Ravager?

WOO! I'm not the only Western comic reader on this board!
Sanshaino May 26, 2009 11:05 AM
I've now officially renamed my computer Toast, since it is, and my dad never seems to get his butt in gear to fix it. Thankfully, he's not home today and I am now using HIS computer (christened Behemoth; by me) and can therefore reach the internetz for a longer time than it takes me to do my flippin' homework. It is VERY frustrating when you only get one hour each day on the library computers and you have to research swine flu, write three book-reviews, write health reports for P.E. and in general study for the finals-from-hell. Seriously, I've had major final tests in...5 subjects these last three weeks, two more coming up these three coming days alone.

I planned to read Peach Girl, read Koukou Debut instead and am currently sleep deprived.

How've you been?
ScreamLouderr May 6, 2009 3:21 AM
haha awesome!
that's so rare in shojo.
they're usually so annoying and perfect.

Have you read any of the mini-MARVEL stories? I read some of the Hulk ones and they were pretty funny.

Here's some pages:

Canada's cool, I spent a week up there canoeing, eh.

Yeah, only a few of ours are considered Honors, and even less of them are AP though we have somewhere around 8. Everything else is just required to graduate or a fun little way to pass the time i.e. Comparative Religion. Our Lit's are easy, though no one's taken them in forever so the teacher's just don't care. JRR Tolkien wasn't a philosopher by the way, unless self-proclaimed, he was a linguist and he came up with two languages, both of them elven. But yeah, he's waaaaaaaaay too detailed for my tastes, you don't need to describe every blade of grass to give me the feel.

Yeah, it is strange but that's our school. Our Physics is already AP but a seniors only class, and only after you've taken Bio I and Chem I as prerequisites. So it kind of sucks, and in comparison to your science program, ours is terrible. Only four fields of study and Earth Science doesn't really count.

Yeah, they are but I love them. Supposedly, they're going to release the seasons of Justice League Unlimited here shortly. Batman Beyond is already out. Also, have you seen the Venture Bros.? I love how that series makes fun of old comics and Johnny Quest, and it's so damn funny. (Although I'm fairly sure I lose brain cells with each episode.) I bought 2 seasons and can't stop watching them.

Are you talking about the Rapeman link? I tried to talk him out of it but he'd already sent it before I could do anything about it. That's his sense of humor at least, unnecessary but occasionally quite funny. Anyway, I apologize for that incident because I know he won't.

Red Dawn's a classic.

And in case no one told you, every year MAL has an April Fool's Day joke, and that was it this year. Pissed me off but hey, I can't do anything about it.

Oh, and sorry about the long reply time, I've been ridiculously busy as of late.
ScreamLouderr Apr 14, 2009 1:57 PM
i've never gotten a hold of the manga.
i'll look into :D

i suggest watching it still xD
it's like amazing.

how about you? any recommendations?
Sanshaino Apr 12, 2009 1:17 PM
Peach Girl? Haven't read it, but considering the name it sounds VERY shoujo (also considering the appearance of the so-called 'harajuku girls' aka. vile ganguro). <_<
I usually leave all the shoujo to one of my closest pals - he's better at soaking up all the gooey lovey-dovey stuff.
He once took me to the movies and I was only thinking 'YAY! MOVIE!' about the whole thing when I afterwards realized that he maybe ment it to be a date. Then I wus liek o_o;;

You're reading Good Omens right now? Thass some good shit you've got there. x3 Have you read the Wish List by Eoin Colfer? It's not a sublime as Good Omens but fun in a similar way...as far as I remember - my memory is weird.

Yeah, I'm blond to begin with - even though my wonderful, wonderful genes are slowly making me brown-haired as I grow older - so platinum wasn't THAT far off the charts. Still, it was damn near a trauma. What scares me the most is that nobody commented on the fact that I returned from the summer vacation to school with 9000 shades fairer hair. NOBODY.

