Based off of the award winning manga series written by Iwaaki Hitoshi, coming from the highly praised Madhouse studio, with all excitement and intense story, Kiseijuu constantly finished this season with its fineness.
The story set-up in a realistic world where an unknown organism invaded earth and take over human bodies, accidentally one of that organism is trying to enter into someone's body, a body of a sleeping boy named Shinichi Izumi, but the organism can only take over Shinichi hand only. The incident created a bizarre creature that lives eventually in Shinichi's right hand. Meanwhile, other organisms that successfully take over a human / animal
...
bodies is starting to attack the Civilians secretly and eat them. With that fact, Shinichi decided to fight other ruthless parasites with Migi's help.
In the story section, Kiseijuu have some notable succession. A bizarre yet successful settings brings Kiseijuu a glimpse of uniqueness to its story. The story actually not so complex, the concept is understandable and easy to remember. The individual elements of the story runs pretty well too, it was thrilling, and so exciting. The anime have a fairly balanced pacing while throwing some excitement & surprises at the same time. Kiseijuu added many other genres and mixed up into one big unity. One of them is romance, There is some scenes that included romance Although sometimes the romance felt awkward because the lack of process.
The other good thing is Kiseijuu successfully illustrated the true nature of a living creature, especially us humans. Kiseijuu left some moral lessons for the audience: "Life is a valuable thing, we have to respect of human and creature life"
The animation actually quite standard, not bad but not the best. The character design is decent, while, in the other hand, I fully appreciate the parasites design, it is well-illustrated & quite memorable, it success in bringing a grim & scary feeling to the screen.
For the sound settings, I personally adore the Opening song “Let Me Hear” sung by Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas, it is really a great upbeat song with a real mixture of Electric & Rock. As for the background music, Kiseijuu did an excellent job in bringing such music, the music fluidly mixed up with the story in a great way, it is really fit & fresh in brain. There is nothing to say for the voice actors, it just awesome.
In the character section, we have our main characters, the duo consist of Izumi Shinichi & the alien that live in his right arm named Migi. The character development centered in Izumi Shinichi, from the start of to the end, Shinichi’s have various changes including his attitude & appearance. Just like other great characters , he developed from zero to hero. From a sniffing & coward boy, he grows into a more mature & reliable man. The development describe very well. While Migi, the parasite that live in Shinichi’s hand have a meaningful role, a sense of friendship is also described between them as the story progress. While various villain with a different motive also did well in their roles. The other supporting characters do their roles pretty well. It is really good indeed.
In the end, it’s just another great series. It is fully recommended if you a fan of the individual elements that included in the story, and if you seek an anime with full of excitement, proper character development, & intense storyline then Parasite is your menu.

There is much bitterness in life, but we have to learn that we must forget that and keep go on. Just like a rainbow in the rain, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso ends beautifully.
Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso is a story about Kousei Arima, a piano prodigy who is quite famous at his young age thanks to his mother who introduced him to the world of piano. Arima dominates all competitions he participated because of his perfect performance. One day her mother died. Arima feels shocked since then and got some sort of trauma that makes him unable to play the piano again. Kousei gave
...
in to the world of music until one day he meets a young violinist girl named Miyazono Kaori who introduced Kousei the true meaning of music.
One of the oldest art forms in the earth is music, music has become a friend of mankind since the beginning of civilization. But what exactly is the meaning of a music? What causes sound was very interesting to listen to? Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso has the right answer for it. Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso prove that music was meant more widespread than we think, not just a set of joyful sound but can mean different - depending on one's own thoughts.
If we look deeper into the story, the concept of the story is not too complex but not too simple either, which makes the story more easily accepted. Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso also has advantages in the individual elements of the story, though sometimes the comedy is a bit flat. The anime also success in delivering expressive situation, you can feel the intense drama though sometimes looks too hyperbole and exaggerating.
One of the things that makes a lot of people become difficult to enjoy this anime is the pacing. The pacing is very slow with many flashbacks to appear, it might make you not stand with this movie and feel bored if you not yet accustomed to watching this kind of setting. But this is not a deficiency, the slow pacing makes the story more visible so that there is no stiffness in its delivery. The process is visible and the results are quite satisfactory.
The animation owned by Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso is wonderful and suitable, the background illustrated in great details with a different feeling. Different in every scene, could be seen shining and beautiful color, and can also be dark with despair surrounding it. When playing the piano, the animation sometimes turns into CG. Character design very represents and match with the story.
What can I say about the sound settings? One word to describe … “Wonderful”. OP / ED theme is nice & and matched with the mood of the story. Also, the classical instruments of the performance are also nice & expressive with many different feeling. The seiyuu did their work fairly well in bringing the character to the screen.
In terms of deepening the characters Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso is not less than any other anime. The number of flashbacks in the story makes the main character (Kousei) illustrated very clear and very deep as well, a massive character development occurs in Kousei, it is the main success as well.
Besides Kousei, we have Kaori which has a considerable role in encouraging Kousei to plunge into the world of music again, Kaori takes a great role in the 2nd half of the series as well. Some development is also found in the other main characters, such as Tsubaki. Characters with the weakest development are entirely Watari appeared only to meet the needs of the plot alone. Some of the side characters like Aiza Takeshi & Emi Igawa have their own proper development.
For the enjoyment, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso also quite entertaining with all the advantages and disadvantages. Fans Slice of Life must watch this anime, also, if you are looking for an anime with strong character development & great dramatic storyline, you come to the right place. In the end, this anime is a true color spectrum that all of the story aspects with rainbows and light that they have. It is really a real deal.

