I rarely watch anime as they air, people get over hyped or under hyped and it takes a while for the dust to settle and see what is shining brightly and what is not. I watched the first episode the day it aired and then I let it be because it got really really hyped up. As of writing this I have completed my watch of it, was it worth the hype, no it was not, however, it is still in my top 50 anime that I've seen. It is more TRIGGER eye candy, the CG and the art were stunning but that is all I can really say about it. The characters have been done better before in other TRIGGER shows and the story has been beaten like a dead horse. If you are a fan of the studio, go watch it, it shows how far they have come since Gurren Lagann animation wise, but I honestly cant help but to compare it to what has come before it.