And Chinese seems very interes- ENVYYYYYYYYYYYYY!! D:
ScreamLouderr Apr 12, 2009 9:39 AM
no i have not haa. i shall look though.

i've watched Read or Die the T.V. series. I highly recommend you watch it and the OVA too :D
it's amazing like forrealz.
ScreamLouderr Apr 11, 2009 4:45 PM
hey hey.
talk to meh.
i got this stupid thing for you
XD
Sanshaino Apr 11, 2009 1:29 PM
That type of social-ness sort of reminds me of mine...I once apologized to a friend that I hadn't spoken to anyone in the gang for a few weeks and he was all: "Don't sweat it, we're all used to the times when you're an antisocial bastard." and I was like "Oh, okay...how...nice." ...Anyway. n_n;

Ach, I saw that coming. xI I haven't really gotten down to reading all what Gaiman's done - all you find here is the imported novels and children's books - so my opinions are just based on the basic stuff. It's nice to hear that I might be terribly mistaken.
...Gaiman's done audio-dramas? Have I been living under some sort of rock my entire life?
And it's SIR Terry Pratchett nowadays. :) Yay for Discworld. (Though I've only read the Colour of Magic. D'oh.)

Whoa, Greece, that's nice. Haven't been there, but France is boiling hot the same time of the year so I can imagine. I turned platinum-blonde there once. Never even realized until I saw and old photo of myself and freaked out. Add a little lipstick and I'd been a full-fledged ganguro. Brr. I share your pain.

No conjugations? That's like the DIRECT OPPOSITE of Spanish! ENVY! ENVY! ENVYYY! D:
1eyedjoker Apr 8, 2009 8:16 AM
Been meaning to ask, how'd you like the Watchmen movie?
Sanshaino Apr 7, 2009 1:02 PM
Concerning the subject of taking cake, I clearly must have earned the right for that by now. Sorry for major delay, I've been anti-social and had exams, but not really what you call exams, but exams none the less - school has been hell. Still is. Which sort of is the reason of my anti-social-ness. I hate semi-depressions. >.<

Ah, SANDMAN. That was probably the first comic outside Donald Duck and random manga I ever read. The great start of my now certainly-not-healthy obsession of comics. I tried to make my old teacher read Sandman since he loves Lucifer, but not even when I told him that the latter was a spin-off off the sooner did he budge. He has also declined to playing Magic: the gathering with my friends since he claimed they were too young. My friends are now keeping a countdown. Have for the last half decennium.
Where was I - oh, yes, Sandman. Even though I thought Sandman to be innovative and rarely well made when I first read it, I have to admit that Gaiman has loaned (leant? loant?) and used tons of material from other writers in his work - not only those that are blatantly obvious. I mean, the entire novel Good Omens was pretty much based on the novel the Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie.
tl;dr: I have to idea wheter to think of him as a fantastic writer or a thief. Which makes me feel like...I dunno, liking Queen and then realizing that Freddie Mercury stole all his songs from elsewhere.

I just must comment - English, Greek AND Chinese. What a damn combo you've got going there. And Chinese...I've always thought that must be such a difficult language. I've known a Chinese guy for like..11 years and all I know to say is 'xie-xie'. Kudos to you for cracking the code. And a cookie.
I know Spanish too...although not fluently. Even though I read it for 8 years in school. <.<;

Yeah, this one took me quite a bit of length to reply to ... with Spring Break and all. New York has no wireless internet that you don't have to pay for.

Yeah, mine's public but we have about the same requirements for our regular deploma and then we have about three others. We have the Core 40, which is the usual one witht the general just below that, then there's the Academic Honors, which I should be getting and the Art and Technical Honors which I should also be getting. Really, it's not hard to get the Honors and the Technical/Art together, I pretty much had both by the end of my Junior year.

Yeah, our Literature classes pretty much suck. I don't think enough people have signed up to make it an actual class for the past ... ten years at least. But yeah, they kind of suck, however LOTR I absolutely hated. Waaaay too long and drawn out, the Hobbit was good though. (Also Frodo was a pansy.)

