This anime is quite frankly one of the best I've ever watched.
I didn't feel that way at first, but its one of those anime that I have now watched over and over for months on end, and every time I watch it, its just like watching it the first time.
ORIGINALLY when I watched this the first time... it was embarrassing. Yes sadly, I was Chunibyo back then too. which made it kind of uncomfortable at times. And I thought it was just good. but every time I watched it I kept loving it more and more.
There are so many little things in
...
this in the art design and animation that are so perfect. The girls move like real girls, and different girls with different body types.... their bodies are like... real girls in shape, not the normal exaggerated anime style.
But that wasn't all, the music in this so perfectly fits the mood, in each stage. Yes I've had a girlfriend much like Rikka before, and those little adorable movements she makes especially when she finally figures out she's in love with Togashi are priceless... but real.
My little "Rikka"... was so bashful she could barely squeak out her name to me when I first met her. And to watch Rikka's little reactions were like a little memory trip from long ago. Yes she was a little dreamer too.
But every character in this has this weapons grade adorableness from Dekomori's craziness to Nibutani's obsessive "Mori Summer" reactions, to Kumin's cute innocence and voice.
And the interactions between all these characters is just priceless. I don't think there's much in this one I don't like. Even Toka who is kind of a bitch is still hilarious.
I think the only other series I could rate this high that I've seen would be Toradora and Mayo Chiki.
Interestingly enough I prefer the DUB version of this to the SUB, the voices for the dub were superior. Which was the complete opposite of Mayo Chiki where I felt the SUB voices were much better and more fitting than the DUB. So they can be hit or miss, but in this case, I would recommend the Dub.

When I bought this one I did not expect to find what I did, I read no reviews, and I think I bought it for the girl on the cover, she looked kinda cute. So I took a chance...
This has got to be one of the more powerful anime I've watched. And its one of the few where I simply cannot agree with anything in the lower rated reviews.
Normally I go for the really wacky characters, this one doesn't really have those to the extent of some of my other favorites of this genre like Toradora or Chunibyo or Pet Girl of Sakura
...
Hall. instead it focuses on a deeper more dramatic storyline. Much more adult, less childlike, and I don't mean that in terms of Hentai.
But really the backstory and the ghost self, and all the little but meaningful details in between are so intensive. Perhaps its because... I have had a girlfriend like Koko, and girls from the past like Linda. They did them very well.
This one left me haunted and thinking about it much longer than when the anime ended. I think the only other anime that did that to me was Kanon and it was for the same reasons. Leaving them behind and then coming back years later and realizing the enormous impact you'd had in their lives for good or bad.
The art was excellent, as was the story and the character development,
I don't know if I can watch this one again... but not because it sucks or anything like that... but because it may just be too painful... again much like Kanon was for me.

This one is surprisingly good. Some of the reviews are correct, at first it seems like an ecchi harem or fan service. But its a lot more than that. The anime goes into some deep themes of genius level talent vs average talent and hard work and how lesser people try to measure up to those "out there" kind of people who live in a questionable reality but have a genius level talent they can never compare to, yet loving and appreciating them while they make them feel an inner worthless at the same time.
It goes into the trade offs of those who live
...
in this reality, and those who live in their own.
But what truly makes this anime special is the characters. They are every bit as out there as you'd expect, and the normal ones are responsible and down to earth while the genius level ones can't even figure out how to put their own cloths on.
Honestly though... this one needs a DUB to be truly appreciated. Many times the characters are so energetic they will talk right over each other, so you have two dialogues going at the same time, which makes the SUB version not as easy to watch. While you can listen to two voices talking over each other and pick out the conversations, many times in the SUB you have to stop the video to catch the full measure of all that's being said.
Art style is pretty good, character interaction is spectacular, Story is very good, and its an incredibly enjoyable, funny, and touching story where the characters just make you smile.
Its the same kind of interactions you find in Love, Chunibyo, and other Delusions minus the cool special transformation into the imagination type shots, and its every bit as good.

I didn't think the actual story of this was anything special. But honestly the characters in it are excellent. Raishen and Yaya's interactions are priceless. I'm not sure I liked Char that much, but the rest of the characters were excellent.
I think I liked the ending song much better than the opener though and wish they were reversed.
Raishen generally is a very sharp guy, well except for one episode where he turns into a complete idiot briefly, but soon he's right back to his calm calculating self.
Yaya is just awesome. I seriously want to know the backstory on this one. While the
...
Shoko flashbacks are great, in the Ovas that come with the Limited Edition hint that Yaya hated him when they first met, but now she's obsessed with him, and thinks they're married and on their honeymoon.
You just KNOW Shoko must have manipulated that into happening, especially considering Raishen's reactions to having a doll want him that badly.
Yes, I really get off on Yaya and her antics, she's a cutie.

Honestly I don't disagree with some of the things said about this second series. But one thing I will definitely say, it keeps and maintains the weapons grade adorableness the first one had.
I have only seen the subbed version, but honestly I thought the dubbed version of the first season as better than the subbed, so my rating may change once I see the dubbed version.
I didn't think the first series had some kind of incredible story, it was just very enjoyable, and incredibly heartwarming just to watch the characters interact. That was really the thing that made it great.
And the second
...
series doesn't disappoint me at all, while Yuta and Rika's relationship didn't go that far, Deko and Mori varied from hilarious to surprisingly touching.
And yes I did love Satoni, and I really got off on the NEE hahaha! I loved that character. I hope the dubbed voice keeps that laugh too. It made the character really stick out and sound like a magical girl crazy pirate. Yeah she was a cutie too. I really liked it.
Story was lighter than the first, but had its moments.
No this series really didn't need a sequel... but I just loved the characters... and had to see them again.
This one didn't disappoint me at all. Yeah would have been great to see Rika and Yuta take the next step, but the interactions between everyone just made it all worth it.