After the rise of Full Metal Panic! 2nd & Air, Kyoto Animation create something different but effective that makes the anime world order into a shimmy like an earthquake. Yes, this is The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya !. In the era of 2006, this series became a big hit in Japan and became one of the most popular anime in the history of anime. Haruhi also has a very huge fanbase, lovers might very highly praised the series, while haters may think the show is rubbish.
That was a little glimpse of the series, but what about the story itself? The series told us about a
...
high school boy known as Kyon who encounters Haruhi Suzumiya, an eccentric school girl who somehow possesses unconscious abilities that can alter or rewrite the universe. One of the good things contained in this anime is the unique premise, a bizarre yet genius idea for an anime which makes the audience interested in what was happening in the story. If you remember Baccano! & Ergo Proxy, the same narrative technique is contained in this anime. The anime present their plot in nonlinear order, some of you may think the plot is mess up or bad, but it’s not. A non-linear narrative is a narrative technique that often used in novels, film, & other media, some people may think “It’s confusing” or “What is happening?!!”. Actually, this is not a mistake, but rather a narrative technique, and if you pay attention and understand the story correctly, you certainly know what really happens. Many blamed the filler in this 14 episodes. Of course, with that short episodes, the director should be more focused the story to a better path, instead of exacerbating the situation by putting in place fan service.
For the 2006 era, the animation of Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu really exceeded the given standard. The character is not rigid in their movement, light and shading effect is quite good, although sometimes the character became less detail if the screen were zoom out. But for 2006, the animation is very good.
Sound settings are fairly good, OP / ED its very easy to remember also the voice actor is very good, with good design and sound matching, the character becomes rigid and easy to remember.
The character in this anime is often tagged as “unoriginal” and “typical stereotype”, we have a certainly simple character division. We have the Eccentric & Bossy Heroine, the Lackey Male Lead, the Genius Stoic, the Clumsy Crybaby (she is the fan service doll), and the Charismatic Transfer Student. Despite of that, Haruhi Suzumiya actually became a symbolic character that even becoming a byword in her triumphed era, the charismatic of Haruhi Suzumiya is beyond the boundary. There is some minor character development we got from our main character (Haruhi). Other main characters do their roles pretty well, but one-dimensional. Some supporting characters appear just for plot devices. Nevertheless, the main characters is pretty memorable and unforgettable.
Well, if you into Sci-Fi and prefer a unique setting in Slice of Life, this anime might be recommended. But if you seek for character development & other things, seek another door. Anyway the show really put a lot of enjoyment that can even make you addicted if you love all of the aspects. It is a fairly good series indeed.