Ah ... who cares, I hate the chick. So does everyone in that class with half a brain, which is all the class besides her. Once again, not sure how she got in let alone how she's managing to pass. As for Chemistry I and II, the first is all the basic stuff you need to know, and it's required if you want to take Physics and Advanced Biology (Both of them are AP courses, Physics is required for Academic Honors.) Then you can choose to take Adv. Bio or Chem II your Junior year because Physics is a senior-only class. Chemistry II would be probably comparible to your AP Chem but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Ah I see. I guessed that after I typed the comment but it was too late by then so I just let it stay.

Which Batman Beyond episode was it? Some of those are quite depressing and dark for a kids series, I remember one called 'Blue Moon', 'Full Moon', or something like that and anyone who wants to be depressed on a beautiful sunny day should watch that. Cool but most definately depressing.

I know, I was mostly just kidding, sorry if it sounded like I was being serious. You really can't do the sarcastic voice inflection over the internet, can you? And you probably did see my picture on the podcast for episode 10, Sorrow did it even though I was totally against it. If you're thinking of the guy with the ridiculously long hair wearing a Star Wars hoodie, that's me. If you want to know, Sorrow is the kid in the middle with his arms crossed trying to look hardassed. You're cool to chat with too. *THUMBS UP*

Hah, Red Dawn ... man does that bring back memories.

Oh and Happy April Fools Day! (F@*&ing Naruto)

Sanshaino Mar 9, 2009 2:42 PM
Heh. Sounds like a real adventure just to be drawn. Stalk closets for mysterious flowing artefacts. >w<
Artists are tempramental? o.o

Oho? So you're a DC-fan?...Or, well, state of the obvious concerning your dashing profile. I'm myself very fond of them, but under the name Vertigo. Preacher~ <3

And about the very antique floppies, the older ones (and they are actually kinda yellow and brittle, for realz) are heirloom from my deceased grandfather. Not only that, they're all in Finnish. Which, yet again is not my mothertongue. I live in Sweden despite my genetical heritage. So, bilingual since birth, and learned English by accident somewhere in the process. o.o
And actually, it's '1337'. :3

Sorry about late answer, I was going to answer this weekend but MAL just went belly-up on me. As you might have noticed. <.<
FALLEN101 Mar 6, 2009 2:57 PM
Yeah, it's been a ridiculously long while, but let's forget about that and move on.

*POINTS AND LAUGHS* I have some mandatory classes, but most are electives. (Hell, Calculus is an elective in our school.) All my stuff is relatively quick, I'm a fast worker on homework apparently. Where I go to high school is just the shoddy public school that nearly everyone goes to, unless they have a lot of money then they go to signature school which it in a city about thirty miles away, so I have the amount of life everyone else around here has. We don't get cool lit classed like Sci-fi lit, we only have classical and contemporary. *POINTS AND LAUGHS ONCE MORE*

Everyone does that every once in a while, the whole asking something that you don't really know how to phrase into a question thing. I know I do at least but this chick ... she shouldn't even have been in Chemistry I let alone Chemistry II. She's relatively hot, if you take the whole talking thing away, so I think she had sex with our teacher to get an A. But that's just a theory. Anyway, she asks stuff that he just explained two minutes earlier and she does this two to three times every class period. Every period!

And V-mister...? What the heck's that?

Trust me, I have a heart of steel ... sort of ... but I still teared up at key moments. It's just ... so ... damn ... beautiful. Seriously. And I don't mind if you decide to pontificate your feelings about it to me, I actually enjoy discussing books and I rant a great deal as well.

And how did you get me calling you not pretty out of that comment..? No offense, but I've never seen you before so I don't actually know if you really are pretty or not. Just like you don't know if I'm handsome or not. All I know is you're someone fun to talk to ... technically I don't even know if you're a girl and that's about what your knowledge is of me ... although I might not even be fun to talk to...

Anyway ... why in God's name would anyone wear those things? I think it's a communist plot to kill of teenage females.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
