I wasn't too sure going into slime isekai as initially I thought it was just one of those typical isekais where the protagonist is op and defeats everyone, but this time just as a slime. However, after the first two or three episodes I was hooked to the entire premise of the series. This isekai was more than just a typical isekai, and honestly I believe that it's unique enough to shine above other isekais. Let me explain why.
Story
Story is a 7 from me, but don't let this discourage you from watching. I only gave it a 7 as the series fails to follow a
...
clear storyline and its direction seems to be heading into the abyss. Instead, it's about a slime that befriends strangers and enemies that become loyal to it and follows it on a seemingly directionless adventure. However, this isn't a bad thing at all. While slime isekai fails to follow a clear cut storyline, it exceeds at making the encounters that slime has throughout the story very entertaining and interesting.
Art
So I don't know much about 8bit as an animation studio or their previous work, but I wasn't disappointed by the quality of the art and animations in any of the episodes. The art in the fight scenes with the slime was clean and felt like it just fit with the anime. Character designs were unique and were great to look at as well.
Character
Slime's character throughout the series was consistent and was definitely differentiable among other characters. He's generally kind, considerate, and always approaches situations with a logical and rational standpoint. His kindness and consideration for others is why he was able to befriend enemies which is why I found his character so interesting and fun to watch. However, the side characters throughout the series show lack of depth and were simply there for comical purposes or just to simply progress the encounters with slime. Thus, character being a 8.
Enjoyment/Overall
So I've talked a bit about the strong points about slime isekai and most of the weak points with slime isekai, but I haven't gotten to why I found this anime so enjoyable as a 9 out of 10. In the shortest and simplest way to put it, slime isekai is wholesome. At least to my knowledge, not often do you find an wholesome isekai which in my opinion, makes it an underdog or a hidden gem in the isekai genre. If we look at Re:Zero for example, that would be on the opposite end of the spectrum of where slime isekai would be, simply because of just how depressing Re:Zero is. So if you're just looking for a good time and want to smile alot because these times have been rough for all of us, slime isekai is definitely a good start.
Slime Isekai has found a unique place in my heart and I hope it does for the most of you as well.

So it's been a good 4 years since I've written an anime review and recently I decided to come back to the community because of reasons. Part of why I wanted to come back was due to the fact that I wanted to share my opinion with the community on the best animes in my heart, and that I hope it finds a place in some of your hearts as well.
Going into Shirobako, I was a little unsure of what I was getting myself into. I saw that the anime had a good rating and that it was a slice of life so it fit
...
the general description of the animes I was looking for at the time. However, as i progressed through the series, I've realized that the anime had truly captured the meaning of slice of life and that was portrayed many times throughout the episodes. For example, the typical character dialogue to the highly realistic gestures or actions that I was surprised to see at the level of attention and detail P.A works has put into. After finishing the series, I've developed a much greater appreciation for the amount of effort and time that is put into anime creation as Shirobako was able to perfectly depict the entire anime creation process.
Story
Shirobako is an anime about making animes to put it in simplest terms. That being said, I gave the story a 8, because although it follows that specific premise, it lacks the suspense and thrill it should be giving viewers. However, that is a given as you wouldn't expect that much of a great storyline in typical slice of lifes, at least to my knowledge.
Art
P.A works has a tendency to produce amazing art with their animes and Shirobako was no exception to this. I was very surprised to see the level of detail that was put into the art aspects of anime development as Shirobako had done very well to portray. There isn't much else to comment on their art as it's truly stunning, and if you're interested in what I was talking about in the previous sentence, you would have to watch it as it's difficult to explain.
Character
The main characters and even the side characters all had unique personalities, dialogue, and speech patterns which did more than cover for the lack of thrill in the story. Most of why I think Shirobako is a gem among other slice of lifes is the level of consistency that is put into the characters. There wasn't a single moment where I had to question the integrity of a character, and this made the characters all the more interesting. One other thing to add is that I found myself relating to one or a few characters at many moments throughout the anime, and when those characters would be getting advice, it would hit home for me as well. For fellow university or college students out there, I'm sure that you folks would relate to some of the moments these characters have in the anime.
Enjoyment/Overall
24 episodes went by very quickly, and I felt myself a little sad after I finished the series. Out of all the slice of lifes I've watched thus far, Shirobako takes a unique place in my heart as I've never watched or seen anything remotely similar to it. If anyone knows a slice of life similar to Shirobako and is close to the level of quality and goodness of it, I would love to know about it. If you're a college or university student or just someone who is unsure about their career path, Shirobako might be an anime that would hit home for you as it did for me.

I don't usually write reviews for animes but after watching episode 9 I feel like I have to. The first few episodes were a bit slow and it seemed as if it the anime's plot was simply a girl searching for the meaning of love. However, leading up to episode 9, the character development, individual stories, and backstory all connected in episode 9. It gets emotional after you realize what the protagonist went through leading up to ep 9.
It captures the essence of purpose and how purpose can influence a person in life. Understanding this, it brought a whole new meaning to the plot
...
and the development of the main character. I think this is what hit most people that watched up to episode 9. It will probably hit you too.
This anime won't disappoint, go give it a try.

This movie was so cruel.. it starts off all bright and gives the impression that oh this is going to be a happy story where everyone lives happily ever, but nah lets just make this just entire thing switch lanes in just one scene. Don't get me wrong, if it didn't do that this movie probably wouldn't have been as good as it is right now. Here's why.
I finished the movie today and i have to tell you, I was so immersed into the movie always sitting on the edge of my chair just dying to know what happens next. This is partially,
...
because of how quick of a turn this movie took and how much it intensified almost to the point of it being overwhelming. I think that was one of the reasons to why this movie is so great.
I seldom write reviews but i just have to tell you, this is a straight masterpiece. This is a movie that is going to stay at the top of movie lists for a very long time and if you haven't watched it yet and you're reading this review debating whether or not you should go watch this movie. JUST DO IT!!!!! Oh and if you are a fan of Erased and Anohana (Amazing animes btw, if you havent watched it yet go watch it), just sayin, but this movie kind of incorporates the ideas of both of these animes .