Popular anime with the concept of survival game (example: Mirai Nikki, etc) gave birth to a lot of anime who want to be famous too without changing the concept but change it slightly to create originality. They try to be great as their successor. One of those anime is Btooom! , came from studio Madhouse (king of anime studio) makes this anime has a heavy burden to be displayed. A lot of people expecting Madhouse's greatness, which make Btooom! looks very small in their eyes. Btooom!tells us a story of 22 years old Sakamoto Ryouta, this guy is the top scorer of the game Btooom! placed
...
# 10 worldwide ranking. He somehow stranded on an island in the south (The island is somewhere in Indonesia because there are Komodo Dragon in the island). He had a bag with strange equipment (like a bomb), his goal there is to survive a game of death in order to get out of from the island. The concept is the same as the others survival game, they're using some kind of bomb with different types. There is some element of romance in this story that makes this story becomes a little more colorful.
A story definitely has flaws somewhere, no exception in BTOOOM !. Honestly, with this concept Btooom! already able to compete others anime with the excitement that presented in this mind battle. The individual psychological element also exposed pretty well, also the pacing fairly balanced but not perfect. However, this anime has a lot of flaws, one of them is the flashback. It is true, the flashback creates a story or a character more interesting than before. We can know the characters past from there, but the flashback in Btooom! greatly reduce the intense tension that exists and disrupt the plot. There is some fan service anime that came out of it, the bad thing is, they using the main heroine forced to do fan service alone and using it as a plot device. Another downside is the cliff-hanging ending that and not too satisfying, either because of lack of episodes / costs or because the manga still ongoing which makes you all become disappointed because of the ending.
The animation looks very different from other anime, some characters are drawn in a semi-realistic design, but there is some are not and even though there are some people who said that the character designs like-pieces of cardboard, but, at least, it still tolerable. Set in the tropical forest, the environment is very beautiful, shiny, and semi-realistic. The explosion of the bomb and other visual effects are also quite good. In terms of sound, Btooom! above average. Opening song "No Pain no Game" sung by nano is quite popular among fans and really good to hear. There is nothing wrong of how the seiyuu dubbing the characters, and the sound effects are quite adequate.
Flashback is indeed one of Btooom! flaws in terms of the story, but also gives the power to explore the existing character. We have our protagonist Sakamoto Ryouta, a professional video game player and selfish until the massive character development happened to him makes to be more concerned with other people. Our female lead, Himiko also got some character development that could sufficient be seen as the story goes. Furthermore, there is some people who also trapped on the island are getting a little character development. We can see the reason why they can be stranded on the island.
Btooom! may be highly favored by fans but may not be preferred by some people. But if you are looking for a unique battle setting that using strategy, and if you are a fan of survival game, this anime is the right choice for you. Although not great, Btooom! managed to attract its audience with the typical concept.

The concept of the survival game and battle royal is very mainstream today and is favored also by many people, a lot of anime that uses this concept with the objective of achieving huge profits that make anime these days feels more commercial. One of those anime is Riddle Story of Devil or commonly called Akuma no Riddle, a show that comes from Diomedea studio (known for the anime Squid Girl). The story is illustrated in Myojou Academy, a boarding school for women. The school has a special class named Black Class, containing 12 assassin who has a mission to kill 'the target' which
...
is in the same class as well.
One of the weaknesses of this anime is the supporting element of the story that almost didn't run at all, the concept of battle royal that usually thrill and exciting can not be felt. Also, the anime is not paying attention the importance of an originality of a masterpiece, the story didn't have an identity. Furthermore, Akuma no Riddle has a plot that is very common, the plot is not well organized and feels very easily predictable from the beginning, the ending looks very forced. There are plot holes that still empty until the end of the story. Exacerbated by many unexpected fan service appear everywhere like rain. These factors above really makes Akuma no Riddle very weak in the story section.
The animation possessed adequate existing standards, as well as the character design. But it doesn't fit with the story feeling, figure portrayed an assassin less on character design.
Even so, there is no problem in that their actions show. In terms of sound and music, Akuma no Riddle quite above average. The opening song very lively, the ending songs is quite interesting because each episode has their own ending songs. While the voice actor does their job adequately.
Deepening the characters in this story concept is difficult, let alone this show consists just 12 episodes, very difficult to make an interesting character in that short periodic of time. This happens on Akuma no Riddle, the anime impose to tell all of the character's past. But do not notice how shallow the development of the character they make, which creates a backfire to the plot. The main character also has a very weak motive and irrational reason in helping the target.
Akuma no Riddle may have a lot of shortcomings in terms of story and character, but it didn't make this show very ugly until you want to dispose of this radioactive far away, maybe recommended for people who are looking for action and fight rather than a story.
Finally, you like it or did not it depends on you.

