertising for webtoon and Crunchyroll. Oh wait you CAN'T forget. It's everywhere, for no goddamn reason. What's this got to do with the anime. It's dumb and sleazy. Why would they even advertise their own production companies for one of their most crappiest anime ever?
The OP theme is basically shredding your eardrums with dubstep. It's not good whether you like dubstep or not. The OST is so unremarkable and doesn't add anything. No music would actually fit such an anime with a lack of depth.
GoH was such a disappointment. It had strong potential thrown away for some weird plot. Like I said, I want to like this. Seeing the behind the scenes, and hearing what the webtoon author had to say and seeing the mo-cap production made me more keen on this. But GoH can't redeem itself as more than just a simply, bad cash-grab. These webtoon adaptations have been badly done and the GoH community was angry at this too, so maybe the webtoon is better, but this anime doesn't justify it. It's boring, silly, crazy, shallow, and worthless.

Sol Levante isn't necessarily an anime with a proper plot, but just focused on animation, so don't expect a story at all. There is definitely stuff going on in here, but it's really just for the oohs and aahs of the sakuga, and I'm okay with that. The "story" isn't exactly worth caring about by any means. Random stuff happens and there is absolutely no loss if you don't pay attention. It's also hyped for being in 4K, but frankly it's not really worth caring about. It's only a couple minutes long too, so it won't be a waste of your time too. The animation
...
is done fantastically and is nice to the eyes in my opinion, but I understand it's not for everyone. I noticed some CGI which looked out of place, but whatever. If you just want to see some animators screwing around, then this is fine. If you want any more, then keep searching.

Webtoon adaptations have become a failure, and Noblesse is no exception, and yet this is probably the worst of them all. Look, I only saw 4 episodes, which is only 1/3 of the season or whatever, and who knows? Maybe the next 8 episodes are masterpieces. But no matter, I still couldn't enjoy this as much I wanted to. I really wanted to enjoy this, but I couldn't. Noblesse has loads of love on the webtoon, but this? This only let us know Webtoons as anime doesn't go well. What they most suffered from was a rushed pacing as they only could work with 13
...
episodes. I think Crunchyroll was the reason for that so they're the blame, otherwise they're okay. I thought Tower of God was fine, but disliked God of Highschool. They both were so rushed that it ruined the series and left a bitter taste after seeing the series. And yet, Noblesse isn't rushed?
Noblesse has over 9 on webtoon. Obviously you can't compare that with the anime, but it's still pretty damn hard to see why. Noblesse is incredibly slow which is weird as hell unless they're adapting 1 episode per... episode? But seriously this is weird and just ridiculous.
Story 3/10
Like I said before, Noblesse suffered from an incredibly slow story. You'd probably get news about Noblesse's announcement from Internet Explorer faster than Noblesse's story. That's weird as hell. I expected to get the story immediately after the past 2 webtoon anime, but it wasn't. Isn't there so much content to use? Don't you only have 13 episodes? Seriously? And I'm gonna be honest and say I'd rather have a confusing, but speedy anime rather than a non-progressive plot. Even though I didn't like GOH I still kinda enjoyed it because at least we saw something.
Not only is the pacing horrendous, but the actual story is just... bad...
I mean look at the premise of Noblesse:
"Raizel wakes up after a 820 year slumber..."
Mmhmm...
"...and enrolls into a high school."
Never mind...
Seriously, doesn't that seem lame as hell? However the noble thing got me intrigued and so I started watching, but I expected a lackluster story. And I was still disappointed. Yes the plot isn't any better. And the main reason is because literally nothing happens. As well as the pacing that makes snails seem FTL, all it seems like is some weird slice-of-life with superpowers. Noblesse is supposed to be some action-battle story and yet we see none of that. Isn't there some bad guys you need to get rid of? Why am I stuck seeing some moron worry if his friend is gay? Really? Is this what you want to do? But hey, you do you. The slice-of-life itself isn't really that entertaining either. It's just stuff that made me question whatever the hell I just saw. I have seen 1hr and 20min of content and nothing? Come on.
And the fact that there's barely any plot makes me have qeustions. Like for example, how the hell was Raizel asleep for 820 years to begin with? Who are these random bad guys? Why did these people sleep for 820 years too? Or are they? But that is a stupid point of me to make anyway since there's no way I should expect that to be answered to 4 episodes, but at least the curiosity of this show is more entertaining than the plot of this.
Art: 7/10
The art actually looks decent though. It's definitely a good style that gives a nice serious seinen vibe. It looks great to look at and the background art isn't bad either. The animation is okay, but there's not much action to show it off at all. There's no reason why you would be disappointed with the art so you won't go "Ewwww" at all (yet) so that's fine. Although that guy whose friends with the red haired dude? The one with the longish hair? It's nothing new, but I was confused at this guy's gender because of the way he was depicted. It was confusing, but just a head's up, he's a guy (maybe)
Sound 6/10
Not much to say? OST isn't bad, but not memorable. OP is okay but the start sounded like some weirdo trying to hold in a sneeze while crying and choking at his tears. Or trying to hold in a laugh because it's so easy it laugh when you are in moments when you shouldn't. Other that that it is okay. Ending was okay too.
Character 3/10
Raizel is some calm guy. Others are the exact same, just one is more angry. The red-haired guy is good, but he can be irritating. There really isn't much depth to the characters nor any ambition or... anything else. The bad guys are just random guys. Why does every girl need to go "OMG THAT GUY IS SO HOT11!!!11!!"? Why can't the red-haired guy mind his own business? Don't dms people in someone else's account. The characters are just bland with nothing to them. They really aren't entertaining and it's hard to look forward to them coming on screen. There's nothing to say about them because they're that boring. Wait, there's some obsession with ramen! That's all I know about them. Then again this is unfair as I only seen 4 episodes, but this still is depicted poorly.
Enjoyment 2/10
Story, pacing, characters are garbage. The okay theme songs and the art are stuff I like though. But overall it's a borefest.
Overall 2/10
Just eat a bowl of ramen and crap something better than this.
