I think maybe you're being a bit too extreme. Sure, many anime shows have an exaggerated hype around them, but it's hard to say if they're actually good or if people are just following a bandwagon effect where someone influential liked it and others followed suit, or if it's just empty praise. "Solo Leveling" and "Dungeon Meshi" aren't the best anime; I've seen them, but I think shows like "Houseki no Kuni," "Sousou no Frieren," "Sonny Boy," "Devilman Crybaby," "Dance Dance Danseur," "Vinland Saga," "Fruits Basket," or "Tengoku Daimakyou" had a moderate to large impact on social media and are actually good anime. Again, I believe that if you're part of a bubble where there are more people who are just starting to watch anime recently or only care about what becomes mainstream, you'll probably be disappointed with anime recommendations.