Our life is like a cycle, sometimes we are above and sometimes we are under
Clannad ~After Story~ is a sequel from Clannad and an adaptation from the original Visual Novel created by KEY. The anime often heard in my ear as one of the best anime. I always ask myself, ''Why? Why Clannad very famous? Is it really that good?". But now, I know something special is exist in this story.
If you looked Clannad AS, there is not much to say about the plot. It told us a tale of a man that suffer the difficulties of living, and how he pass through it.
...
In the early episode, the storytelling almost looks same like the first season described as not too essential. But after that, the story run into one focused and unique storytelling. One of the other major fruitfulness is the story managed to wrap all of the mixed feelings that are not rigid and suitable with the story. There are various moral lessons we can learn, one of them is "even though you've had a painful past, you can overcome it by looking into the future with the ones you love", and many moral lessons includes in this story, it is the most powerful aspect of the story. The pacing it's relatively slow but fit with this kind of settings. Next, the ending, the most widely criticized part of Clannad After Story is its deus ex machina ending, it still abstract to understandable if the viewers don't understand the mysteries that lurked, which can bring a little bit confusion to the viewers.
The animation is wonderful, set in a beautiful world, have a great background details and colorful art. Although I know there is many people disliked the character big eyes design, but it really needs praise for the breathtaking environment. The sound settings are well-matched with the feeling of the story, the OP theme song "Toki wo Kizamu Uta (時を刻む唄)" by Lia really represents the expression of the story. The seiyuu did a wonderful job in bringing such character to the screen.
I almost shocked and silent, It's just so perfect & unmatchable. The main character grows to more mature. Every character has their proper development & plays their roles well. There is a process and the results come. It is one of the deepest and detail character development I ever saw.
There goes Clannad After Story, a story that made almost all of its audience draw their tears in their eyes. If you looking an anime that succeeds both in their perfect character development and deep plot, Clannad After Story is the answer.

Sometimes the ending of a story is not appropriate with what we want. But because of that, we can learn something...
The 2nd season is more focused in the plot elements, the story expresses its complexity better than its previous season. Another interesting point is the story is full of excitement and surprises, it really boosts the enjoyment of the series. All of the mysteries is revealed and clarified. But besides that, Valvrave have some minus points, the story pace is still unstable, first it have a slow to medium pacing, but in the last 3 episodes, the story increases its speed to its full limit
...
of velocity, it really makes the ending feel so forced. Also, there are some scenes that told in different times that makes the ending more predictable. The ending has some moral lessons behind, ''sacrifice is needed in order to change something''
The animation still looks awesome like the 1st season, it has a great details and battle action. The sound settings is another good thing, the opening song "Kakumei Dualism" sung by Nana Mizuki and T.M Revolution really got the beat. The seiyuu did fairly well job in bringing their character.
The character development is not really different with the 1st season. There is some character development that occurs, but not really necessary & related with the story. The major development is centered in our 2nd male lead, L-Elf while another character beside him is still relatively flat and uninteresting. The villain reason is abstract, the romance feeling from the 1st season is gone.
Although the character development really fails, but Valvrave successfully brings the individual element of the story, in the end, the tale of Japanese Mecha Vampire is over peacefully...It is surely a decent anime.

One of the most popular anime of Summer 2014, after 1 episode Tokyo Ghoul really break the Top Watching List of 2014. For the fans, Tokyo Ghoul is a good getaway series. But behind the fact, Tokyo Ghoul have a various lack in their performance.
The story told us about Kaneki Ken, a boy who accidentally turned into a Ghoul. Ghoul is a man-eating monster that founded in Islamic Folklore. At first, Tokyo Ghoul seems so promising many things, but in the reality, it failed. The story has a relatively slow pacing, for example in one episode only happened a few events only. And sometimes
...
a dull feeling occurs in the story. The other problem that occurs is the is the individual elements of the story is not going so well, the mystery is relatively predictable, the battle scenes is decent and over-simplistic. The plot seems not focusing on the main story, it spews out everywhere like a juice. The anime have a decent and fair enjoyment.
The animation seems decent, with a combination of typical battle scenes and common battle effect. Also, there are some ‘gore’ scenes that been censored, it really reduce the horror feeling of the story. While the sound settings are good, Opening Songs is good and tolerated and the seiyuu did a fairly good job.
The character of Tokyo Ghoul done their roles pretty well. There is some scene that conducts some development, but despite that, the main problem that occurs is the lack of the main character development. Why? Because it feels very forced and far-fetched. The characters have developed but not relate the development with the story itself. Also, the motive of the villain is very notional and still abstract.
Tokyo Ghoul maybe breaks the watching list of 2014, the anime have a relatively rare settings but have many flaw and mistakes. Is it good……..? or bad……?. The answer lies in the center…

Considered as the 3rd movie of the highly known Meitantei Conan, the Last Wizard of The Century is a blockbuster in its era.
The most notable thing in detective movie is the mystery element. Be prepare to found an amazing movie with a lot of mysteries hidden with it. You will be blinded by one of the most well-produced mystery. While the individual elements of the story done well, the plot is decent and manage to balance the story up. With historical value within this film, Last Wizard of The Century have a + sign for them and did a fairly good job in the
...
plot settings.
It is easily accessible, the movie is a perfect example of enjoying the series at its best without having to watch all of Meitantei Conan episodes.
The animation is quite old if we compared it with our era now, but in general, it's decent. The sound settings are also decent as well.
The characters came out from everywhere, almost all of the main cast appear in the screen.
Kaitou Kid is the omniscient and overpowered character while our hero Conan is analytical and smart. Although omniscient is not a good thing, but the character did their roles pretty well.
Overall, if you are a fan of Meitantei Conan, don't miss this. Also, if you a fan of detective and mystery settings is quite recommended for you.

Based off the light novel written by Fuyumi Ono in 1998. Shiki is not your typical vampire themes, it is a rare breed of an anime. If we discuss vampire in anime, many words that come out. The phrases that often comes out are romance (Rosario to Vampire etc), and action (Hellsing and Trinity Blood) Many vampire anime got mixed up by those set-up while Shiki did a different thing than the others. Shiki throws tons of mystery to the plot, the story itself is more focused to the plot and fewer fillers. The story set-up in Sotoba. A village with large numbers of mysterious
...
deaths that never happen before. The villagers didn't know what threat that will come to haunt them.
Another interesting from this story are they take a different viewpoint of the storyline. It's just so rare to found an anime that does that in the right place. The story has 3 leading roles, with a different point of view. While the pacing is different, The story goes with medium-slow pace, while the individual elements of mystery discovered one by one. Shiki has a little dull feeling in the early episode , but as the story evolves with mysteries & excitement in the air. My eyes just ask more, and more. The enjoyment shines in the finale. In just the end of 10 seconds of this anime, I saw a cyclone right in front of my eye.
I know that many viewers dislike the art of this anime. It's similar with 90's anime.
But, if you looked deeply, the art really represents the feeling of the story itself. The animation is done well, it represents fear and darkness in the night, and bring bright feeling when the morning in the story comes.
The sound settings are one of the most brilliant ideas. I'm not talking about quality, I'm talking about how much darkness feeling that spit out from the opening theme. While the ending was decent. The seiyuu did well in bringing such characters to the screen.
With millions of peoples within Shiki, it's really dangerous for the balance of the story. While other people think Shiki need do more development in their character, and they do have.. But, if we think logically, "How can we make a deep character in just 22 episodes, while the cast is crowded?'', even the best writer will be confused with this kind of question. But Shiki answers that ''We just need the major development in the essential characters, and throw a proper role to the rest...". The characters had their own proper roles, it's not perfect but it's enough to balance the story up.
And that's all about Shiki, a rare breed vampire theme. The anime do more to the plot although have some lack of points in the characterization, but it's worth to watch. If you seek a deep character, you won't get a bonus. But, if you interested to see a serious plot with a real vampire in the anime form, then the anime is for you.
